Derek POV “Are you okay?” I asked Lexie the second time since we left Richard. She gave me a sweet smile even though her cheeks were red. “I'm okay. I will be fine, she said. But I knew she was not fine, especially with the way the question the journalist asked me. It made her look like some cheap, desperate housewife, and I knew Lexie was not one, not to talk of the fact that Damien had insisted she come to the wedding even though I knew she should not come. It will be too much for her, seeing someone who almost rapes her, who broke her heart, walk freely and even marry her rival. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close to me. Her eyes widened. “Derek, what do you think you are doing? Journalists are everywhere. Do you know what would happen if they saw us like this?”
