“I...I felt a pulse” the nurse said holding Lexie's hands. My eyes widened, this better not be a dream.
“I felt a pulse!” She shouted this time, a wide smile on her face as she rushed to put on the mask.
I stood there too stunned to move. Everything was happening so fast. The nurses there were running around, removing the white cloth, and starting the beeping machine. But the bottom line was that Lexie was not dead. She was alive.
“Call the doctor” the nurse who I had earlier begged ordered and moved to me
“Sir please can you walk out of the OR. We would try all we can this time” she reassured me with a smile.
I nodded and walked away, standing at the window my eyes fixed on Lexie. The surgeon rushed quickly and they started operating on her.
