Prologue
She was a striking woman with waist-length hair and an unparalleled tall figure. Even standing on the crowded streets of medieval London, she stood out, exceptionally outstanding. The woman wore a black leather jacket and black jeans, lazily leaning against a phone booth, her sunglasses covering her inscrutable eyes, making it impossible to see her true face. "Miss, waiting for someone?" A few thugs emerged from a dark alley, surrounding the woman. Although London is a bustling city, its crime rate is alarmingly high. Seeing a few thugs bullying a lone woman here is not surprising. "Get lost." The woman coldly spoke, not even glancing at them. "Hey! So fierce, are you angry because you can't find your lover? No problem, come play with us, we guarantee you'll have a good time." An unruly hand tried to touch her proud face. A cold gun pressed against the unruly hand. "Get lost." Her words were full of impatience. "Don't be so fierce, miss." Another hand reached out. "Bang!" A shocking gunshot rang out. "Didn't I tell you to get lost?" The woman coldly glanced at the thug lying on the ground, sneering in her heart: foolish people. They could do any heinous thing in front of her, it had nothing to do with her. But they shouldn't have provoked her. Anyone who offended her wouldn't be let off easily; they had to pay the price. The other thugs looked at her, not expecting her to actually shoot. They thought she was just trying to scare them. After lifting their injured companion, they fled in a hurry. "Trash." The woman slowly leaned back against the phone booth, putting the gun back in her pocket. "Seen enough? If so, come out." She spoke to a figure at the street corner. "As expected of Ghost Shadow, you noticed me immediately." A blond man emerged from the corner, smiling as he walked towards the woman. Ghost Shadow coldly extended her hand. "The information, give me the information." She was waiting for him for that information. "You really are as outstanding as the rumors say, Ghost Shadow." The man took out a brown envelope from his pocket. "Here it is, Edward. The higher-ups want you to deal with him within seven days. This guy is tricky, reportedly having hired several bodyguards to protect him." Ghost Shadow glanced at him. "Doesn't matter, he will die for sure." There was no one Ghost Shadow couldn't kill. "Good luck, Ghost Shadow." The man extended his hand to her. "Hmph." Ghost Shadow coldly glanced at him, then walked away without looking back. "Indeed as cold as the rumors say. Ghost Shadow—the coldest assassin in 'The Order'." The man murmured as he watched Ghost Shadow leave. The Thames River, near the Tower of London The weather was clear, and a luxurious boat slowly sailed on the river, with laughter occasionally heard from it. "Come, little girl, let me kiss you, and this stack of money is yours." Edward, holding a girl from the countryside, leaned in with his oily mouth. "Edward, I want it too!" Another girl leaned in, and Edward took the opportunity to grope her chest. Men are naturally lustful. Ghost Shadow disdainfully turned her face away, continuing her job of serving drinks. The information was accurate; he was indeed a lustful man. During his trip to the countryside, he indulged in nightly revelry, holding women on both sides. Moreover, this guy had a preference for ancient beauties, so all the girls on the boat were dressed in ancient costumes to cater to his needs. For this mission, Ghost Shadow also changed into ancient attire to get close to Edward. She slowly placed the wine tray on the table, her eyes scanning Edward, looking for an opportunity to kill him. Edward noticed the extraordinary woman. "Come here, little beauty, tell me your name?" The lustful fish took the bait. Ghost Shadow looked at him without a word. "Why don't you come? Do you want money?" Edward took out a stack of bills and threw them at Ghost Shadow. "What's this stack of money worth!" Ghost Shadow glanced at the bills disdainfully. "Do you know how much your life is worth, Edward?" She slowly drew a gun from her pocket, aiming at him. Edward widened his eyes. "You... you..." "'The Order' sent me to end you, Edward." She shot him twice without hesitation, clean and neat. The girls on the boat screamed at the gunshots, causing chaos. Several bodyguards rushed out, seeing the scene. "You dare kill me..." Edward, lying in a pool of blood, pointed at the cold Ghost Shadow, then, with his last strength, took out a device from his pocket and pressed a button. "I was prepared... I knew 'The Order' wouldn't spare me... so taking a 'The Order' assassin with me isn't too much..." A bomb! Ghost Shadow instantly realized, quickly moving towards the mast to leave immediately. "Ghost Shadow, I've been waiting for you." A man followed her out of the ship, holding a gun. Damn, she met her enemy here. Ghost Shadow turned to face her long-time nemesis, Gabriel. "I've been waiting for you, Ghost Shadow. Today, let's settle this!" Gabriel raised his gun, aiming at Ghost Shadow. "I've been waiting for this moment for years—" She had no time to waste with this guy. Ghost Shadow didn't speak, quickly drawing her gun and shooting Gabriel's hand before he could act. "Stay here and play by yourself!" She shot his leg, then jumped into the river. "You... won't escape..." Gabriel grabbed a harpoon from the ship and shot at the quickly swimming Ghost Shadow. "Damn!" Ghost Shadow felt a sharp pain in her shoulder, losing all strength. "Let's die together..." Gabriel climbed the mast, then jumped into the river. The Thames River's waves surged, a huge wave hit Ghost Shadow, pulling her into a deep whirlpool, into an unknown future...
