Chapter 11 “Let’s go, guys!” I called up the stairs at 4:45 that afternoon. Becca came down the stairs first in a frilly pink dress she definitely did not wear to school. “Why did you change?” She shrugged. Never a good sign. “What happened to the clothes you wore to school?” “They got wet.” “How did they get wet?” Another shrug. Jacket on. Shoes on. “What happened, Becca?” Stern mom voice was definitely necessary. “I had an accident,” she whimpered, embarrassed. I sighed. “Where did you put your clothes?” She looked up at me with those big blue eyes that made me think of her daddy.
