When Liamarrived at the girls's bathroom, he spotted a black haired girl exiting. Shewasn't as small as Quinn, but her figure was petite if compared to him. Shewasn't exactly the kind of girl he would hook up with, not that she was ugly, she was cute to say the least, but her yellow cardigan along with a stripedshirt and jeans just screamed "prude" to him. The girl was coveredfrom head to toe, and it wasn't so cold outside. Either way, he flashed hiskiller smile, walking slowly towards her, hands in pocket like a innocentlittle boy looking for someone. "Hey."He said to the girl. Not too friendly, not too distant. She looked up to facehim, her almond hazel eyes showed neither sympathy nor coldness towards him, still she kept her distance. "Hi."Her answer was short and direct. "Haveyou seen a girl with glasses in the bathroom?" "I'vehave seen a lot of girls with glasses at the bathroom." The girl repliedquickly, as if shooting a bullet on Liam's chest. It hurt a lot, that's why hehated sarcastic people. "Sofunny." He retorted back, making the girl give a disgusted half smile.Yeah, definetely she wasn't for him. Not if he wanted some fling of a two dayspan. "I'm talking about a small girl, who wears glasses and is alwaysdressed in sweaters. She has a different hair too, all frizzy and messy orwhatever. Have you seen her?" For amoment the girl slightly widened her eyes. Then, from surprise, her expressionchanged to suspicion. Raising an eyebrow, she crossed her arms and asked him: "Whatif I did? What do you want with her?" Liam sighed in annoyance. "Ijust want to know if she's still in the bathroom or not." He replied. Thegirl thought for a moment, maybe still in doubt. Even though she wanted to keepit a secret, her intentions were as clear as water. Was she protecting Quinnsomehow? "No,she's not." Finally the answer came. "Doyou perhaps know were she went?" "Idon't. I saw her going to that direction though." The girl pointed to theopposite side. Liam nodded and was ready to go after Quinn when another remarkcame from the dark haired girl. "Noneed to thank me, it was a pleasure to help you." She reminded him of thepolite "thank you" she should've received for the information. Liamwould thank her if sarcasm wasn't the only language she used. So he just keptgoing, he would forget the girl's existence anyway. Walking theway Quinn went, Liam found himself lost. There were several options to whereshe could have gone to. Searching aimlessly, he saw a group of boys talking bythe locker of one of them. He did recognize some, but never knew their names. They weren't so attractive, but tidy enough to go to parties where Liam almostalways spotted one or two. He even remembered having a brief talk with one ofthem, the red haired one. "Heyguys." He greeted. All four turned to look at him in surprise, one of themeven gasped. Liam smirked, he liked the effect he had on people. The boys allgave awkward responses to his greeting, only one or two being able to look athim properly. "You'reJim, right?" He pointed at the red hair, who furrowed his eyebrows inconfusion. "Myname is Nolan." He answered. That made Liam wide his eyes in surprise, alittle heat going to his cheeks. "Oh,sure. I'm sorry, I know a guy called Jim and he's...like you. With red hair, you know." He lied, trying to hide the embarassement on his voice. "Myhair is ginger." The boy replied dryly. His friends seemed ratheruncomfortable with the situation, all trying to look away. "Yeah...so...haveyou seen any girl with glasses coming this way. You know, one who has a wildhair." Liam tried to explain "Iguess I saw a girl like that running this way." Another boy, one who had abig nose and shaggy black hair spoke. He was a little taller than red/gingerhair and seemed nicer too. Liam frowned after hearing that Quinn was running.Maybe Caitlin really did something terrible. "Whereshe went to?" Liam asked. "Tothe soccer field." Big nose replied, pointing. Liam nodded and went to thefield, not before thanking the boys for the help. --- Stillsitting on the dirty grass, Quinn almost slept under that tree. It would begood if she was able to just fall asleep there, but the danger of being foundout spoke louder. That place was like her second sanctuary, the place where shewas at peace in a world full of chaos. The trees were her friends, the windwhispered sweet nothings to her, the dirt under her feet was calming, almost apart of her body. There, she knew no one would bother her. But thatdidn't last long, she could hear a loud voice, calling her name. She recognizedthat voice, it was the same voice that she would have to hear from thereownards. Sighing, she slowly sat straight, looking at a worried Liam searchingfor her, screaming her name. She wondered if that was just an act, or if he wasgenuinely concerned for her. It probably was the former option. No one did goodthings for her, and if they did, it ended fastly. Good thingsweren't supposed to last. Not for her. "Quinn!Quinn!!" The screams became louder, he was closer. Quinn wondered if sheshould just show herself or hide like she usually did. Closing her eyes, shedecided to keep hiding. The plandidn't last long though. Liam seemed determinated to find her. For a moment, she almost thought it was true and what he was doing was kind of sweet.Suddenly, a shadow blocked the sun. Opening her eyes, Quinn faced the one andonly Liam Woods, looking at her. "Soyou're here." If he wasn't faking it, Quinn would find he more thanattractive. The sun kissed his skin like it was a casual lover, his green, vivid eyes brightened even more because of the intense light. She could geteasily lost in them. Quinnnothing said, just stared at his face, almost dazed. Liam tilted his head inconfusion, kneeling to her level until their eyes met. They were in a positionnever seen before. If the eyes are windows of the soul, then they were eye toeye, soul to soul. Two lying souls trying to find something worth in eachother. "Whyare you here?" He asked softly. "Ilike here." Quinn admited, her eyes drifting away from his. "Areyou telling me the truth?" Quinn faced Liam once again, not planing todrift off anymore. She knew he knew something. He must have seen Caitlin walkout of the table, going after her. He knew what she was going to do, yet didn'tstop her from doing so. It enraged Quinn's heart even more. "Whydo you care?" She had to test him. How much of a good liar could he be,how much he really wanted to win that bet. If his words were false, if hisactions were fake, then she would want to know how far he would lie. "Peoplesaid they saw you running around." He replied. Quinn chuckled humorlessly. He wouldn't go so far to say the words she wanted to hear. "Ha."She muttered. "What?"He frowned. That was the only genuine feeling he showed to her. "Thoughtyou would say something else." She said. Liam was more stupid than shethought. "I thought you would say you care about me." Liam openedhis mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Speechless, he lowered hisgaze, dwelling in something Quinn deemed as senseless. He surely would try togo after her with some of his "Casanova" tricks. She wanted to seehim try. "Well...Icare about you." He gave her a sheepish smile that was as fake as his truefeelings towards her. "Really?"If Liam decided to play stupid(or at least pretend to be stupid), Quinn wouldplay the same game. "Whynot?!" Liam winked at her, throwing his bright smile, which made Quinnwant to puke. But for the sake of her plan, she just stretched her hand towardshim. Liam looked at it, not sure what to do or say. He then decided to shakehands with her. "You'redoing it wrong. I didn't offered my hand for you to shake." Quinnlaughed. "Thenwhy did you give me your hand.?" Liam frowned. "Foryou to help me get up, duh." She laughed once again. Liam playfullysmirked and helped the girl to stand. The bothmade physical contact, there was no going back. The game had begun, and neitherof the liars wanted to give in. It was a matter of pride, and when you have twoprideful people against other, nothing good will ever last. Good things aren'tsupposed to last. Not for Quinn Taylor. She held her enemies hand as a friendlyphysical contact, but inside, she knew those hands were never to touch eachother in a pure way.
