Chapter 10

Armarria walked into her room and was surprised to see Savion in the same chair he was sitting in when she woke up this morning. He stood up as soon as she closed the door, pressing his body against hers, lifting her up like he loved doing, wrapping her legs around his waist. He kissed her senseless. The fear of losing each other was so strong within them. She could feel it. Her conversation with Shadow must’ve brought up these feelings. “Savion.” She breathed his name because he was taking her breath away. He kissed her neck instead as she tried to speak. She moaned as his hands began to tweak her n*****s. “I’m not leaving Savion.” He paused, his head buried in her neck. “My brother can convince a snail to walk into salt. I know his words can pierce the hardest bricks. I am not used to needing anyone else. I…” Savion couldn’t get the words out. Armarria just rubbed his head, lovingly. “I love you too.” She replied. Before their journey, Savion made passionate love to her. They both tried their best to remain as quiet as possible but enhanced or not it was impossible to keep the moans down. An hour had passed by before they were satisfied. Armarria packed something for a long trip. “While in town I want you to stay close to me. I have a feeling we will run into some more enhanced looking for the Elements like we are.” Armarria nodded. “I will be ready. I think I’m strong enough to protect you now.” Savion laughed. “Yes, you are. Let us go tell Shadow we are leaving.” He grabbed her hand and walked out the door. They walked to the basement where Shadow was pounding away at a punching bag. His shirt was off with sweat falling all over his face. Armarria turned away trying not to look at him. “We are leaving now,” Savion said. Shadow wiped the sweat from his forehead. “Whew thank god. Leave now. I wished for once I did not have my super hearing.” Armarria began to blush. Savion laughed. “Sorry. Maybe we might have got carried away.” Shadow shot him an evil look. “Leave now Savion.” Savion threw his hands up walking away with Armarria following. The kids waved bye to them as they pulled off in Savion’s car. Armarria hid her face in her hands. “I can’t believe your brother heard us. I tried to be quiet.” Savion laughed again. “He will live. It will be alright.” She bit her bottom lip wanting to tell him what the conversation was about between them. “How long had your mother stayed near the edge of the city?” he asked making casual conversation. “For as long as I could remember. My mother loved the house we used to live in. It was home for a while.” She replied sadly. “What happened to make your mother leave you? Do you know why?” She sighed. “Something happened. One of the women that my mother knew from the lab was killed. She heard about it and panicked.” Savion thought for a moment. “She knew they were coming for you guys and took precaution. It was smart. Not right, but she only wanted to protect you.” Armarria grew quiet. Savion rubbed her thigh to comfort her. “Like me. I have been thinking a lot about my life over the years and I never saw clearly until now. I have people I would die protecting and I am happy about that. I did not get to save my parents. Handling the pain was different between Shadow and I. He grew quiet and reclusive while I grew angry and protective. Hence the names Shadow and Savion.” Armarria placed her hand on top of his. “What were your names before then?” Savion shrugged. “I honestly do not remember a name beyond Savion. It is who I am now.” Armarria sighed. “What do you plan on doing once this is all over?” Savion glanced at her. “I never thought about it. Take trips maybe. I could not imagine a life without having to look behind my shoulders. The kids would be free to go to schools and learn, have lives. We can have Christmas and gifts and a tree.” He started to smile at the thought. “Maybe have a baby.” Armarria glanced over at him. “Is that something you always wanted?”  She asked. “I never really thought about it until now, but that’s in a perfect world.” He replied with his eyes on the road. They arrived at Armarria’s mother’s house four hours later, talking and getting to know each other while preparing themselves for anything else to come. Savion cautiously pulled up in the driveway. The house was a cozy and quaint two bedroom. Armarria paused as she looked up at the house as memories ran through her head. “Armarria?” Savion turned to her. “Are you ok to go through with this?” She only stared at him, speechless. She wasn’t ready to deal with her memories of her mother and knowing she is gone, but she didn’t have a choice. She grabbed Savion’s hand for comfort as they walked up the stairs. “It’s locked. I got it.” Armarria confidently used her mind to turn the knob of the door unlocking it. Savion looked impressed as the door creaked open. She held Savion’s hand tightly as they stepped into the house. “Stay close to me.” He warned, feeling uneasy. Armarria opened the first door to her right. It opened to her old room. It was filled with kiddie things and drawings she made. It had been a while since she’d been there, but nothing had changed. Savion picked up a picture of Armarria and her mother. She looked just like her. He could tell she loved her mother deeply. He took the picture out of the frame releasing Armarria’s hand. “You look so much like her.” He complimented. Armarria smiled. “People told me I was her split image.” She touched a drawing she made. “Let’s go to her room. That’s where the pictures would be.” She grabbed Savion’s hand again leading him to the living room now. Furniture was covered in sheets with cobwebs everywhere. Strange since her room was cleaned and still looked the same. “She must have visited your room often,” Savion observed. Armarria walked through the kitchen to the second bedroom. She opened to see a man poof out of nowhere, pushing her backward. Savion caught her before she fell on the ground. He growled. “What the f**k was that?” The poofing sound happened again. Savion turned behind him to be kicked in the chest from the side. He fell over the kitchen counter hard. Armarria gasped. “Savion!” The attacker stopped teleporting to look at Armarria. “You don’t look like anything special.” He frowned, walking closer to her. “Stay away from her.” Savion stood tall and angry, ready to attack. His eyes were red with fury. The attacker disappeared again before Savion could land a hit. He reappeared beside him this time trying to catch him off guard with another kick. Savion threw his arm up to block the blow. The attacker’s ankle cracked once it touched Savion’s arm. He cursed disappearing again. Savion walked over to protect Armarria. “Where is he?” She asked, looking around. “Stay close to me.” Savion walked into the bedroom. The room was torn to shreds. “He must’ve been looking for the pictures.” Armarria ran to the closet and opened a secret floorboard. The pictures were tucked safely inside along with other things. “I got them.” She stood up reaching for Savion’s hand. The teleporter appeared with a bat this time swinging towards Savion. Savion fell back trying to avoid the attack. Before he could balance himself properly the teleporter shifted behind him and hit Savion in the back of his head. The bat broke leaving Savion unscathed to grab the attacker. “Who are you?” He bear hugged the attacker. He disappeared again causing Savion to groan in annoyance. He appeared again with a knife stabbing Savion in his stomach. “Savion!” She held her hand up throwing the attacker to the wall. He teleported before he hit it. Armarria ran over to Savion as blood began to pour from his stomach. “Watch out.” Savion pushed Armarria out of the way before the teleporter could snatch her up. He disappeared again grabbing Armarria this time and disappearing with her. “No!” Savion yelled, reaching for her, but she disappeared along with the teleporter. Savion straightens his posture. Even though his wound was healing it was slow and painful. He began to feel dizzy and sick. He spat up blood as he tried to take a step. “I used a G.E.M weapon on you.” The teleporter came back. “Where is Armarria?” His voice was low and demonic. “My sister is with our father where she should be.”  Savion growled low, holding his stomach. “Bring her back.” The teleporter laughed. “You think you can threaten me with your deep voice. My father tells me what to do, not you.” Savion reached to grab him but winced as the pain held him back. He cursed. “You really shouldn’t try to move.” He disappeared again. Armarria heaved and gagged falling to her knees. “Teleporting without experience can be rather straining on the body.” She knew that voice. Would’ve recognized it anywhere. “Stay away from me.” She managed to say, wiping her mouth. “Is that any way to treat your father?” He grabbed her chin jerking her head up to look at him. “My my, you’re your mother’s daughter aren’t you? Split image of Elizabeth.” Armarria jerked her chin away.  “You killed her!” She screamed, backing away from him. Ray Van stood appalled. “You think I told Raul to kill my only love? No. Your mother meant the world to me. She was the most powerful telepath I ever encountered. Foolish of her though to run off with those children. To hide all of you guys’ memories must’ve made her so vulnerable and tired. That would explain how she got captured so easily by Raul.” Armarria then looked around in a panic. “Oh No! Savion!” She screamed his name. For some reason, she couldn’t feel him anymore. “Aww yes, your brother Armon went back to him. He isn’t from Elizabeth as you may know, but he is still my son. Still your brother.” Then the teleporter showed back up, holding the knife to Armarria’s throat. “You are not so special like the Cloak talks about. This can’t be her, Father.” He backed away from her to stand beside Ray Van. “This is her. The only child by the woman who should’ve been your mother.” She started to cry. “Where is Savion?” Armon held up the bloody knife. “He would be dead now without proper care.” Armarria rose reaching for Armon. Her eyes piercing him still. He tried to teleport away but was frozen in Armarria’s gaze. “Take me to him right now.” She demanded walking closer to him. She reached him before he could teleport away to escape. She was teleported to the Cloak’s lair. She looked around again, the sickness becoming easier. “I brought her like you guys asked. My father wants her alive. I want her dead.” Four veiled heads turned to Armarria. The power inside the room was beyond anything she could comprehend. They were a force on their own without Ray Van. She cursed at the thought. Fear ran through her body. “Do not fear child. We know who you are.” Armon held the knife to Armarria’s neck. “It’s over now sister.” He said menacingly. She turned, quickly pushing Armon away with her mind and hands. He went flying backward. The members of the Cloak stood in unison even Ray Van appeared unmasked to join them. She placed a protective barrier around herself backing away from them as they stood. “She is the Key.” They chanted as she tried her best to push them away with her mind but they weren’t phased. Their hands reached for her through her barrier and grabbed her easily, throwing her down on a table. She fought and screamed. “Stop! What you are going to do with me!” One of the members placed their hand above her body as if scanning for something. “She isn’t ready.” It was surprisingly a female voice. “She needs to go back to save him if we want her at full power.” “We can’t keep allowing them to falter our plans.” Another Cloak member disagreed, male this time. “We wanted superhuman and we have them. The most powerful of them all. Only through trials and tribulations will they advance past our expectations.” The female Cloak member replied. “You are soft because of your own daughter.” She remained quiet. “What the hell are you talking about?” Armarria shouted while still struggling. “You are not ready.” The woman with her hand above her pushed down on her stomach. Armarria sunk into the table. It seemed she was pushed through another dimension back to her old house. She looked around the room in a panic searching for Savion. There were blood tracks following outside to the car. She called his name again, but still no answer. She then held her stomach feeling the intense pain of his. He was by the car, blood still pooling from his body. She panicked and helped him up into the back Seat.
