Katrina stood in front of the mirror, staring at the dress that Yasmin had made her wore. She wondered if it was a good fit for the orientation party.
She wore a crop-top and bum short with black jacket. The red dye in her hair made her all the more discomfort.
She looked like a total different person, more like Yasmin.
Katrina pressed her lips together, picking her purse and try to fall down on the heel shoes. She strode carefully picking her steps as she head down.
When she saw Yasmin with Jace, she assumed he was about to bully her again and thought to rush over to stop him but then, Yasmin moved closer, and the two of them were kissing.
Her heart hammered against her chest, she didn’t realized that she had gripped her chest, her jaw dropped and her eyes widened.
Tears rushed to her eyes as she stayed froze, unable to look away.
Jace was appalled at the sudden attack, he pushed Yasmin off instantly, wiping his lips with the back of his hand, his face contorted in disgust.
He was about to lash out at her, when his lids flipped up and he saw Katrina standing at the edge top of the stairs.
His lips parted, looking stupefied.
Yasmin who noticed his gaze, followed his gaze and saw Katrina standing there. A scowl crept on her face as she cussed silently in her heart.
She moved to rush at her but Jace brushed past her and got to Katrina first.
Katrina who was still in a daze, blinked rapidly, taking a moment to come out of the shock. She tried to force a smile.
“You two…?” she murmured.
Jace could read her thoughts from the expression evident on her face, he jaw clenched as he suddenly grabbed her hand.
“Come with me” he said and dragged her to his room.
Katrina only tried to protest after he snap the door knob locked, but he pulled her back, forcing her with his arms against the wall.
“Let go. What are you doing?” she fought, trying to push him away but he didn’t let go.
Rather, he let her threw her little punches against his chest and watched her pass out her anger.
It was good to see that she was bothered by this.
When Katrina saw that he wouldn’t budge, she stopped, panting a bit hard, feeling drained, and her feet hurt too.
“Are you done? I never knew you were capable of throwing a tantrum” he said, with a side smirk.
Katrina stared into his eyes and saw that he was enjoying whatever this was. “You’re such a big jerk. How could you be kissing my best friend? You just...” she couldn’t finish, recollecting the intimate moment.
Her face flushed quickly and she pressed her lips together, looking away.
Jace’s smirk widened. He could hear her heartbeat. “I just what? Wanna tell me?” he teased.
He grasped her chin and lift her face up, forcing her to look into his eyes, while his searched curiously.
“Tell how you felt when you saw her kiss me” he demanded.
Katrina clenched her fists against the wall, trying not to slouch, she bite her lips before answering.
‘That’s not the point. You are…. just…. a bad person” she stuttered.
Jace chuckled, finding her amusing the more he gets to know her. He moved closer to her.
“Really? Why do you think that?” he asked, teasing her further.
Katrina pressed her lips harder. “Because you are. And I won’t let you hurt my friend like you hurt me” she stated firmly.
The smirk on Jace’s lips slowly disappeared, replaced with a stern. He stared for a moment before leaning in and grabbed her lips in a forced sizzling, breathtaking kiss.
Katrina tried to resist, astounded and flustered. But his grip was firm and quite strong that she couldn’t push off.
The whole of her body reddened up at the forced, hard kiss and she slowly stop herself from fighting but became aware of his lips sucking at hers instead.
Every sense of hers seemed to be set on fire as it heightened to his taste and she find herself breathless in no time.
When Jace finally released her, they were both panting hard against each other. She open her eyes, staring dumbly at him for a moment.
“Does that hurt?” he let out, his expression hardened in anger.
Katrina ’s brows squinted a little, not sure if he was talking about the kiss or something else. She parted her lips to answer but he cut her off before she could.
“Does it taste familiar?” he asked, his voice softened a bit this time, panting quietly.
Katrina ’s eyes caught his, she was clueless about what he was asking and her eyes showed it.
“I don’t know...” she mumbled.
Jace’s expression tightened seeing that she still didn’t remember him. He must have left no impression on her that night for her not to have any recollection.
He let go of her, moving a good distance away and clenched. “Fine. You can leave” he told her.
Katrina who was still fazed about the kiss, quickly blinked out of it, and arched a brow. “What?”
He had just dragged her to her room and forcefully kissed her, only to ask her to leave after? What a jerk!
She turned to him with a fiery look, a strong desire to punch him evade her mind.
“Is this why you dragged me in? Just to kiss me and ask questions?” she asked, clearly astonished.
Jace rested his hands in his pockets “Why? You want more? Not satisfied?” he asked.
Katrina scoffed and immediately turned to the door, she pulled it open and saw Yasmin about to knock on it.
She grabbed her hand and lead her away, from him and out of the house.
…
At the orientation party, Katrina tried not to be awkward. She was alone since Yasmin had found her way to her department instead.
The air was cold and the little clothes she had on made her body freezes at the harsh blow. She wrapped her hands around her body as she sat down and watch other dancing and drinking.
Someone suddenly dropped a glass in front of her and poured a drink. Katrina looked up to see a rather cute guy in white shirt.
“Not having fun?” he asked, pushing his glass up a bit.
“I’m not good at partying” she replied, shifting a little uncomfortably as he settled down beside her.
“Don’t you remember me?” he asked.
Katrina turned to him, squinting a bit as she tried to see if she does. “Doctor Collin?” she asked surprised.
Collin smiled. “Just call me by my name. I aren’t no doctor yet, just an intern” he said.
“Collin” she repeated, nodding with a quiet smile.
He smiled again and offered her the drink while pouring himself some.
“What are you doing here?” Katrina asked, curious.
“My sister insisted I come with her, but I just realized upon getting here that she wanted to set me up with her friends” he said, and they both share a nod.
“Sorry. But I can’t blame her. You’re handsome” Katrina replied.
“You think I’m handsome?” Collin asked, his lips spread in a grin.
