Chapter 6: The door frame

1012 Words
I still hasn't figured out what just happened at the end of the recess, two hours ago and during Spanish class, so I do not want to see that Andrew boy again until I know what is going on, well he is going to be in class so there is almost zero chance to see him today, for this remaining hour before going home, be brave, we can do this. I am not planning to fall for this guy, he knows he is good looking and all the dumb girls of school worship him and would die to be with him even for a tiny fleeting moment, so no, no way I am buying his act or whatever he is doing. I think he is either playing a new game or he made a bet, or not sure what he is thinking, damn I hate this. We waited for the our classmates to exit the classroom, and we gathered around and moved towards the door, I asked the professor if we may go to the bathroom really quick , he said no for all of us, but a thing that he apparently happily granted to me, only me, with his big great smile, perfect white teeth, not bad at all, not bad, he is the only good looking adult in the entire school, how is that possible, is like they try to punish us in the eye, ha. The whole group was further away, and I separated from the girls to go to the bathrooms area that is in front of the cafeteria. I was walking just by myself, because the professor granted permission to only one, so just me, when I was walking into that section of the school, crossing through the door frame that separate section one and two, I was walking immerse on my own thoughts about recent and totally strange events, I almost crashed against someone, again, damn it Vanessa pay more attention you cannot afford this, I scolded myself, just to lift my gaze to meet his, s**t, seriously, him, Andrew, again?, what the heck... “Hi Vanessa, again again” he told me, smirking. What? Gorgeous? seriously inner voice What is going on with you? stop this nonsense. “Is this how you met people?” he added mockingly smiling. “It isn't funny you know” I blurted out with a serious face. He changed his smirk for a gesture, probably of wonder, he waited a second, erasing the playful look he had been showing me and to just ask me “What is not funny, Vanessa?”, remarking my name while he was saying it, making the ss´s a bit longer, I like the sound of my name in his husky voice, s**t. “I don’t know what you are imagining, I don't know what is actually happening in your head, but it turns out I'm not liking these unplanned encounters, you know?”, I replied remarking the unplanned part of my reply. “Hmmmm, interesting, but you are the one bumping into me” “Well by accident, is not like I planned them, as I just said, I’m not a fortune teller to know where you are going to be during the day and that way to be able to avoid you” I replied to him a bit harsher than I expected. “I see, understood, bye then”, and just like that he quickly disappeared, when I turned back to see him, he wasn’t there anymore and he was no longer behind me walking, did he run? I didn’t listen the footsteps, wow that was quick. I walked to the lady’s bathroom, and when I was washing my hands, his face just popped again on my mind like a small movie clip, with his face of wonder or it was a face of surprise, who knows. Hey, you, inner voice SHUT UP, you, what? Are you crazy?  He is so stuck up, he thinks I am head over heels for him, and that is impossible, I just saw him today for the very first time, and two other times... Oh you, gosh. Stop, He thinks he is the moon and the stars, no, he thinks he is the sun. I felt hot inside my stomach, I am getting angry just at the thought of him. I walked to the courtyard mumbling over and over, ranting on what just happened, and how annoying this guy is, come on, he cannot be the only one here, there must be someone else, some other guy more handsome than him, it is impossible he is the most han-... “Hey you, now what? You have been lost today, earth talking to Vanessa, earth talking to Vanessa” I looked to the left to see Sandy and Lou´s amused faces “Now what? You, weird person, why so pensive, AGAIN”, Sandy talked to me again. I just nodded no, “Nothing, I’m just tired, I just need for this day to be over, please, I guess I was used to the summer break vacations, being lazy all day, watch tv or movies until late, do you know what I mean?”, they both agreed nodding with their heads. The teacher throws at them a deadly serious look as he asked their small group to be ready and in line for the next series of activities. We have been running by smaller groups of eight, all the way, back and forth over the basketball courtyard, you know how, you run to the first line, down to touch the line with your fingers, run back to the start line, run again to the middle court line, down to touch the line again, back to the start line, and then to the third line, down, back to the start line and finally the end line, down and back to the start line.
