Brooklyn
I burst into the cabin, fear strickening my heart as I assumed the worst, to only be thrown in a whole different direction. Standing in the middle of the room was a man, his chisled back facing towards me. His skin tone was the color of bronze, and it shined with sweat under the firelight from the furnace. I continued to look down, only to realize the mistake that I made when I looked at his toned buttocks. I quickly looked back up at face level, my cheeks blushing uncontrollably. I just had broken so many rules with one single glance that I was scared to continue to look. His face turned towards mine, his eyes shining a bright amber, piercing me into the spot I was standing in.
Feelings erupted inside me, Feelings I never had experienced before. Love for the man standing in front of me, the bond that I was taught in classes snagging my heart and tying me to him for eternity.
And then lust, as it trickled in between my legs and up my chest and neck. Saliva built up in the back of my mouth and I quickly swallowed. He growled the word my soul had been wanting to hear and I felt my heart flip in my chest.
"Mate."
when he said it my whole life changed direction to follow his wherever he went. He let go of Blake's arm, who immediately started rubbing and his discomfort snapped me back into my reality. If he really was my mate couldn't he tell that he was my brother? How could he have hurt him in that way.
I leaned down with my hands outstretched for Blake who immediately ran to my embrace. I pulled him in my arms to keep him from any further damage. I walked over to the bookbag and pulled the blanket out and handed it to him.
Him being my mate I had the inclination to trust him. So when he asked me to come with him for my own safety I agreed. I wanted to make sure Blake was safe, more so then just him being my brother. He was the destined alpha of my pack, if we ever planned to rebuild it, it would start with him.
Packing our things quickly and shifting into my wolf to follow him through the woods to an unknown destination. When we reached a entrance to a clearing he shifted and I followed suit. He quickly gotten dressed into a pair of jeans and a t shirt before he asked us to wait on him.
"Let me make sure that everything's safe before your follow me ok?" I nodded my head as a warm feeling washed over me. He was protective and it made my wolf yip in glee. He could be easily everything I ever wanted there was just only one problem. He wasn't an artic wolf.
Now that may not seem like I big deal to most packs, but the Artic wolves have never mated with a wolf other then another artic wolf. We were the purest blood line of wolf, one of the reasons that we were able to make enchantments. We were the closest to the Goddess herself. So for her to break this cycle seemed strange and I wondered what the bigger plan was for us.
When he walked out I pulled Blake closer to me to make sure that he was ok. I could tell by the way that he leaned on me that he was starting to get tired. we've done a lot of traveling today. I rubbed his arm as I continued to watch the woods waiting for any kind of symbol telling us to come through. I hoped that through all this that Blake wouldn't be affected too much. When he came of age he would have to go home, to help rebuild our pack, if the was even possible. I also have to understand that it will be his choice at the end of the day if he goes or not.
Finally my mate poked his head in and waved for us to follow. I picked up Blake and heald him on my hip as I walked out. We were behind a building with bright lights coming from the area around it. I squinted my eyes as I walked forward. My Mate pulled me closer to him and the spark ignited on my skin. I audibly gasped and pulled slightly away, but I couldn't stop myself from leaning back again. There goes another rule broken.
A man walked up, his mouth held open as he looked at me and back at my Mate.
"Uhhh, hi. " he smiled awkwardly and reached out his hand to me. confused by the gesture I just stared at his hand which fell limply to his side.
"This is my Beta, James. James this is my Mate uhhh." My Mate stammered and I frowned slightly realizing we never exchanged names.
"Brooklyn. And this is my little brother Blake." I said as I placed my hand to my heart and raised the fist towards the moon.
"Uh Nate, can we talk in private real quick?" Nate nodded and let his arm from around me go. I shivered slightly from the lack of heat while they walked a good bit away. I couldn't make out what they were saying but it was definitely about me from the constant looks from the both of them. I had a strange feeling of Unacceptance as I watched and I considered turning and running from the spot I stood. But even if I wanted to the bond kept me glued to the ground where I stood.
After what seemed like an agreement they walked back to me and Nate instantly pulled me back to his side. He lead me to a vehicle and opened the door for me and I just stared for a moment before sitting down with Blake in my lap. Nate grabbed him gently and I tightened my grip.
"I'm just going to put him in the back, ok?" The tone of his voice made me relax and he got Blake in the backseat and fastening him down with some kind of rope from the seat. He came backed to me and fastened me down with a loud click.
We looked into each other's eyes and got lost for a moment. He brushed a stand of hair from my face and the sparks made me blush. We snapped back to reality when James cleared his throat. He had already gotten settled in the backseat. Nate chuckled and got into the seat next to me and started the vehicle. I felt the vibrations and gripped the seat. I turned and looked at Blake, but he had already passed out from exhaustion.
"Have you ever rode in a car before?" Nate asked and I shook my head. He grabbed my hand and squeezed before we started moving. His fingers gently rubbing my knuckles helped me relax as I looked out at the trees going by in a blur. I felt my eyes start to droop and Before I knew it I fell asleep.
