Axel’s P.O.V.
I knew why Bella lied to my parents about my conference meeting. I didn’t have any meetings but she did only to lessen the tension in the room. Victoria didn’t utter a word throughout the conversation but glared at Bella as if she wanted to kill her at this very instant. I knew my parents. They were very loyal to each other and loved each other so much. They wanted a girl for me that loved me like them and stayed loyal towards me. Mom had high expectations from Victoria but when I told her what she did, she was angry and disappointed because she never approved of a girl who threw herself on a man who was not even her boyfriend.
During our meal, she talked with Bella about her family and background. She was surprised to know about Bella’s family’s beliefs.
