Chapter 13

The uneasiness within Savion resonated through Armarria, causing her to feel oddly safe. Savion genuinely loved her and worried about her safety above all else which she loved about him. He was her rock through everything as he was to everyone. His loving, caring, protective nature was strong, probably stronger than him. “I’m alright Savion. Shadow tell him.” She whispered as she walked outside of the electrical plant into an open field. The plant was long abandoned and opened up to a large field, the perfect place for their plan. If David was correct the electrical plant would limit Armon’s powers. They discussed over and over how they would sort Ray Van and Armon out. Armarria knew this would be the only way. “Father!” she screamed. “I see your side. I’m ready to join you now.” Savion held his breath as she screamed the words. “Calm down. She said she is fine.” Shadow relayed the message. “Do you think they will hear her?” Savion asked as he peeked around the corner of the building. “They will show. Are you ready when they do?” Savion peeked around the corner again. “I feel a surge of energy coming this way.” He said eyes squinting. “Looks like I do not have a choice.” He held the taser tightly in his hand ready to attack. A bright light shot through the sky as Ray Van and Armon appeared out of his teleportation portal. “My dear.” Armarria’s heart began to pound loudly. Shadow heard and looked over to Savion. “She is losing it.” Savion was about to step out to go get her, but Shadow placed his hand on his shoulder. “Wait.” He demanded. Armarria looked up at Ray Van and an angry Armon. “She’s lying father. This is a trap. I can feel two others close by.” Armon jumped ready to attack Armarria, but Ray Van held out his hand to stop him.   Ray Van looked at Armarria. “Is this true Armarria?” she took several steps back. “You know we can’t allow you and the rest of the Cloak to continue to experiment on people. What you are doing is wrong….You took kids…” “We saved those kids from a world they will never know existed. This world is changing beyond our control. The Cloak was created to help humans adapt and evolve. Do you not see how far all of you have come?” “What do you mean evolve? Are you trying to turn all humans into super beings?” Ray Van smirked. “Superbeings? Well yes, perhaps. Humans need to evolve from the miserable existence they have been living. They are not like you, me, your brother or the S Twins.” Shadow frowned. “S twins?” He repeated. Savion looked confused. “What’s happening?” “I believe he called us the S twins.” Savion’s eyes squinted fiercely. “He knows we are here.” Just then Shadow pushed Savion away from him as he jumped back. Armon appeared with the same knife he stabbed Savion with earlier. “I thought I killed you.” Armon’s head tilted, confused by Savion’s wellness. Savion tensed, anger rising. “You will be the one dying today.” He attacked Armon slicing at his neck with the taser, but Armon vanished and reappeared again behind Savion. Armon almost cut him with his poisoned blade before Shadow kicked him in the crack of his knee and punched him before his attack could connect with his brother. He disappeared and reappeared away from them, angry. Shadow and Savion stood side by side. “The famous S twins always have each other’s back, or so they say in the walls of the Cloak house. They talk about you twins a lot.” “Why the hell would we be a topic of their conversation?” Shadow asked viciously. Armon shrugged. “You two are quite legendary. The first-second gen G.E.Ms that succeeded. I read you guys file. I was almost jealous.” Armon crossed his arms. “Quite impressive you chose an electrical plant to limit my powers as well. I can’t teleport away from here.”   Savion stepped closer to him. “You should be terrified if we know your weakness and you know who we are. So go run to your father for support.” Armon laughed. “Yes, well I’m not because I know your type.” Savion’s eyes rose. “Oh really?” Armon nodded. “You two try to be so noble in the face of those you love, but really you guys are just bullies. Beat up on anyone you can who gets in your way, but when someone threatens something you care about you play the victim and act as if you don’t hurt people.” Shadow moved closer. “Oh, we do more than hurt people. Which is why you should be afraid.” Shadow disappeared right in front of Armon. Savion ran to him, attacking again. This time Armon fought back instead of teleporting away. He ducked then vanished once Savion was about to hit him in the face, then appeared in the same spot to uppercut him. Savion fell back slightly, but he grabbed Armon’s shirt to use the taser. Armon teleported away not realizing Savion was holding onto him. He found himself on the rooftop of the building. He kicked Savion away. Savion blocked, still holding onto Armon and then throwing him off the building. Armon disappeared and landed on his feet once he reappeared. He looked up with a grin thinking he had bested Savion. Suddenly a force kicked him out of nowhere and then grabbed him, throwing him to the ground. Shadow appeared then as he walked over to Armon. “Surprise.” Armon gritted his teeth. Savion jumped from the roof beside his twin. They both reached for Armon with their tasers turning on. The electrical charge exploded like a gun, more powerful than they both expected. The force sent them sliding back as they looked at each other. “Damn David.” Shadow looked at the taser amazed.  “He made them from scratch,” Savion replied. “Too bad he got away.” Armon teleported to dodge the attack. Savion rubbed his head to the back. Armon was a tough opponent when he could leave and appear whenever he wanted. “He got away.” Shadow sighed frustrated. Savion looked over to Armarria still talking to Ray Van. “The Cloak only wants to help the society and bring the earth to a new revolution.” “Humans evolve every day without your help. We don’t need you to force us.” Savion turned away to be surprised by Armon. He punched then tried to stab again. Savion blocked, more aware of his strategy now. Armon wasn’t a fighter. He could only use the art of surprise to get what he needed from his enemy. It was a cheap fighting technique, but efficient enough to give him and Shadow a run for their money. Shadow grabbed Armon’s arm as he was ready to stab Savion. As he grabbed him Armon teleported in the air throwing Shadow down to the floor with a painful thud. “Fuck.” Shadow cursed as the pain ran through his body. Savion ran to his brother. “He is playing with us,” Savion observed as he helped his twin up. Shadow held his chest. “You think so?” He replied, disappearing again. Savion sighed, wishing he could disappear right now. Then he felt the pain. Armarria’s pain. He turned back to see what was happening. Ray Van had slapped her with the force of his mind, sending Armarria flying a few feet away. “Armarria!” Savion yelled. He ran to her until Ray Van pushed him back with the same energy. Savion grunted as he flew in the opposite direction. “Savion, it’s nice you can join us.” He walked over to him while he was on the ground. Ray Van picked Savion up with a raise of his finger. Savion clenched his teeth in pain, body paralyzed. “You and your brother are truly extraordinary. We have been watching you twins for some time now. You’ve grown better than we ever thought. Your build and strength are unmatched so far.” Armarria swiped her arm, throwing Ray Van away from Savion. “Stay away from him!” She yelled, running to her lover. “I am fine, just watch him,” Savion told her. Ray Van was sliding back from Armarria’s push, but he was smirking nonetheless. “We wondered what would happen if you guys met. Love, I see happened. How wonderful.” Armarria looked up at Ray Van who raised his leg to kick her side, but Savion grabbed his foot before it hit her. His eyes turned red. He lifted his foot, throwing Ray Van. The force sent him flying in the air with a graceful flip. He landed on his feet. “Good. Now unleash your power.” He raised his hand, a huge blast of air threatened to push her and Savion away. Savion grabbed her and pulled her close to keep her from falling back. The force still pushed him back on his heels as he planted his feet. “Stop me Armarria.” Ray Van said. “Stop me.” Her head jerked up with her eyes white. Suddenly the force Ray Van was pushing out was now being pushed back by Armarria’s power. Savion released her as she walked closer toward Ray Van. As he released her he found his feet slowly lifting up off the ground. Armarria’s power was pouring out of her in waves. She pushed all her power towards Ray Van. The building began to crack as it was trying to lift with them. Savion looked over to see Shadow and Armon fighting and being lifted into the air as well. With all his strength he pushed towards his brother. Armon tried to teleport but couldn’t concentrate with the forces of his father and Armarria pushing everything upwards. Savion threw his arms to punch Armon, but an amazing force from Ray Van pinned everyone against the building. They struggled to move but was unable to. Savion looked over to Shadow to see him pinned with his arms stretched on the building with the taser in his hand. They read each other’s minds as they stretched towards each other. Savion, being the stronger of the two was able to move and grab the taser and Armon. With one final scream Savion pushed himself over to him with the taser close to Armon’s pinned body. He quickly tased him causing Armon to shake and convulse from the electric waves. The blast sent Savion flying back and forth as he was pinned on the ground now.  Armarria tilted her head as her powers took over her. Her feet began to lift off the ground to battle Ray Van’s power. Ray Van’s face shook as he tried to compete. “You are my child, stronger than I ever thought you could be. You will lead the next generations of G.E.M.s to the new age. We did it!” He screamed. Armarria continued to rise in the air, levitating and taking their surroundings with her. The building cracked and began to break as it also began to rise along with Armarria. Everything went still and quiet. “Go to hell.” Armarria held her hand up increasing her power until her nose began to bleed. Ray Van screamed as the force began to surround him. She sliced her arms, cutting the air, to mentally cut Ray Van and everything stopped. Ray Van smiled for a second then his body split in half with blood pooling from his open torso. Savion and Shadow, along with Armon, fell hard with the building starting to crumble right beside them. “Shadow!” Savion yelled, running to his brother to catch the big wall. He clenched his teeth with his veins popping out of his neck as he held up the wall on his back with his legs squatted firmly to prevent himself from falling. Shadow quickly moved. “Savion.” Armarria’s voice shook through him as the wall began to lift over him. Savion cracked his neck. “God, I am going to need a back rub.” Savion joked. Armarria laughed softly rubbing his back. She looked over to see Armon lying on the floor unmoving. Her heart suddenly felt sadness for the brother she never knew. “He is dead,” Savion said it out loud to her. “We cannot help him.” Shadow finished Savion’s sentence as they walked away to the car parked in another lot. “We did it.” She said to herself with a smile. “That is one down, four to go.” Shadow rained on her parade with the obvious news. “Now that Ray Van is gone, they could become more hostile. We need to be ready.” Savion sighed. “We will be ready.” He pulled Armarria close as they walked to the car. He stopped her for a moment and picked her up giving her the biggest kiss he could give. His stomach was in bunches from the fight and he didn’t know how they survived such a battle but he was thankful Armarria and his brother was ok. Shadow sighed annoyed as he walked to the car alone to give them some space. Armarria wrapped her arms around Savion’s neck to deepen the kiss. “I am so proud of you.” He smiled at her. “We accomplished more than I ever thought we could since you have been here.” “You kept me going steady.” “Will you guys come on here. We need to go home.” Shadow reached for the driver’s side door when the car began to explode. “Shadow!” Savion ran to his brother’s side. Everything stood still in a slow-motion state as the fire was halted. Savion turned back to Armarria as her hand was lifted stopping the flames. Shadow saw a note on the car and quickly grabbed it. “An eye for an eye from Las Vegas?” Savion read the letter out loud as Shadow’s nose began to flare, becoming visibly angry. “Who is that Shadow?” Savion asked. “I will explain later. Right now we have to hurry home.” He began running towards the street. Savion grabbed Armarria as the car exploded. “f**k Shadow explain!” Savion was becoming annoyed at his silence. “Are you in some kind of trouble?” Shadow turned to his twin. “Some punk I beat up in Vegas for info. No big deal.” Savion’s eyes squinted knowing there was something more going on than his brother was telling him, but he would drop it for now. They had barely made it out of this fight. He stared down at Armarria in his arms. His sanity was secured and it seemed it took a long time, but the future was looking brighter.
