A SACRIFICE FOR LOVE CHAPTER FOUR : THE REASON

Meagan blinked as Maya shake her shoulder. She didn't know what was happening to her since that day she started dreaming those horrible things.

' Are you okay Meagan? Maya asked looking at her with worried eyes. Is something which is bothering you or you want..... She was cut off by Kate who was just standing at the door step chewing like a stupid goat.

' Oh! Stop that s**t Maya,' She's fine can't you see,' isn't it Meagan?' she asked putting her back at the wall.

Meagan just nodded as she gets to class leaving both Maya and Kate out. She didn't know whether she should talk to her mom about this things that was happening to her or just leave it. And what Mealan said about was another thing which was bothering her so much. She recalls every details but one thing she wanted to be sure of was to consult Carlos and ask more about what had happened to her sister before her death.

As the time passed, she found herself at Carlos apartments. She hesitated for a short time then knocked. Seconds passed and Carlos came out wearing a blue pants with a black shirt. He was surprise at first but he just let her in closing the gate behind them.

' You live by yourself? She asked looking around.

' Nope, l have my little brother Ben but he's out. My mom and dad are abroad for business,' he replied giving her a glass of water. He took his position too sitting across Meagan already knowing what had brought her here.

' Now, would say what brought you here? he broke the silence while his elbows kneels both on his knee.

Meagan took another sip of water from her glass then cleared her throat.

' Ah, l know you already know what brought me here. Anyway, all l wanted to know was what happened to my sister. This thing has been bothering me so much for the past few days and l had no choice than to come. I know it maybe sounding a bit confusing but have no other choice cause it seems my sister is hunting me for blaming you for her death,' she said taking another sip from her glass as Carlos looks at her attentively almost counting her words.

' huh! That's hard you know,' l thought telling you this would be easy now even finding the words to begin with is impossible. But l can try it. The story might not end now cause it's quite long. Where I'll stop I'll begin another time. He said opening his mouth to start narrating.

FLASHBACK.....

' Carlos, please stop tickling me!' aha stop please, Mealan cried trying to run away when Carlos got her again.

' Nope, l won't let you unless you tell me you love me. Have been telling you almost a million times but even a small peck you've never given me,' Carlos replied carrying her to the coach.

Mealan just stared at him for a while as he put her down.

' You know you are a real jerk, you stupid and crazy young man, how do you want me to tell you that I like you when you're always occupied by many things. How do you want me to give you a peck when even meeting you it's almost impossible. I thank God that it's only today we've meet again. ' she said pouting like a baby.

Carlos didn't have other word to explain better nor defend himself since he knew that she's right. He could only swallow the remaining words even though passing through his throat could be hard.

'Fine am sorry, you know how the company works, my dad doesn't want me to leave at any moment except today l lied that l have an important meeting to go to, so once again am sorry sweet heart,' he apologies cupping her chicks in his wide palms.

' You're sorry really? Huh, and the important meeting is me isn't it? She asked pointing at herself. Do you think l always feel good not seeing you almost for months. What if l have a very important issue to share with you like now and you're not around do you think anyone could believe me for what l would say especially my twin Meagan? You know how sometimes she could be if she hears something awful has happened to me or someone whose close to her,' Mealan spoke as tears threatening to fall.

Carlos once again swallowed that huge burden which made himself almost to get chocked. He couldn't help it but feel the pain in her heart. His words got lost when he heard that she has something important she wanted to talk about. Even though he was sorry for his mistake he couldn't hold his eagerness to know what is it that has been bothering her.

' Sorry dear, he said planting a soft kiss on her lips just to cool her anger . He didn't know when that slight kiss came to be more sweater and deeper than he could thought. It seems that both of them were hungry for each other. They kissed for a long time without taking even a short breath. Mealan broke the kiss in between as she gulp in more air. She looked at Carlos sadness filling her small face.

She touched Carlos chick in her hands looking at him as she take back threatening tears.

' I... I... I mean....' she tried to say something but no words could form from her mouth. She couldn't help it but the pain of leaving Carlos alone was making her to cry again.

' Are you okay Mealan? If you can't say it then just don't. There is always another day.' he said wiping her already fallen tears.

'No, l can't wait carl', Have few days to live. Am needed for a Sacrifice,' she said as more tears rolls down to her chick falling to her pink dress while Carlos remains shocked with her unbelievable words.

' Have been thinking that this was just a lie cause l knew that it's only in the books where authors writes about someone being Sacrifice for a special rituals but now am a millions sure it's real. This thing is happening even to the real world. I couldn't help it cause l didn't want to leave you in regrets or even ending up by you blaming yourself or my family blaming you for my death. I know Meagan won't believe you even how possible you try explaining this to her, but l know I'll always find a way to tell her the truth,' she said as her hands trembles looking at him.

' f**k! How did this thing even came into your mind and made you believe that you're chosen for a special Sacrifice? You think this stupid things will make me believe you? There's no way you're leaving me and nothing's gonna take you away from me. So just stop this bullshit and tell me that this some kind of a joke huh?' Carlos said standing as he throws his hands on his hair looking at her as if he's waiting for her to tell him that it's just a trick.

' I know it's hard for you to believe me and am not even asking you to believe neither carl, all l want from you is your listening. Just listen what I'll be telling you and what am going to show you at this moment,' she said standing too.

Carlos didn't move nor blink for few minutes as he watch her opening the window as rays of the sun lit up the whole room making it more visible.

' You see this rays?' they are the reason why am still here with you. They are my angel guardian till the time reaches. They are my ROYGBIV. I have only now four colours left. ROY colours were sent inside someone's body and they'll act like a shield which will be protecting my twin sister. I chose GBIV colours so that l can save Meagan from something special.

Carlos couldn't help but to pay all the attention that she wanted. When she finished her explanation, he asked a question which made her to halt a bit looking at him surprisingly.

' You said that you have four colours remaining for you to die, and whose the reason behind you sacrificing yourself. Why can't you just leave that person your sacrificing your life for to be sacrificed instead. Or is it your destiny?

She couldn't help but feel the pain in his words. She has never thought that one day she will be leaving forever. Especially when her heart is not ready to go.

' l know this is painful Carl, but l guess too it's my destiny. This thing was ment to happen at this age. When am young to ripen. Myself am also regretting too but what else can l do. I really don't know if mom knows about this but according to my suspicion, there's a big secret she might be hiding from us. About Meagan l can't lie cause l know she doesn't have any clue about this thing nor even a single,' she said shaking her head moving away from the window.

' You've not answered my question?' why are you doing this. Whose the reason behind this and what's the price behind all your doings. Do you think this gonna make me happy or you think am feeling good about this?' he said almost shouting which made her to be scared a little.

'No one, am not doing this to benefit anything nor help anyone. Am just... am just doing this.... Ahh...

'Ahh! What Mealan, just spill the burning issue and let me know. Do you want me to go mad right now about all this lies you've made, huh,' he cut her off as while his eyes pops out.

' Fine, fine if you want to know the reason behind it all. And am not asking you to believe neither. It's Meagan's safety that am trying to protect. She's the main reason why am doing this. I saw on my dreams that she will be captured when the time will be ready so that the prophesy could be fulfilled. She's the one am doing all this to and have no regrets about it,' she said the last words as if regretting it as she gulp in more air. She took her eyes off him when Carlos tears rolled down silently hitting the flow.

' Not regretting? he asked while his mouth widens. What's this all about the prophecies huh? he added reaching out to touch her but she moved back quickly.

' That's a long story, there's no need for you to know more about that. That's Meagan's life story in another page, she replied taking her sit avoiding his gaze.

' Ok fine, l won't intrude into that matter. But don't you love me? Is that the reason why you'll always walk away when l tried to catch up with you or talk to you? Is that why showing your affection to me was impossible because you knew you'll always leave me at the end, Carlos cried pain deepens in his heart not wanting to hear her feedback as a yes. He knelt down taking her hands into his kissing them as tears falls.

She couldn't help but cry too not knowing what else she should say or answer but she was too hurting leaving the man she loves so much behind. She dragged him to herself hugging him so tight not even wanting him to add more hurting words. She knew that this was a real challenging situation she had ever get herself into but she was certain that all this gonna end.

' l love you more than anything in this world, if l leave today just know that tomorrow I'll be with you. I can't help loosing you too cause my spirit will never rest.' she finished as he kiss her hardly as the room echoes with their moans.
