48 Upgrade Peter’s Power

“Let’s create another plan and go back to the dream kingdom, our practice is about to end,” the girl said, striking another attack to the squid monster.   Peter finally realized it. “Wait, is this part of your training?” he asked.   One of them turned to him briefly. “Yeah,” he replied and prepared to attack the squid again.   “I never thought training to be a dreamlord was this exciting,” he said as he plotted a plan.   One of the guys glanced at him and continued with his part of the attack. “What, you didn’t train as a dreamlord? Then how did you become a dreamlord?”   He turned silent. There’s no way he would mention the Book Of Dimensions. He chuckled. “Long story short, a dream goblin gave it to me as a prize,” he said.   The guy just nodded and Peter was thankful he wasn’t asked questions that had answers leading to the origin of him finding the book. He found it unnecessary to mention, as he didn’t know what effect it would give him if the knowledge of him keeping the book spread around the dream world.   It was not that he knew everyone, and attracting the attention of a potential enemy was the last thing he wanted. He was contented with having powers in the dream world, as a dreamlord, where he could do everything as he pleased.   “Do you have any idea for a plan, Mr. Peter?” the girl passed by him as the three continued to surround the squid monster with attacks. The squid was exceptionally a little calm than the last time he encountered it. He wondered how it would react if he deactivated invisibility.   He hummed. “I have something, but I’m not sure.”   “Let’s do anything,” the other guy said.   “What powers do you have?” he asked.   “We’re still at level three, so we’re only allowed to use the fire and water elements,” the girl said. “We can use both, though,” she added.   Peter nodded. “How about you strike the same thing at the same time? I’ll create something and I want you to use fire at the same time. You can use it however you want, but it will be preferable if you all make fireballs.”   The girl nodded with a smile. “Sure. Fireballs it is.”   He never wasted time, he formed a giant cup filled with molotov cocktail solution. “Don’t get close with the squid, I’m pouring something on it,” he reminded them.   “Yeah,” they all said in chorus.   He counted three seconds and poured the Molotov solution to the squid.   The three, with Peter’s participation, attacked the squid monster with fireballs. The monster growled its loudest growl yet. It was now covered with fire sticking on its skin.   They continued with the fireball attacks. There was a point it looked like the monster would die, but then the next thing, it shook its body to remove all the sticky fire on its body.   The four of them spread out as they went away, dodging the flying sticky fire that came their way. However, Peter’s suit was slightly touched by a small sticky fire, deactivating the suit’s invisibility.   The squid monster was now looking at him, with its known flaring red eyes. The squid remembered him. “We need to get back to dream kingdom,” the girl said. Peter now understood, she had a leader’s trait, so she must be the leader of the group.   “Yeah, I think so, too,” Peter said and the four of them continued to attack the monster.   “We’ll be back there in a flash. That’s the function of this suit,” the girl said. “How would you go there?” she asked.   He grunted as he continued to fire it continuously with the machine guns on the arms of his armor, using the same poisonous bullets. He chuckled. “Quite a function for a funny suit,” he commented. “I’ll only fly with this armor suit,” he said.   “You have to upgrade your suit. It flies faster in the air. That’s why dream kingdom makes sure dreamlord trainees are wearing this suit,” she said.   He chuckled. “Okay. You guys go there. I think I can save myself. If you’ve never heard a Peter Cohen not coming to the dream kingdom today, make sure you tell tales about your adventures with me.” he said, dodging the monster’s tentacle attacks.   She stifled a laugh. “Don’t be dramatic Mr. Peter, you’re a dreamlord,” she said and stopped with the attacks. The squid wasn’t even giving them attention. They could even safely fly to the dream kingdom because the squid was only focusing on Peter. “Let’s go?” she asked the two guys.   She glanced at slightly struggling Peter. “That squid kinda holds grudge against you,” she said and they all left in a flash.   Peter laughed and couldn’t agree more. “That funny suit sure is fast.”   Now, Peter was left with the squid, alone. Of course, he wouldn’t keep fighting the giant glob of squid holding a grudge against him, and he was just going to the dream kingdom.   He followed the teenage girl’s advice, and he upgraded his armor suit while trying to dodge every attack of the monster when it had the chance to attack him.   When he was done, he stopped attacking the squid and gave it a small salute. “Adios,” he said and pressed the button, his suit zoomed in with its turbo, sending him fast to the dream kingdom.   He looked back but he saw the squid catching up, about thirty meters away from him. He laughed. “You’re catching up, huh?” he pressed another button and had the power of the turbo at its highest capacity.   He could see the dream kingdom at a distance now, but when he looked back, the squid monster was getting near to him although he was on his fastest. “s**t, that girl was right.”   He turned around while retaining the pace of his suit, and with his armor, he fired the squid with the machine gun, but this time he made the bullets larger and still filled with a high concentration of venom.   While he did, he could now see the shape of the dream kingdom. He was about three hundred meters from it. The squid, although it slowed down a little, continued to chase Peter.   When he was a hundred meters from the kingdom, the squid slowed down and seemed to shake up, growling. He wondered why and saw the squid disappear on thin air. He grinned. “I did it,” he said. “I killed a squid monster!” he yelled and when he reached the dream kingdom, the three trainees were waiting there, not wearing the funny suit anymore.   “Did you guys see that? I killed a squid monster,” he said, so ecstatic and excited about it.   The three of them shared a glance and laughed a little. “What?” Peter asked.   “You didn’t kill a squid monster, Mr. Peter. You repelled it,” the teenage girl said.   “What? But it disappeared. They react to the high concentration of venom?” he asked.   She shook her head. “Thanks to that, dreamlords and other dream kingdom people successfully repelled those creatures for centuries,” she said, pointing at the orb of light at the top of the tallest castle. “We let the squid follow us to the dream kingdom and intend them to get nearby that light orb to repel them.”   “So, that one just disappeared because of that? So, it could come back again?” he asked.   The girl just chuckled. “You still have a lot of things to learn, Mr. Peter,” she said and turned around, the two following her. “We’ll see you around at some time. We had fun fighting the squid with you,” she said while waving her had, not looking at him.   Feeling embarrassed and dismayed, he roamed around the dream kingdom.   “Do you guys know where I could ask for something about upgrading powers?” he asked a dream goblin and it was probably the tallest one he had ever seen yet in the dream space. Or in the whole dream world. He rarely saw one on the dream space, though.   He kinda felt new about speaking Orrinatta, though, It had been a while since he last spoke it.   “What’s with you randomly asking about an upgrade?” he heard someone say from behind him.   When he turned around, he saw the familiar petite and small goblin, with its small bag. “Wiboe?” he asked and he smiled. “It is you!” he said excitedly.   The dream goblin nodded. “Yeah, it’s me,” he said and continued walking. Peter followed close.   “I’ve never seen you in ages,” Peter said.   “The dream goblin gave him a look. “It’s because you didn’t visit here ever since the last time I brought you here,” the dream goblin said. “So, why do you want to upgrade your dreamlord power? Is your power not enough for you?”   “No, that’s not it. I just want to enhance my dreamlord power. One of them, I want to know if someone could be a dreamlord by just looking at them. Because all I could rely on was the signs and observing a person’s traits,” he said.   The dream goblin stopped and faced him. “You got it easy to be a dreamlord, but upgrading your power...it’s quite challenging. Are you ready for that?”   Peter thought for a while and nodded. “Yeah, I’ll do anything.”
