THE MISSING LUNA   Written By: Rosapearl Chapter 1 Alpha Ronald walked into his palace with his body guards who stood at attention as he walked in. He was the most important man in the whole kingdom, the heir to the throne and leader of the pack. His father, now an old wolf was counting down to the day he would finally leave the earth and now, the whole kingdom rested on Alpha Ronald. Ronald was a tall hulking man with chest but hair and a huge eagle tattoo adorning his lower back. His eyes were the colour of a midnight sky but when he was in his wolf form, it was jet black. As he walked into the palace, Ronald had a feeling that something special was about to take place. He couldn't quite place his hands on it but the feeling was there, just a faint thrumming. "Greetings Father", Ronald said, bowing slightly. Even though Alpha Fredrick was old and gray, he was still the Alpha until the very day he dies. Ronald walked towards where his father sat, taking his small hands which has shrinked over the years in his much larger ones. "Is that you son?", Alpha Fredrick said. His father's eyesight was failing and the older wolf had a hard time recognizing his people. He was helped by the palace maid since his Luna, Ronald's mother was long dead in a war that Ronald hopee to erase from his memory. "Yes, it's me father. Your eyesight is getting. Shall i call the doctor?", Roland asked. "Not to worry son, there's no need. I would soon be joining my ancestors, it's only a matter of time", the old man chuckled. Ronald sighed. His father was fond of talking this way it wasn't new to him but still, he wished he couldn't remind him of the day he finally dies. "Have you been fed father?", Ronald asked. "Yes. That maid you assigned to help me almost fed me too full, can't blame her though, a man's got to eat when he can", Fredrick said. Ronald laughed, even though his father's health was failing, he still had his wits and charms with him. "Son, the full moon is almost here. Even though my eyesight is almost dead, I can still feel it. You have to pick a Luna soon, time is running out", Frederick said. "Father, I'm sure before the arrival of the full moon, I will get a Luna. Don't worry about that, the Moon goddess has helped us so far and she would continue to do so", Ronald said. "Very well. I hope she's right on time this time", Frederick muttered. "I'll be going to my chambers now father. Please call if you need me, I need to take some rest", Ronald said, rising to his feet. "Sure my boy, take all the rest you need". Ronald chuckled as he made his way into his chambers. His room was one of the biggest in the whole palace asides from Alpha Fredrick's which took up more than half of the left wing. Ronald's room was decorated with a dark blue hue that complimented his eyes. When his mood changed, the murals of the room changed also. Now, the colour of the room was a light yellow which means that Ronald was in a hopeful mood especially since he was expecting the Moon goddess's visit. Deciding to take a shower, Ronald stripped of all his clothes and his ripped and shine under the evening sun. He stepped into shower, sighing as the water cascaded down his back. There was a lot on his mind. Apart from the issue of his intended Luna, Ronald often felt confused on how to run the kingdom. He hated to admit it but he didn't have the wisdom and patience of his father. Ronald had a temper which easily gave way at the slightest provocation. Though he tried all he could to control it, it never seemed to go away. Few minutes later, Ronald stepped out of the shower as he made his way into his room. Pulling out his phone as he dressed, he scrolled through all the calls and text messages he had missed. One in particular caught his eye, it was from one of the girls whom he tried desperately to fend off. Ronald wasn't interested in having any relationship, his father's health and the kingdom were top priority and he wouldn't trade that for anything else. Ronald had no idea how all the women were head over heels in love with him. If he knew, maybe he would have a change of mind in picking a Luna from amongst them. He was oblivious to all of their advancs and tried desperately hard to discard the ever growing pile of gifts that these women continually brought in. Ronald looked through the message and discovered that this girl was in fact coming over to his house to see him. Ronald quickly replied the message, informing he that he wouldn't be around. "She isn't the one", an ethreal voice said. Going by the voice, Ronald knew who had arrived. He fell to his knees, bowing slightly as the Moon goddess floated in. Her long white hair was tied into a loose ponytail and her gown which was the purest white Ronald had ever since floated behind her. Without a doubt, she was simply stunning. "Greetings Moon goddess", Roland said, bowing a bit. The Moon goddess floated towards a high backed chair. She sat on it gracefully while waiting for Roland to do the same. "I have come not because I have found a Luna but because I have seen things, things that you need to lnow",the Moon goddess said. Ronald remained quiet not because he didn't know what to say but because it was customary to remain silent when she was speaking. Her news gave Ronald quite a shock as this was the last thing he expected her to say. "You haven't found a Luna for me yet?", Ronald said. He needed to be sure of what he heard. The Moon goddess smiled and she appeared to be glowing. Ronald stared at his reading table, not quite seeing it. His mind was in a whirlwind of thoughts. "You have a Luna but she isn't in this kingdom. She's in a far away land, a place where the rains are forbidden .She would eventually become yours but there are certain things you need to know", the Moon goddess said. Ronald stared at her, her words were getting more confusing by the minute. He wanted to ask millions of questions but he had a feeling that the Moon goddess wouldn't be so patient to answer all of his questions. From all she had told him, he had to find his Luna and by himself. "Remember, you're the future Alpha of this kingdom and the decisions you make now would one way or the other affect your rule. Be wise. Not to worry, I'll help you every step of the way", the Moon goddess said. She left as silently as she came. Ronald stared into space as he mulled over the moon goddess's words. The image of a young girl filled his mind, he had no doubt that that was the girl the Moon goddess was referring to. Sophia, a girl he had secretly been lusting after had to be his Luna. The only problem here was that Sophia didn't care much about Alpha Ronald. In fact she was the only girl in the entire kingdom who wasn't affected by his charms and good looks. Ronald stood up abruptly as his mind raced on how he was going to convince Sophia that she was his Luna. If there was one thing he knew about her, she was very stubborn and not easy to convince. He was determined and he vowed to win her heart, he was certain that he would succeed after all, he wasn't called the Alpha for nothing. He dresses up quickly, putting on some grey slacks and a white low neck shirt. His brown loafers were polished to perfection. He stepped out of his room with one goal on his mind and that was to win the heart of Sophia. Alpha Ronald was determined and there was no telling what a determined man could do.
