CHAPTER 4
While Alex and Mariam were enjoying their good news, Taylor, Becky and Dottie Sue returned home from work to find Taylor and Becky’s dads waiting for them in their living room.
After greeting the girls, Mr. Aris turned to speak to Dottie Sue.
“Your dad wanted to come with us, but he didn’t want to leave your mom alone,” said Klark Aris.
Dottie Sue nodded. “I understand. Mom gets depressed if she can’t get in touch with my dad,” agreed Dottie Sue.
Klark turned to face Taylor. She was listening to Becky talk to her dad. Klark cleared his throat to get their attention.
“Mr. Avorn called us about letting you girls help him,” said Klark. “We told him it would be okay, but we need to explain a few things to you before you decide to go ahead with this project.”
