I got out of the house earlier than expected, to my surprise I managed to get to school early.
Went inside and entered my classroom, there she was, our early bird Lou.
I smiled at her, and she gave me a huge smile, stood up and opened her arms to give a hug.
I thanked her gesture; she is such a cutie I swear.
Then Sue arrived and said “Hello” to both of us and told me “I am glad to see you better Vane, are you ok?”
“Yes Sue, I am feeling better, let's wait for the ladies to tell you all, only once what happened”
“I think we will need to wait until recess, you know Sandy, she is never early” Lou said, and I just nodded, she is right, Sandy is the worst of us with the tardies.
Steph arrived happy as usual, making funny faces at us, we all laughed, she is the best.
“Hey, you, better?” she asked, looking at me, I nodded.
“I will wait for Sandy so I can tell you all at once what happened, ok?” she nodded.
The bell rang, the class started and no Sandy.
She was late again.
Ten minutes later she asked the teacher to let her in, he looked at her and muttered something but granted her the permission to enter.
We all nodded no at her, but she was as careless as a baby, nothing gets at her, she is a strong individual.
Our early classes passed by and soon the recess bell rang.
We stood up and I told them that I wanted to talk about what happened, they asked me to go to the third section to the bench, I was not convinced.
Whatever!
Sandy told me “He doesn't deserve to get us away from our bench, there are other great looking guys in that side of the school”
She had a point. “Alright” I said.
We entered the backyard and ran for the bench, jajajaja, Steph sprinted to win over another girl on the bench, as soon as she won the sprint and sat on the bench, she laid all over it, arms and legs extended at its max, she is so hilarious, no doubt.
I sat in the middle of the bench, Lou on my left, Sandy on the right, Steph on the floor in front of me and Sue next to Lou.
I gave them the shorter version of the sad story, they were gaping, their eyes got wider and wider as I was telling what my cousin did to him, how she bounced over his mmm, his lap.
They were mute as I finished.
“Now you get me? what he could say to explain? there is nothing to explain, everything is crystal clear, right?” I finished telling the story.
“What did he write on the paper?” Steph asked, as she was the one that gave it to me.
“No idea, I just throw it to the trash at my house”
Whatever! I don't care.
“He is a f ucker, I will never help him ever again” Sandy blurted out of the blue.
I just laughed at her outburst “Thanks though”
“I can't believe it, honestly I was not expecting anything like this” Sue surprised me with her comment.
“Vane, can I talk to you?” I lifted my gaze and saw Larry standing there, behind Steph.
We all got shocked when we heard his voice.
I nodded and stood up to walk with him around the bench to stand next to the courtyard door, away from Andrew's gaze.
While I was walking, I saw him looking at us, serious as a heart attack.
“First let me tell you-”
“If you are going to defend him just don't, please” I interrupted Larry
He quickly nodded no and continue “Let me tell you I didn't know you knew Claire”
“Jajajajajaja that's not the point!” I interrupted him again
“No no no, wait, that's not what I meant, what I meant is-”
“Did he ask you to do this? to come and talk to me on his behalf?” I interrupted him once more
He nodded no “But he told me what happened and-”
“So, you knew he had a girlfriend, whoever she is, it doesn't matter, but he was, what? flirting with me? Is that what he was doing last week and Monday?” I couldn't stop interrupting him, I was getting madder by the second
“No sure, I guess”
“And what about you? are you trying to compete with him?”
“No Vane, I swear that has never been my intention, I liked you, you are funny and nice to talk to” he told me hurriedly, I guess trying to avoid being interrupted again
“Ok, so now that you know, because he told you, now do me a favor and tell him to just stay away from me, please, could you do that for me?” I solemnly asked him
He nodded and before opening his mouth again I started walking away.
I got back to the bench, looked up to see Andrew’s face, he was serious but expectant.
Larry walked back, crestfallen, towards Andrew, when he saw Larry’s expression, his face dropped to the ground, I guess he imagined my message, after that I just ignored him for the rest of the recess.
I told the ladies what Larry tried to say, and we came to a consensus of never speaking about that ever again.
To change topics and cut the dense vibe, Steph told us some weird thing her brother did the day before and we all laughed loudly, it was so crazy and funny, but that was how Robert was, he is a total charm.
I think Sandy likes him, like seriously, like a boyfriend kind of liking.
