Brooklynne's POV:
I pull away from Emmitt feeling a mixture of things. I was embarrassed past the point of being able to think for myself. I was a little angry that he did that in front of everyone and Mr. Hawkins when I never said okay to his proposal. I quickly got scared when in the corner of my eye I saw Ryleigh glaring at me with her eyes. Her arms were folded over her chest and she was gritting her teeth.
I looked at her with a blank look and quickly walked towards Mr. Hawkins. The number of eyes on my back right now felt like my skin was getting ripped open from their stares. This is not at all how I wanted this to go. I didn't want them to all look at me differently than them. I wanted to appear to be the same as them and not have them think I thought I was better than
