Chapter 5: Lurking?

1023 Words
We all came in, quickly move through all the seat lines, reaching the other side of the classroom where our seat we located, sat on our seats as silently as we could, opened our backpacks, we took our notebooks and math books, opened our pencil cases to get blue pen, black pen, red pen, pencil and eraser, looked around to ask for the page and went mute, trying to catch with the group and pay attention. While I stayed there looking at the teacher, who was writing on the board the title of the first unit, some concepts and diagnostic exercises, his face just appeared in my memory, Andrew’s face, like a small motion flashback of the recent weird manly exhibition, his face looking at me just minutes before saying my name, he was looking happy, happy?, or was it a look of superiority?, is he mocking me?, what is going on?. I can’t believe what just happened and why to me, Am I sort of a nemesis to him? I just bumped into him for a second in the cafeteria, I did not plan that, it was just merely coincidence and now he knows my name, l can’t believe this is happening, is this bad luck? I think- “Vanessa, Vanessa are you deaf?”, my math teacher just broke my inner conversation and last incident recapecollection of events. “No teacher, I’m not deaf” I managed to answer him. “So why don’t you answer me?” he was definitely irritated, at me, wow, that is a first. “Hmmmm” I looked at Lou showing me a number four with her hand, that she was hiding behind her back. I looked up to the board and saw the math exercise number four on the board, it was written: Exercise 4) x-5=2x+20  In this internal process I managed to actually think for a split second and be able to answer to my math teacher “The answer is minus twenty-five (-25) professor” The teacher looked at me in disbelief, he then just turned around, look at the exercise number four, I guess he did the calculations in his head too, he turned back and just said “People you need to pay attention, Charles exercise 5, What is the correct answer?” Pheeeeeew, I was saved!!!! Barely, Vanessa stop daydreaming, seriously, now is not the time. Lou looked back at me to see me muttering her ‘Thank you’, gosh she just saved me, I hate being scolded by a teacher, any teacher, and mostly my math teacher because I love math so much.  Well, you stop thinking about that boy, focus, focus. The math class ended and in the small break we have, you know, the one that happens while one teacher is going from one classroom to the next one, the girls gathered around me and asked me. “What happened? The teacher called your name like 3 times Vane” “I don’t know, I was a bit distracted” I honestly responded just leaving the Andrew part to myself. “A bit???? A loooot????” Steph said, causing the girls to laugh and me to blush at her silly yet honest remark. “Come on, it was just a bit” I said, suddenly I felt my face really hot, I must be all red by now, again, apparently today is the day of making Vanessa blush, I hate it, I am not usually someone that blushes. “What were you thinking about? You looked so so so concentrated” Sandy asked with a playful grin in her face, making all of us to laugh loudly, too loudly that we barely heard our Spanish teacher say “Silence ladies, everybody sit and be silent please” The ladies turned in their seats and the other classmates sat properly as our teacher walked to the front of the classroom, set her things on the desk, and do the things she needs to make herself ready to start the class. Not sure why, because I am not usually a distracted kind of person, but I felt the need to look at the door, and then I saw, for a small fraction of time, I saw him lurking with a smirk on his face, Andrew, he was there, kind of checking in or looking for someone inside our classroom, then he saw me looking at him, he smiled and then he did a salute gesture with his hand to me, and just disappeared. What?  What was that? He is such a weirdo, right? But he is so cute though. What is going on? Was he lurking outside my classroom just out of pure coincidence? or was he looking for someone in my classroom? Someone? Someone else? Or maybe... Looking for me? The rest of the Spanish class went normal. I forced myself to stop consciously daydreaming or internally talking to myself or trying to figure out that weird boy, Well yes but, anyway, what was Andrew doing? Well, I tried to force myself, at least until this class ended to stop trying to figure this out. The next and last class pf the day was Physical Education (P.E.), we enthusiastically save our things on the backpacks and waited for the professor to take us out of the classroom, finally, so we could be able to stretch our legs and relax a little bit. Our teacher came in, oh wow, the new P.E teacher was a tall, amazing great body that you can admire with that tight body sport-ish t-shirt, handsome face, dark brown hair properly combed backward, 20 something years old, good looking man, no, great looking, oh and he smelled delicious his cologne was so so so manly, woooow not bad, not so bad, not bad at all. He introduced himself as Professor Ray Hernandez and then asked us to go to the new basketball courtyard located behind the third section, damn the third spooky section again, I need to avoid it.
