When Kade left, Jen came back to the living room to check on me. She sat down on the chair next to me this time.
“So, he found you in the wood,” she said with a disapproving face. “It’s dangerous enough to walk in the woods alone, even more so when you’re injured.”
“I had thought my ankle was feeling better, I had only planned to go a short distance, I didn’t realize how far I had walked until my ankle started hurting. I had stayed on the path out of the woods,” I said to her, hoping she wouldn’t give me too hard of a time.
She shook her head at me again, “Well at least you stayed out of the woods. Let’s wait to go for a walk again until you are all the way healed.” She said looking at me in the eyes.
“Ok,” I promised.
