RISPAN
As I closed the door, I felt like the bottom had dropped out of my stomach. These last few weeks on the road with Genevané had been very different for me somehow. Now that she’d left, I knew I would miss her. I’d never felt such loss before. That brought me up short. Did I love her? I didn’t know. Maybe so. But it didn’t matter. Like she said, we have different paths. We are not to be mates. I sat heavily back in my chair.
