Chapter 16Luckily we were scheduled for rec time the next day, or I might have tried to go over the wall just to get a few moments alone with Kyer. But the memory of the near-kiss in sand on the sixth level kept me going. We could possibly be alone in the Rec Room, if we planned it right. My thought was to ditch the girls on the second level and find a floor no one else occupied.
Easier said than done.
The playground was a make-out spot, to be sure, but Kyer wasn’t my Other. In my mind, I’d taken to thinking of him as my other Other, but somehow I didn’t think anyone else would see our relationship, such as it was, in quite the same manner. Besides, the screen above the door to the sixth floor overlooked the whole area. There wasn’t anywhere I thought we could hide for long.
