New Roomie

Jen -- When Mags asked if I would mind moving in with Ara, I jumped at the chance. Ara was nice and she seemed like she could use some perking up. Plus it was so nice to have someone around my own age to talk with.... even if I was the one doing most of the talking. Mags didn't say so much why she wanted me moving in with Ara, except that she thought it would be a good idea if she wasn't so alone out there. After grabbing a few boxes with all my clothes and anything super important for right now, I loaded my jeep and headed off to my new roomie. -- Ara -- I saw Jen pull up in front of the house and I went out to meet her. It was a relief to see she didn't have a million boxes to bring in. She handed me one box and took the other. We dropped the boxes off in her room then went to the kitchen. "How perfect that this is a two bedroom house! It is like it was meant to be!" Jen said excitedly. "I'm really happy that you decided to come stay here," I replied while handing her some water. "So, what do you usually do here all by yourself?" she asked. "Mmmm, I like taking walks in the forest, well along the forest," it was my favorite thing to do. "We're going to have to add a little more fun to your list," she said shaking her head. "Like what?" There wasn't all that much to do in this town. There weren't a lot of people our age, and the majority of people are passing through. "Well today let's go grab some pizza and have a girl's night in,we have some bonding to do so we can officially be BFFs." she laughed and grabbed my arm dragging me to her jeep. -- Kade -- I linked John to find out where he was. "Coming, I was just grabbing some lunch," he linked back. A couple minutes late he was walking through my office door with two bags. He sat across from me and tossed me a bag. "So what's up Kade?" he grabbed the burger out of his bag and started eating. "After all it's not every day you ask me on a date." "No wonder you're still single if that's your idea of a date." I threw my wrapper at him. "Well in that case, we're over," he said while pretending to be hurt. "So what's with this Jen girl," I asked him. He actually stopped eating for a second and looked at me seriously. "Why would you ask me about her?" he asked. His ears turning a bit red. "She moved in with Ara today." I stated simply. "Who?" he asked looked distracted. "The girl that I had you follow," I growled. John was silent for a second and then he smiled. Whatever was going on in his mind was probably not going to be something I wanted to hear. "You know, I think you're right about that girl, someone should really be keeping an eye out for what's going on in that house. I know it will be boring, but I am willing to do this for you," John said, acting like he was doing me a favor. Although I will want someone to keep an eye out for her when I can't, I wasn't too sure that I could trust John to pay attention long enough. Not when he was really just interested in seeing Jen. -- Ara -- When we got to the pizza shop, Jen went to quickly place the order and I sat down in a booth. I've never been to this place before. It was much busier than the diner usually was. After placing our order Jen came and sat down by me. "I placed the order to go, they said it shouldn't take longer than twenty minutes," Jen said. "Sounds good," I replied. We chatted for while waiting for our pizza to be ready. The more I was around Jen, the more I liked her. She was one of those genuine happy people, always had a smile on her face. As she was telling me about how this is the most popular place in town to meet people who weren't just passing through, Jen's smile faded. She was looking past me at towards the window. As I was about to turn around to see what she was looking at, she grabbed my hand. She made eye contact with me and shook her head. "Try not to draw attention to yourself," she whispered. The bell on the door alerting that a new customer had walked in jingled. Five tall men walked in. The each were muscular and good looking, but there was something about them that was dangerous. "If they come over here, just keep your head down and don't say anything," she whispered to me. They seemed to have known we were there. As they walked in they looked straight at our table. I looked at Jen and she just shook her head at me. "Well if it isn't our favorite blonde," said one of the men looking our direction. He said something to the other four and then walked to our table. "Oh hey Sam, how have you been?" Jen said with a smile plastered on her face. "Better now that I've seen you, I was beginning to think that you were avoiding me," he said while looking at me. "Of course not, just been busy," said Jen. "Who's your friend? I haven't seen her around before." Same said. "She's my cousin," replied Jen. I'm not sure why she lied, but he seemed to believe her. I could feel his eyes shift back to Jen. "Since we're all here, we might as well eat together, what do you say Jen?" he said while signaling his friends to come over. -- Jen -- When I saw Sam and his friends come in, I knew there was no way they wouldn't spot us. When Sam wad around there was always trouble that followed. And Mags gave me strict instructions to keep Ara away from trouble. "You know what, it is such a shame, we would have loved to have lunch with you guys, but we are slammed and were taking our pizza to go," she pulled out her phone looking like she was checking something. "Oh darn cousin, it looked like we're going to be late if we don't head out soon!" Jen started to get up and pulled on my arm to follow her. "Looks like our pizza is done!" -- Ara -- I tried to keep my head low and not make eye contact with Sam or the others. I'm not sure who exactly they were, but they had a dangerous energy about them. As we were getting out of the booth Same reached out and grabbed my arm. I froze and looked at him. "Well little girl, aren't you going to tell me what your name is?" Sam said while locking his eyes on mine. I don't know why but I felt fear surge through my body as he held onto my arm. -- Kade -- I decided to head back to town and bring John and Max with me. I couldn't take it anymore, I wanted to officially meet. I mind linked John and Max, "He I'm headed to town, can you meet me out front in five minutes?" "Be there in two," linked John "Be right there," Max linked. We all jumped in my truck and headed to town. "What do we need in town?" asked Max. I was just about to answer him when I saw five members of a neighboring pack. I saw Sam and his four followers walk into the pizza shop. "What is Sam doing here?" John asked. "I guess we're going to find out," I replied. I parked the truck and the three of us headed to the front door. When we walked in I glanced around for Sam and saw him sitting at a table with a couple of girls. When they started getting up I saw him grab one of the girl's arm. When I looked at the girl's face I was shocked to see those green eyes. I could feel rage boiling up within me. How dare he put his hands on my mate. Sam was asking for death!
