That night I kept thinking about Sam grabbing Ara’s arm. What would have happened if I didn’t get there in time. Would she have been ok? What was Sam doing in town? Even thinking about it made my blood boil.
I’m going to have to figure out a way to stay closer to her until I can tell her what I am. With her being a human it makes it a little more complicated. Eventually I nodded off to sleep.

I found myself in the middle of some thick mist. I couldn’t see anything four feet in front of me, and there was a silence. Not even the sound of wind.
I waited for a couple of minutes to see if anything was going to happen. Sniffed the air and nothing. It was almost like emptiness.
“Kade,” I heard a faint voice calling me.
“Who’s there?” I asked as I took a defensive stance. I’m not sure who was calling me, whether they were friend or foe.
“We’ve been waiting for you, it is almost time,” said the mysterious voice.
“Almost time for what?” I kept looking around for where the voice was coming from, but it seemed like it was coming from everywhere. Like it was the mist itself talking to me.
“We will talk again, but right now she needs you.”
I saw a shadow in the form of a woman in the mist, somehow even though I could see the shadow it still seemed so far away.
“Who needs me?” I questioned the shadow. Even though I asked, I already knew the answer to the question. It was Ara. Ara needed my help.
“Where is she?” I asked. “Why does she need my help?”
I had barely asked when the mist started to clear and I could sense her. I could sense her fear. I could also sense another shifter. He was on the hunt, and she was the prey.
I started running in the direction of her scent. I could see her running, She was running and she suddenly fell. I could see behind her a black wolf with red eyes. Red eyes were the sign of a killer. One who will kill innocent lives and their own kind. Usually you’d only see this in rogue wolves, but this wolf was not one. He still had his reasoning and sanity. I had never met a wolf like this.
I started running in her direction and jumped over her. I positioned myself in a fighting stance in front of her. There was no way I was going to let this monster touch her. She was mine to protect.
I growled at him letting him feel my power. He flinched for a split second but then returned my growl. As we stood there in a face off one of us were either going to back off or charge, and there was no way I was going to back off. So the challenge was accepted. I crouched for a split second before lounging at him.
I could hear Ara screaming behind me, but I couldn’t let her distract me. I had to deal with this monster. I knocked him to the side and tried to force him to submit but her resisted. It seemed this wolf also had alpha blood in him.
He linked me, “Move out of the way, I don’t care about you, but the girl is mine.”
I growled at him and took a bite out of his shoulder. “She is mine!” I growled back.
He launched me off his back and sent me flying into a large rock. Just as I was about ready to jump on him again it all vanished and I was in my room. I could still feel the pain in my side from having hit the rock. My first instinct was to look around me for Ara, but she wasn’t here.
There was no way that was just a dream, it seemed too real. I could feel everything. I could feel Ara’s fear.
I gave up, I knew I wasn’t going to be getting anymore sleep tonight. So I decided to go check on her. Make sure she was alright.

I could hear the two wolves fighting, but I couldn’t bring myself to look. I tried to get back up, but every time that I put weight on my foot I collapsed back to the ground.
For I moment the wolves stopped fighting.. Well at least I didn’t hear anymore growling. I looked up and they were staring at each other. I know it might sound crazy, but it looked like they were communicating.
Maybe they would just go away and forget about me. The red eyed wolf was about ready to attack me again when the blue eyed wolf jumped on his back and bit him. I saw the blue eyed wolf get thrown into a rock, he let out a yelp. I could feel the pain in my back as he hit that rock.
The red eyed wolf turned around to face me. I could feel my vision start to blur. I held onto my necklace, thinking about my mom, wishing that I could be back home in my room. I felt a tingling in my hand.. and then I felt my body collapse.

I woke up in my room, in my own bed. I was covered in sweat. I could still feel the pain in my back. I looked around my room, making sure that I was safe and there was nothing around.
I slowing got out of bed, my ankle still throbbing. If it was all a dream, how is my ankle swollen?
I slowly made my way to the bathroom, and splashed some cold water on my face. Looking at myself in the mirror, I told myself that this was just a dream. I turned and looked at my back only to see a large bruise covering the right side of my back and shoulder.
I took a warm bath to help with the pain. When I got out I went to my balcony and sat on a chair. I brought a warm blanket with me. I sat there for a few minutes and just stared at the moon.
I could hear an owl in the distance letting me know that I wasn’t alone tonight.
I felt something in the woods, something familiar, calling to me. As I lowered my eyes, I could see a pair of bright blue eyes watching me. We stayed eyes locked with each other for what seemed like only a moment, and then they were gone.
I blinked my eyes a few times, hoping to see those eyes again. That I wasn’t just imaging it. But they were gone.

I could feel her in my soul. I don’t even know how I got to her place so fast, but when I got to the edge of the woods I saw her sitting on her balcony wrapped in a blanket, staring up at the moon.
I breathed a sigh of relief to see for myself that she was safe. That there was no danger around her.
While I was watching her, her gaze shifted and we were looking at each other. I could feel the pull and wondered if she felt the same. She didn’t seem afraid of me at all. But now wasn’t the time to approach her. Not after what happened, definitely not a good time to tell here I’m a wolf. I also was going to have to figure out if what just happened was real, a dream or something in the middle.
I looked at her one last time before leaving. I hoped that I could get this all sorted soon.
