Deal with the Merchant

In a supposedly abandoned mansion, on the outskirts of Gelroid Province in Agrigent Empire, a dark organization is secretly operating. People wearing dark clothes are busy packing magic weapons and loading them into carriages. These will be distributed and sold in the dark market. Everything is going smoothly and no one would think that among them or one of them might not be a part of the organization. An inconspicuous woman is walking just like how a busy person would but if you watch carefully or follow her you will notice that she is not doing anything other than walking.  This is Attier surveying the mansion, feeling through her snowflake-like ring the presence of the heart stone. The ring could feel the heart stone’s presence within a five-meter radius, saving her the time and effort of searching every corner of the place and turning it upside-down. She has been surveying the entire place for about two hours and not a single person suspected her of being an outsider. She is a professional actress.  After making sure that she has already covered the whole area and confirmed that the heart stone is really not there she let out a sigh and decided to go to the ballroom where most of the people are. She mixed with the other people who had just come back from loading the illegal goods into the carriage.  Attier went in and scanned the crowd looking for a good place to mix in where she might get information about the other hideouts of the organization or about other organizations. She found one in the far right corner, a very strategic place, far from the eyes of the people in charge. There are a total of four people in that working station, three men and one woman. “Ah. How many do we still have to do? My body is aching from all the boxes that I’ve carried.” Attier said as soon as she got close to the working station. She then docked and checked the box that she is supposed to carry.  She then looked up and look at their work and said, “How are you doing here? Ayah. That looks easy. Tsk. Tsk.”  One of the men immediately reacted. “What do you mean easy? I have been standing there for more than four hours. My feet are already frozen from not going anywhere at all.”  “Aish. I thought that being a dark mage would make my life easier but I am still doing this menial and tiring work. This is even worst than before, at least before I am not asked to carry things around. Ayah...” When the prey took the bait, Attier is slowly pulling the net to seal the deal.  “They should have picked a stronger person. Don’t they have eyes to see that you are like a twig, easy to snap? Tsk. Why don’t you exchange work with her to stretch your legs too?” The other guy said to the man she was talking to earlier, who is bulkier compared to me. Attier acted offended and refused. “Tsk. I could do it.”  “I’ll do it. A little more of standing here and my legs would really turn into a stone.” Attier still wanted to argue but the man already roughly snatch the box and walked off. She looks annoyed though deep inside she is grinning. The fish took the bait and off he goes. Attier needs to take out someone from their working space as it would be weird and suspicious for her to just suddenly jump in and work in their area. Additionally, an additional personal person in the area would make it look more crowded than other areas which might catch the people in charge’s eyes. Attier then resumed the unfinished work of the guy who just took off. She slightly kinda looks annoyed but she is careful not to overdo it since she needs to get into her target’s good books.  She smoothly did what they are doing. She has been observing them since earlier and the job is not that hard so she was able to pull it off naturally. “Ahhh... I have been doing this since the day I was born. Tsk. Tsk.” She said and then raised her head to look at the others. “Yah. Do you know that if you get close to that person over there and be able to get a special task you’re rank will rise?” Attier motioned to the person in charge that is standing near the door. Of course, what Attier said is all a bluff, she doesn’t even know what position that person holds but she is sure that it is higher than theirs. This is her way of opening a conversation. The guy who told the other man to exchange work with her looked back at her after looking at the person she was pointing at. “Utter nonsense. Where did you ever heard that? That guy is a very ambitious person and if he could just take all the tasks, he would. He would give no opportunity to anyone to rise above him.” “That is not what they told me. They said he is quite friendly.” Attier innocently said. ‘Friendly my foot. Who in this room is friendly? Everyone in this room cares only about themselves. They could even kill just to get power.’ “How did you even get here? No one is friendly in this place. If you really want to raise your rank then you should only go to those people in front. They are the higher-ups and are the only people who could assign tasks depending on how you could impress them but looking at you, you won't make it. You better just be content with your position while you could still keep your life.” He reprimanded Attier while still working. “Even though we are still doing what we used to be doing before entering here, at least we are paid more. If you are not contented and still want more then you will earn your money for nothing. Your death is only around the corner. Tsk.” The woman who is also working with them contemptuously said. ‘Afraid of death but dares to jump in this pit?’ “When I decided to enter, I know what I am going to face and what I may end up to. So... do you know how I could get a task? I may look small and frail but I get incredibly strong when I’m desperate.” Attier continued digging, trying to get some information as to where she should go next.  The woman shook her head. “We warned you.” “I accidentally heard from one of the higher rankings that a rival organization is going to sell their goods in the dark market in Froisan City. In case you haven’t heard, the security against illegal weapons or goods is quite high but the entrance of such things is still possible if you know a proper route to take. Due to the level of difficulty and danger of importing such goods, it is sold at a high price. However, the market there is good so the higher-ups also want to enter Froisan City. If you could find a good route then which I kinda doubt then you can secure a higher rank and reward. Well, that is all I have to say.” He then finished up his box and started a new one. Attier smiled and bob her head. The others thought that she is happy with the mention of having a higher rank and reward but it is actually because she already got a lead for her next destination. It is enough for now. She was about to continue packing when he saw the other guy adjacent to her looking at her. He was not speaking in the entire conversation that went on earlier and kinda looks weird but this type of place is really composed of weird people anyway. However, the thing that makes Attier think that he’s weird is that he is handsome. Even though he tried to hide it, Attier’s eyes are too sharp when it comes to beautiful things that he of course cannot escape. ‘Tsk. What a waste of such a beautiful creature. This is why people must be wary of beautiful things and most especially people.’  She beamed at him and continued packing. The guy continued packing too. When she noticed that no one was watching and everyone is busy. She carefully summoned small bombs out of her spatial ring and planted them inside the box. They are coded to explode after two hours, giving her enough time to leave.  Attier sneakily checked her surroundings again just to make sure and just as she was about to continue what she was doing, she noticed something about the handsome guy.  ‘I was right. Beautiful people shouldn’t be trusted. It looks like we are of the same kind. Haist. I better leave earlier.’ Attier was about to make an excuse so she could leave but before she could speak a loud shout rang across the room.  “Infiltrator!” Then the battle began. Attier looked at the handsome guy and saw that he was about to attack her so she immediately ducked and ran to the other working station.
