“I can’t thank you guys enough for this,” I gushed to Abby and Graham Saturday evening. I slid earrings in and smiled at my friends.
“You know we don’t mind,” Graham assured me. He glanced toward the living room where the kids were watching TV. “I think Kevin wants a guy around, anyway.”
I sighed. “I know. I’ve been seeing that lately also. He’s better off without my ex around, but he needs a male influence in his life.”
“Maybe Ethan will become that?” Abby suggested.
I shook my head. “We’ve only just met. I like him, but we’re not there yet.”
“Don’t let getting close scare you off. Sometimes it knocks you out.”
Graham draped his arm over Abby’s shoulder and kissed her cheek. “That’s what happened to me. It took her a while longer, though. She didn’t think I was that hot.”
