Earth,2023 Arthur opened the toilet door and walked into mike, who pushed him back into the toilet. His glasses fell over, and he tried to pick it up, but Mike kicked it away. Arthur was 5 feet 9 inches tall, 16-years-old with black spiky hair, eyes and a friendly aura. “So fantastic of you to come to school today, King Arthur.” Mike teased Arthur. “I...I.....was....sick.” Arthur stammered as he kept taking a step back. “Where are you running to? "Do you think I am scared?” Mike asked as he grabbed Arthur’s collar. Mike was 6 feet 2 inches tall with a black mohawk hairstyle and hazel eyes. He could feel Arthur’s fear and that seemed to fuel his sadistic thoughts. “I have a boxing match against that dummy, Wilson, and I don’t want to lose against him again. "That's where you come in, I want you to be my practice dummy,” Mike said as he released his grip on Arthur’s collar. “Su...su...sure, I will be happy to help you at any time.” Arthur stammered as he forced a smile. “Meet me at the school gate after closing hours,” Mike said, and walked out of the toilet. Arthur picked up his glasses and wore them. As he looked at his reflection in the toilet mirror, he went down memory lane. He was 13years old when he lost his parents and was thrown into the foster system. His school was changed and, unfortunately, he was placed in Mike’s class. Mike became jealous of Arthur and that was how he became Mike's target. He was bullied and humiliated in every way unimaginable by Mike. At first, Arthur reported Mike to the school, but the matter was dismissed as play between friends. Because Arthur reported Mike, he became angry and bulled only Arthur. Arthur once tried standing up to Mike, but he got knocked out easily due to Mike being an illegal underground boxer. “Out of all the students in this school, why did you decide to bully me?” Arthur asked Mike one day after he was beaten by Mike. “Because you are smarter than me.” Mike replied Arthur and punched his nose. Mike and his friends laughed as blood gushed out of Arthur’s nose. Arthur felt an unimaginable amount of pain from his broken nose. To make matters worse, his foster parents don’t care about him a bit. They were only interested in being foster parents because of the money involved in it. They ignored him every time he came home with injuries. Although they provided for his basic needs, to them, he was merely a source of income. He had a lot of opportunities to commit suicide, but he didn’t because he believed things would get better. Thinking about everything, Arthur asked himself: “If my parents were alive, would my life have been any better?” He walked out of the toilet and went back to the classroom. “Hey! "What happened to your clothes? "Why are they wet?” Jason, Arthur’s only friend, asked Arthur. Jason is Arthur's only friend and the only person that cares about him in the world. "What do you think happened?” Arthur said and sighted. " Didn’t you tell him that you were ill, couldn’t he let you off just for today?” Jason said as he stared at Mike’s back. “Jason and Arthur, do you have something you want to share with the class?” the teacher asked as he stared at them. "NO!" Jason and Arthur responded at the same time. "Then keep quiet and stop disturbing my class," the teacher said as he ignored how wet Arthur's clothes were. "So what do you plan to do?" Jason asked Arthur after the class ended. "This is my idea,” Arthur said. "What is the plan?” Jason asked as they walked to their lockers. "I will run home immediately schools end. ” Arthur replied Jason. “Do you seriously think that will work?” Jason asked worriedly. “Do you have any other ideas?” Arthur asked. "I know a secret place that will lead you to outside of school. I will show you after school. Immediately the final bell rang, Arthur and Jason sneaked out of the classroom, squeezing through the hallway filled with students. They went to the back of the school compound and passed through the broken school fence into the forest at the back of the school, only to find Mike waiting for them. " We have a deserter guy,” Mike joked and his friends laughed. "How?" Arthur asked. "I will confess, Jason led you here on purpose," Jason said. "That's a lie, Jason will never ….." Arthur was shocked to see Jason's guilty face. “Am sorry Arthur. He said he was going to stop beating you and start beating me instead. "I had to protect myself”, Jason said, and walked away. “No, you were my friend.” Arthur rambled. "I told you, no one cares about you," Mike said as he and his friends laughed. "You are already growing wings, I need to cut them off." “No, not today,” Arthur thought. In that flight or fight moment, Arthur made a decision that changed his life; he bolted. Mike and his friends chased after Arthur as he ran for his life, even bumping into people on the walkway. They were closing in on him. “I could lose them in the traffic,” Arthur thought. Without checking the road, Arthur crossed the road and got hit by a truck. He hit his head heavily on the ground and felt immense pain. He looked at the walkway and saw Mike and his friends running away from the accident scene. “Finally, peace,” Arthur thought as he looked at Jason running away. The driver of the truck came down and called 911 immediately while a crowd surrounded Arthur. “M0m,Dad, I am coming,” Arthur said as he felt his vision fading away.
