14 Mermaid? Medusa!

1786 Words
“Don’t look into her eyes!” Peter warned as he picked up the sword from the floor. While Peter’s on the cover, Ray and Zack lifted stoned Josh to a safe corner.   Shattered stoned Josh was the last thing they didn’t want to think of, not now that Medusa was threatening to stone them all.   Looking down, Zack charged at Medusa with his sword, “Die!” he screamed.   Peter was alert. “Zack, What are you doing?” he yelled.   But Medusa saw everything. She easily dodged Zack’s attack and one of the snakes on Medusa’s head had bitten Zack’s neck before she tossed her across the room.   With eyes closed, Peter felt the vibration on the floor as Zack slipped across the basement room, fortunately on the other side where stoned Josh was.   Peter peeked a little behind him to see that Ray had closed his eyes as well, while Zack was holding onto his neck and enduring the pain from the snake bite.   “What’s wrong, dear?” Medusa asked in Orrinatta language, and she was in front of Peter.   Peter immediately closed his eyes again and stayed incredibly still. He shivered as the snakes hissed close to his ears.   He never actually expected Josh would accidentally summon Medusa instead of a mermaid. Knowing the mantra wasn’t always exact in summoning a creature, he expected something like a wild mermaid or something. Not an ancient creature from Greek mythology.   Thinking about the contents of the mantra Josh used, he could recall that Medusa possibly fit under the description of the mantra. That’s the only way, or else the Book Of Dimension had defects, which he highly doubted because it had been used generation after generation.   He thought that the summoners were aware that the mantra wasn’t exact and didn’t seek for a solution to fix the Book Of Dimension.   Peter’s breathing was sharp and he was holding tightly at the sword in his hand.   As Peter was facing Medusa head-on, Ray was helping Zack to put a ripped fabric on Zack’s neck.   “Am I gonna die?” Zack asked Ray.   “I’m familiar with the snake that bit you, and it doesn’t have any deadly venom. But put some pressure on your neck because you could die of bleeding,” Ray said and quickly looked at peter who looked in danger. He closed his eyes and looked back at Zack because Medusa saw him.   “I understand young men come after me. You know, I’m such a beauty,” Medusa said to Peter in a cocky manner.   Peter scoffed. “Too bad. I’m closing my eyes, How can I tell if you’re telling the truth or you’re just full of yourself?”   Medusa’s eyes changed into ones that looked like from a snake, and she hissed like one of them. She held his neck and lifted him by her hand, the other holding Peter’s hand which was holding the sword, keeping him from moving his arm. “How dare you!”   “What’s wrong, Medusa? Can’t you tell that your beauty is not worth seeing?” Ray said as he and Zack approached her with closed eyes.   Medusa was distracted by Ray and Zack, and Peter took this as a chance to yank his hand away from Medusa’s grip and with closed eyes slashed whatever his sword would reach.   The next moment Peter knew, he was thrown away from Medusa. Peter turned and looked at her through the reflection of the sword, and saw that Medusa’s hand was cut out from her arms.   She screamed in pain and was looking at them with rage.   Peter quickly ran to Ray and Zack. “I want you two to distract her. I’m going to attempt to kill her.”   Zack was a little scared. “What if we get bitten by her snakes?”   “We can figure out how to find an antidote. Just don’t get stoned,” Peter reminded.   “How would you do that?” Ray asked.   “Just attack her and I’ll figure out something,” Peter said.   The two just agreed and Peter prepared for his fatal attack.   Zack and Ray approached Medusa, and she wasn’t pleased with losing one hand. One of her snakes vomited what looked like its saliva onto Medusa’s wrist. The saliva of the snake helped Medusa to heal her wrist.   She looked at her lifeless hand a few feet and looked at Zack and Ray, as well as Peter who stood still behind them. She didn’t know what he was up to, and she didn’t know he was planning for her death.   Zack and Ray, whose eyes were closed, slowly approached at either side of Medusa.   Medusa watched the two while thinking of Peter’s attack. “Boys, you don’t know how to handle a woman. You don’t cut a woman’s hand,”   “You’re right,” Peter said from a few distances, slowly approaching as well. “We should know better. But you are not just a woman. You’re Medusa. A deceitful woman who likes to stone people for some reason.”   “What Peter means is, you’re not our type. Not even the guy you just stoned,” Zack said while wincing in pain.   “You could’ve changed Zack’s mind if you didn’t let your snake bite his neck.”   Hearing Medusa, Zack, and Ray talk, Peter estimated their locations by ear, and he already had a pattern of attack in mind.   Ray attacked Medusa first. Shouting, he charged using his sword and slashed his sword at Medusa’s location and managed to decapitate a snake’s head.   “Ouch!” Medusa exclaimed. Hearing that, Zack took the chance and wielded his sword and slashed it in estimation to s***h Medusa’s head.   With the help of Medusa’s snake, she was able to dodge Zack’s attack and pushed Ray who hit his back against the wall where the three doors were. “Ow,” he whimpered in pain and rolled as he touched his back.   Zack’s attack was strong enough to cut three snakes out of Medusa’s head and graze her neck. If she didn’t dodge, Zack must’ve had decapitated her.   Medusa turned to Zack as she was holding onto her bleeding neck. “What did you just do to me?” she asked.   Peter opened his eyes and saw where she was. Medusa was now holding Zack by his collar, lifting him in the air.   He glanced at Ray and saw him recovering, standing slowly.   It was Peter’s only chance. He quickly and silently rushed to Medusa and as he closed his eyes, he jumped against Medusa, aiming for her neck. Zack was shaking and punching Medusa’s arm as he ran out of breath.   Last second Peter would finally cut her head, her snakes interfered. Medusa threw Zack towards the wooden drawer, which, in Zack’s weight, shattered into pieces.   Medusa used her hand to cover her from Peter’s attack and ended up cutting her other hand.   Medusa screamed bloody scream, breathing heavily as she endured another pain and Peter fell was on top of her.   She was glaring at him, but he, fortunately, had his eyes closed.   Ray rushed to Zack who was bleeding so much from the bite on his neck. He used his shirt to aid Zack’s bleeding and peeked at Peter who was now lifting the sword and about to stab her in the heart.   Medusa didn’t let him. Even without both of her hands, she pushed Peter with enough force he was thrown a few feet away from her.   Peter gained his balance and stood up, as well as Medusa.   “Medusa,” Ray called casually. Medusa looked at him as he smiled without opening his eyes. “I’m going to open my eyes for you,” Ray said.   Peter looked at Ray who was gesturing his fingers like snipping a scissor, a sign that he meant to cut Medusa however he planned to.   Medusa stared at Ray’s smile with confusion and anticipation. She smiled. “That’s right. Look at me.” She said slowly walking at Ray, totally unaware of Peter.   She then saw him grin. Ray opened his mouth to say something. “Actually, no. I should tell you, you should watch your—“   As Ray was distracting Medusa, Peter took the chance to wield his sword and in one s***h, he aimed and cut Medusa’s head before she could even turn her head and look at him.   “—back,” Ray opened his eyes and ended his sentence, watching as Medusa’s head rolled away, stopping with her face facing down the floor.   Peter then opened his eyes as well. “It’s done,” he said as he panted and dropped the sword.   Medusa’s body made a short seizure before it lied there in her violet-blue blood.   Zack slowly opened his eyes and grimaced to the blood that splattered slightly across his cheek, as well as Ray.   “That’s disgusting,” Zack said, brushing his fingers on his skin.   Peter took off his shirt and used it to cover Medusa’s head and carried it in his hands.   “Just leave it there,” Ray told him.   Peter shook his head, “We could make use of Medusa’s head later.”   Zack held onto his neck. “I think my bleeding is slowly stopping.”   Peter kicked Medusa’s body and let it roll away to aside.   Ray helped Zack to stand, and Peter placed the covered head of Medusa on top of her body.   Peter walked to Josh’s stoned body.   “What do we do with Josh? He’s stoned. Killing Medusa didn’t help to bring him back alive,” ray said and looked at Peter.   Peter shook his head. “I don’t have any idea, but we should do something to bring him back.”
