CHAPTER 3
Alex went through and cleared the paperwork from his desk. He handled the calls listed on his call back list. He was clearing his desk so he could take the next day off. Mariam had her first doctor’s appointment, and he was determined to be with her. He wanted to be with her all through her pregnancy. It was his baby, too, and he was excited and looking forward to becoming a dad.
Alex called Brenda and asked her to stand in for him the next day. Brenda was almost as excited about the baby as they were. She made him promise to tell her all the details, when they returned from the appointment.
When Alex was through clearing his desk, he called the florist and ordered a large bouquet of mixed spring flowers to be delivered to Mariam. He had them enclose a card with a note. Alex t
