CHAPTER 2 HEAVEN WHITE

 He’s still holding my hand. And I can feel his arm wraps my body. “Oh I’m sorry. Here, let me help you.” He insisted. We go downstairs to pick up all of my stuff. Geez! My phone broke! And I cannot reply my mom to her message. He gave me all of my things and I thanked him. He gave me a sweet smile. “Next time you should not texting while walking.” He said. “Okay, thank you again.” I said to him.

 One of his friends is calling him. “Goodbye, have nice weekdays!” Then he walks away. That was so close. I thought my head will go to hit on the floor. “Oh princess!” My heart began to pump faster. I know that voice! It’s Liza. I turn around and gave her a smile. “Hey Queen Liza, you know I am in a hurry right now, my classes is about to start.” I said to her. “Hahaha! This is the second time! First my clothes, second my king?” She said.      

  “I do not know what you’re talking about, please? I need to go back to my room.” I begged her. “Okay, you’re lucky! I forgive you, but the moment that I see you flirting with him again. Believe me darling. I’m going to kill you! Kidding! Hahaha! Out of my way nerd!” I stepped aside with my heads down. “Mark my words nerdy girl.” She laughed like an evil witch and walks away with her friends.

  I entered the room and sit. I’m not late! Thank goodness the professor is not here yet. I opened my book and read all my lessons. Then the professor came in and instructed us to get our notebook to take note all he says

 It’s already 1600h and I have volleyball rehearsal to the gym. As soon as the professor released us, I grab my bag and my entire book and then headed to my locker room. As I opened my locker I saw that my rubber shoes are full of blades and thumbtacks inside of it. I cannot believe that there is someone has guts to put my life in danger! I got my shoes out and get all the blades and thumbtacks out.           

 I wear my volleyball jersey T-shirt and short on. And then I went straight to the gym. I entered and saw my team mates do spiking, tossing and serving the ball. “Hey! Heaven! Come on! Join us!” I heard one of my team mates said. “I do stretching first!” I shouted back. After the warm-ups I joined the team. I’m a spiker and a blocker.           

  After rehearsal I went back to my locker to get my bag and books. When I opened it, there is a note says: “Hi nerdy! Did like my present?” I crumpled the paper and throw it in the trash can. It’s 1800h and I need to go home. My mother’s going to be worried because I did not reply to her message back. I changed my clothes and go outside the comfort room. Now I’m standing waiting shed where bus stop and wait.

  Then suddenly the rain starts falling. I don’t have any jacket or umbrella with me. The ground is begins to wet. I saw a light coming from a bus or a car, maybe and it’s going in my direction where I am standing.it is getting closer and closer, and then I saw it closely? I saw Liza’s car. I turn around and wishing she will not see me standing there. Luckily, she’s did not see me. And now there is a bus. Thank goodness.

  I went back home around 1900h and my mom was so worried. “Hey, you did not reply to my message.” She said. “I’m sorry mother, my phone is dead.” I answered. he took a towel to wrap me around, and ordered me to take a bath. after bathing I went down to the kitchen and ate with everyone.     

  “How is the class? Is it fun?” Mom asked me. I don’t want to look at her directly because she will notice that my cheek is red from the slap. “Yes mom! I met many new students and I also have friends.” I answered. But what she did not know was the opposite of everything that was happening to me. I don’t want her to worry about me. I’m grown up and I can handle myself. So I just want to hide it rather than add to what she thinks.

  After eating I washed all the plates and went back to our room. I opened my book and start reading. I stopped when I remembered what happened at the school. He so nice and gentle. I never encountered a guy like him. “What the heck I am thinking! Focus Heaven! Focus!” I scolded myself. I don’t want to be close to anyone. I want to avoid talking to anybody! I only trusted myself. Me! Myself! And I!

  “Hi Honey!” I saw my mother standing in front of the door holding a glass of milk. Then she walked towards me and placed the glass on the table. “Hey sweetie you don’t have to pressure yourself in studying. All I want is to graduate you from college.” She holds my right hand.

“Mom? I promise you that I’ll be one of the top students. I will graduate and get a job quickly. So do not worry about me. I can handle this. Okay?” I smiled at her and give her a smack kissed on her cheek.

 “Okay, dear, consume your milk and sleep.” She kissed me on the forehead and went out of our room. “I love you mom.” I whispered. I also remembered that my cell phone was broken. I put the book down and get my bag. “Oh gosh. How can I replace this one?” I asked myself. I tried to remove the battery and put it back again, and then turned it on, still not working. I put it back in my bag and sighed.

 I drank my milk and lay down on the bed. “Oh God Father. Help me get through all of our problems.” I whispered. I get my blanket to cover all of my body. I started to sleep, but my mother didn’t come back. My eyelids begin to fall and I didn’t noticed that I fell asleep

 “Wake up Heaven.” I heard my mom’s voice. “Time to get up you have school today.” I sat on the bed and see the clock. “Good morning mom!” I greeted. “Same to you sweetie.” I went to the kitchen to brush my teeth and go to shower. When I finished, I sat on the chair to have my breakfast.

 “Do you want to tell me something dear.” My mother asked. I am confused. “Is there something you want to hear?” I looked at here and laughed. I notice that her face is serious. “I’m sorry mom.” I apologized. She put my cell phone on the table. “For the second time. Do you want to tell me something about this?” Now she is referring to the phone. 

 “I’m sorry. It was broken yesterday. It fell down the stair and scattered all of its parts.” I told her. “Then why did you tell me yesterday night, that your phone is dead?” She asked me again. “It’s because, I don’t want you to buy me another phone mom.” I looked down. I felt shy and guilt. “Is that a reason? You can tell me directly sweetheart and I don’t want you lying to me.”

 “I know. I’m sorry.” I apologized again. “Next time, okay?” She adds. “Yes, mom.” She hugs me at the back and gives me a kissed. I can tell that my mom is so sweet and very understandable. “Okay. you have finish your breakfast quickly if you do not want to be late for class.” She laughed. I quickly finished my breakfast and start walking head to school.

  Yes, I am walking since I started studying here. And I am not shy because of that. I proud! It is an exercised with me every morning. So it is an advantage that I have a good health. Well the truth is, I cannot afford the fare for a ride. But it’s okay. I know everything is a preparation for my best next season.

 I am now standing in front of the school gate. I inhale and exhale. Another day begin. I am now walking on the field headed to my classroom. While walking I opened my book for double check the lessons yesterday. “Watch out!” Suddenly I heard someone yelling. I stop reading to look around when something hit my head.

 I fell to the ground. “What a lovely morning.” I whispered. I get my put myself together and stood up. I saw a ball at my feet and man running towards me. “Hey. Are you okay?” That face is familiar. The boy who saved me yesterday. “Hi! It’s you again.” I smiled while holding my head. I’m a bit dizzy.

  “I’m so sorry.” He holds my both cheeks and checked my face.
