Chapter 2

John just got into Hallway Cottage. How empty this place seemed without his grandfather ... he had so many memories ... everywhere he saw his old man. Playing together, eating, talking... He was missing his grandfather! At that time someone interrupted him. "Sir, we are ready. Everyone is waiting for you at your grandfather's office” A maid told him. "I will be there in a minute Amber." Said and proceeded. He opened the big door of his grandfather's office and saw there three people: his grandfather's lawyer, his grandfather's wife and his grandfather's childhood friend. John sat next to Lizz, his grandfather's wife. The lawyer opened the envelope he had in front of him and began to read loudly "This is the Testament of Gerald Fishler John Hertz. My beloved, if you read my covenant means I have already died. To my favourite friend, Tim, I leave my home in London. Tim I know how much you loved this house. You always liked to sit next to the fireplace and drink whiskey. So I give it to my friend in order to remember me. In my favorite wife, Lizz I leave my home in Paris and my home in New York. I wish Lizz that you will always remember our time together and always think of me with love. Finally, to my favorite grandson I leave Hallway Cottage, the residence we spent so many years together, as well as our company, Hertz Enterprises, at 100%, provided that he will marry Eirina Black, our neighbours daughter, in a month. If my wish will not come true, the company will come to my wife's hands by 100%. I wish you are all well. I loved you so much everyone. Be careful! Your favorite husband, grandfather and friend.” John was breathing heavily. What? What was all that about? He stared the lawyer and asked him to repeat his grandfather’s will... the second time that the lawyer read his grandpa’s will, he was prepared. “That son of a b@@@@“ he thought angrily. How could he do this to him???? Was he insane? He knew how much John loved their company. He knew how many years John tried to persuade his grandfather that he was ready to be the new CEO.... For God’s sake! He knew that Eirina had made such a fool of him! He told him all about her! He told him about the child and that Eirina tried to trick him. How could he put him in such a dilemma???! “Son of a b@@@@“ he thought again and without any other word he exited the office. He walked through the gardens... he needed a cigarette! He hadn’t smoked for years, but now he needed one... John looked at the Hallway Cottage. What he should do? Did the Hallway Cottage worth it? He then noticed that Lizz was coming for him. She was smiling... “The great John! What happened in there? Why you run away?” “None of your business” he replied “Indeed, it will be my business, cause we both know that you will not marry that girl”. Lizz had such a big smile in her face. John looked at her with anger. s**t! She knew how difficult he would take his company from her. Indeed, only a miracle could provide him the company. “Mark my words Lizz. The company was, is and will always be mine.” Said to her and walked away. “Don’t forget to invite me to your wedding, honey” she shouted. Holy crap! He had to find Eirina Black! He had to marry her! He could not let Lizz have his company! Never! He immediately called his detective crew and ordered them to find Eirina. Two days before His phone was ringing. “Hertz” “Sir, we found her.” Said the voice “Where is she?” “She lives here in London. She works for Mc&Miller Law Company. We delivered you the report in your mail.” John ended the call and saw the mail. He saw her photo. It must have been recently cause he saw a different person. A different Eirina. She was beautiful! She was desirable. The photo had been taken outside of the company she was working for. She was tall in her stilettos. She looked so sophisticated in her skirt and blouse. In the next photo, she was kissing someone. A man. Who was he? Anger started to grow inside of him. Who was this man that touched his soon-to-be-wife? Was her boyfriend? Her lover? He was not her husband. She was unmarried. The report said it... something temporary? A temporary guy? He hoped so... “Ok John” he thought “let’s go and say hello to her!”
