Captured Fate

Chapter 13

[Amara’s POV]

    Not shortly after I regained control, my wonderful mate and alpha got a warning through our pack link that somebody here is a threat and wants to take me. Who knows what they want, let alone if I’m the only person He wants to take. Poor omega girl, whoever warned us was cut off, mid warning, we all felt the pain of her death but the question is who did it. Who would kill someone from our pack? Let alone be ballsy enough to take a Luna. Brian, Jude, and I finally make it to his, well our room. The walls are silver-black with mountains painted all around, just like my room, besides the fact that there wasn’t any color in his room other than an orange picture frame with my, wait is that my Luna ceremony photo? I wonder when he got that printed and put in here, hmph it’s really sweet of him. The bed was an Alaskan King with a gray comforter and black pillows. There is a pair of light gray, suede tub chairs on the left side of his room with a little glass coffee table between the two, they have fuzzy black throw blankets on them. This room may not have that much color, but it sure is cozy.

    “Amara, my love,” Brian said, breaking my train of thought, “The elder council should be here soon, I have some of the pack warriors patrolling the borders. Skyler and another elite warrior, Tobias, will be here soon to guard the door. I have cameras in our hallway but we need to be prepared.” He said while letting Jude go and pulling out a laptop from a nightstand. When he opened it you could see our hallway, I couldn’t even see the cameras in the hall but they were there. Jude came up to me and I picked him up, walking to the bed and sitting down with him in my arms. “It’s going to be okay my little wolf.” I kissed his head and he held onto me tighter than ever. I knew he was scared, and honestly, I was afraid too, but I was only afraid I would fail to protect the one person I was chosen to guard and care for. “Brian, baby do you have any ideas on who it could be?” I asked him, referring to the man who wants to take me. 

    He let out a sigh, “I have one idea but you won’t like it,” I knew immediately who he was talking about, and honestly I had that feeling too I just didn’t want to accept it. “Apollo,” I said in a monotone voice before he could even say his name. “Yeah, how did you know?” He asked when he shook his head, “never mind that for now, we have our company on their way,” he pointed to the video feed of the hallway. I nodded my head and looked to Jude, “The elder council will be here any minute, we will need to tell them about you so they will help us protect you, and don’t worry Jude I will lay down my life before I let them or anyone else, take or harm you.” I said as I gave him a tight hug, he nodded his sweet little head and I started to lay him down. He must be exhausted shifting so young and so little, “It’s okay, I know you’re tired. Get some rest little one.” I say as I tuck him into the oversized bed. 

[Elder Laura’s POV]

    As we hurried our way to the alpha and luna’s chambers I caught a whiff of a different wolf, it was sweet like luna Amara but more floral, like lilacs I believe is the scent I’m thinking of, yet luna Amara’s scent is somewhat off as well, it’s sweeter than normal. I wonder if she could be with child, I thought as we reached their bedroom door. Alpha Brian opened their chamber door just as we were about to knock, “Please come in, we have a lot we need to talk about.” I looked past him and found the cause of the lilac scent, but it was a mere child, a little boy with wavy brown hair, laying next to the luna under the covers of some oversized bed. Alpha Brian must have caught on to who I was looking at because he said, “I will introduce you all to him when we are behind closed doors, and has anyone seen my elite guards that are supposed to be here?”

    We all started to walk into their chambers, “Yes they realized they were mates so they stayed behind to make a better plan, they will be here soon.” Elder Jeremy said. Brian nodded his head as he closed the door, Luna Amara got off the bed silently, “Thank you for coming elders, we have a lot to discuss, this is Jude, he is a special wolf and the moon goddess assigned me as his protector.” She let out in one smooth sentence, the other elders started murmuring and talking amongst themselves but I was focused on the luna before me. If she is with a child, she is very early in the pregnancy. 

    “Luna Amara, may I have a word with you? Alone?” I asked and everyone went silent, “Of course Elder Laura, my old room is right across the hall and Brian will be monitoring the hallway for anybody or anything, we can speak there.” I nodded my head and followed her to her old chambers across the hall. As soon as we closed and locked the door I turned her to face me, “I believe you are with child Luna Amara, if you are you must be extremely careful, especially now that you are a protector. This baby or babies will be highly valued in the Supernatural world, collectors will not only be after you and Jude but after your heirs. You must teach them how to defend themselves and until you can do that, you will have to do everything in your power to keep the children and yourself safe.” She was stunned, to say the least, but we had other business to get to, I pushed her along with me as I unlocked and opened the door, walking side by side with her back to their chambers.
