Back in their room, William placed his wife on the bed and retrieved a first-aid box to treat her wounds.

"I'm sorry!" he said.

"No, I'm the one who's sorry. I was too confident. Besides, I'm just a human and I used tricks to win. You just cover for me every time. I..." she was cut short by William.

"Hush, baby! I'm an Alpha King but that's just a title I can ditch anytime. But you... you are my priceless treasure. You were gifted to me, and I feel like the luckiest werewolf alive to have you. Mira, never look down on yourself. You worked very hard for today and you proved your capabilities. That being human doesn't make you handicapped. You are special. You don't need to force yourself into the last round. Having you take part with them is already an honor. You proved that you won't drag anyone down when there's danger. Many like you now. Isn't this your earnest wish? To be accepted?" he spoke in a low voice with his hands placed on her shoulders.

"Williams, I earnestly hope to mother a child for you. I don't want you to give up your title and your inheritance to someone. You worked so hard to take this pack to where it is now. I can't let you give that all up just because of me." Mira wanted to cry.

"Dear, I've told you many times, I'm not in a hurry. If it's the goddess' will for us not to carry a baby yet, then why should we be so worried? Don't belittle yourself. Even if we won't even get one in our lifetime, we can always adopt one of our own. Who knows blessing might even result from that? I stayed a virgin awaiting you and I swore to hold my mate's hands till old age, no matter what happens. This matter won't even cause a ripple on my love for you, Mira. Don't think too much, my dear. Okay?" he kissed her forehead and brought her to a hug, slowly and gently patting her back.

"William, I just feel scared of losing you." she admitted.

"Cast such fear down the ocean, babe. Your husband is going nowhere. I was willing to be naked forever just to be with you when I fought with that intruder Alpha and encountered Leena. Come to think of it. I don't think there's any Luna as kind and tolerant as you. You know, that night, she had revealed that she'd seen and tasted me before the blonde. You know, if it weren't for you, I'd have killed her."

"Just let her be a slave." Mira said. "And I know your work is difficult and you aren't immune to mages' spell. So if something like that happens again. You don't need to expound on what happened. I know you have only me in your heart. I trust you! Just hug me and kiss my collarbone." she said, a smile slowly finding a way to her lips.

"Ooh, I think I can start now." he said and lowered her head to kiss the collarbone.

"So tender!" he praised, bring his hands to her thin waist.

"Dear, I'm sorry! You'll have to hold your little brother down for some time." she stated.

"Are you on your period?" he asked and her face became red.

"How can you be so forthright? You..."

"What? Is it something to be ashamed of? It's natural and also proves you are a woman. Plus, I wouldn't want to make you feel more pain. Let the lust wait till next week."

"Oh, my! You're so sweet." she said with mirth in between.

"I can be spicy too. Too much sugar will cause diabetes." he said, and she laughed so hard.

"William, just go be a comedian."

"I already am. Only you are worthy to witness my talent, live and for free!"

"Why do I feel guilty? Your parents will skin me alive. You should give them some of the share too. Let them laugh some more."

"Okay, my dear. I'm in a very good mood today because you finally gave Tina a good dose of medicine. I'm going to cook your favorite for you." Williams said and left the room skipping, causing her to shake her head.

Some time later, Mira was forced to the kitchen because of the fragrant smell. She was almost drooling at the thought of delicious food. She already imagined herself eating to her fill. Ahh... she can't wait!

Reaching the kitchen, she saw William wearing a pink apron and frying eggs so professionally.

"Oh my! Those muscles look so palatable." she thought.

"Babe, it's okay to drool. After all, your husband has a splendid figure." he said while still fixated on frying.

"Hey! I don't care about your figure. I just want to eat the eggs so bad." she rebutted and he smiled.

"But isn't my body way better than the eggs?" he asked.

"Yes... I mean no. I want the eggs only." she said, trying her best to focus on the eggs t no avail. Her husband was a sin! An exquisite one.

"I admit, okay? Now, can you hurry up? I'm about to die!" she complained, looking desperate.

"Hehe, no rush! Just sit down and admire me first. The food will come to you in no time." he said and gave her a tiny bit of the ready eggs to try out.

"Delicious. I want more." she cried.

"You'll get more. Patience my dear."

Soon he brought everything to the table and fed her, occasionally eating some parts which she didn't mind.

When she had her fill, she patted his head, burped and said: "Good job, Alpha!"

Then she headed upstairs, rubbing her stomach.

"Mira, Mira!" he said with a chuckle.

The Next day.

The competition's second test began. There was a bowl placed on the judges' table and contestants were paired. After being paired, one of them in each pair would be chosen at random to select a paper from the bowl on the table.

If the person picked 'human', it meant his rival was to fight him in wolf form. If he picked 'Wolf', then the rival must fight in human form. This battle would be tougher than yesterday. Mira had stubbornly joined, claiming that it would just be for one round.

William just let her be.

Mira's rival was a male who looked to be 18 and strong.

She and her rival were the first on the list to battle. When the paper selecting was done, the contestants were given 30 minutes to rest coz once the competition starts, there'll be no time to relax.

When tie was up, a bell was rung and Mira stepped onto the ring with her rival. They bowed to each other and the male went into a crawling position after taking off his red bathrobe. What was left was a black speedo.

"Ooh!" some teenage females were cheering.

"Forgive me, but I gotta take this seriously, my Luna." the male said.

"Shift, Fredo. I'm not worried." she said with a chuckle.

Hearing this, the youth initiated his transformation and started transforming into a black wolf.

"Nice looking wolf." she commented, but the wolf didn't appreciate it and headed for her with speed. Mira looked scared but managed to dodge at the last minute.

"As expected, Luna isn't gonna do well in this round. After all, she's fighting against a wolf." a female contestant said.

"Shush! Just watch!" another female rival warned and stared at the battle intensely.

All Mira did was try to dodge the wolf's ferocious attacks. But one time, she missed and directly conceded defeat.

"Have fun going upwards." she said with a smile and got out of the ring.

"Guys, I know my limits. I'll just watch from above." she said and headed towards her husband's arranged throne to sit with him.

"Oh my! She didn't need to do much. She will watch us perform hot battles and still expect us to protect her. So lucky." a male in the crowd said.

"Alright, for the first round, Fred Morrison wins!" the head judge declared, and many cheered, especially the fan girls of Fredo.

"Now, Round two! Leanna Rocks and Jonathan Greece." another judge said and two people stared into the ring; a male and female youth.

The male was holding a paper which read 'human'. The girl sighed and immediately shifted into her magenta wolf form. It looked really sinister!

"Come, Wolfie!" Jonathan said with a confident smile. The wolf immediately ran towards him.

4 hours later, only 20 people passed the test and the Alpha congratulated them.

"Tomorrow is the ultimate day. Injuries are a must. It's a fight to the death, but murder isn't allowed. Just give it your best shot. Once again, congrats to those who passed." he announced.

Cheers erupted from the crowd and some ran to hug their relatives/friends who passed. Seeing them, William smiled.

He then took Mira to the human territory to eat in a restaurant. There, she met an old friend!
