13 Summon Mermaid to be a girlfriend

1726 Words
Peter was sitting on the floor while waiting for Josh, Ray, and Zack. Since they had different courses and class schedules, they couldn’t see each other than meeting at the dorm after school.   He threw the tennis ball once more and let it bounce to the wall, to the floor, then back to his hand. The cycle had gone on and on.   It was the only thing he could do to entertain him as he drowned himself to his thoughts.   Being a dream lord had changed him somehow. He could easily remember the dreams he dreamed last night like a memory. The details were vivid to him although the parts he didn’t pay attention to were a little foggy in his mind.   He chuckled as he remembered when he woke up on the morning of the same day. Josh woke him up to his long sleep because he was running late.   Josh also teased him about the obvious bulge he had in the morning, saying Peter had a “rough” dream.   Peter shook his head to his thoughts. “I should think carefully before doing that,” he said to himself.   He started to think of things now that he was a dream lord. He had a lot of chances to create things however he wanted. Although it was a dream, he still had a huge feeling of satisfaction with the fact that he could create and control his dreams. Not just that, he could also enter and spy into other’s dreams.   He knew his ability could benefit him big time one day.   He was aware of lucid dreaming, which was a very hard thing because it needed practice.   But now that he was a dream lord, he didn’t have to practice for long to have limited control over his dream. He could instantly create something in a snap.   Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, but it wasn’t locked so the person outside opened it anyway.   Peter threw the tennis ball when the door was opened and the ball zoomed past on the side of Josh’s face. He stood up in a panic that it would roll on the hallway of the dorm, but he saw an arm stretched on the side of Josh’s head, holding the ball.   A head peeped behind Josh and he saw Ray’s grinning face.   “Back at you,” Ray said and threw the ball back to Peter, which the latter failed to catch.   Josh and Ray entered walked through the doorway and Zack followed behind them.   “You guys went home together?” Peter asked.   The three threw their bags on a corner.   “Yeah, they dismissed the class for regular teacher’s assembly,” Josh said and lied on his bed.   Peter nodded. “I bet it’s for the graduation,” he said.   Zack took off his shirt and threw placed it on his lap. “You bet. Clearance signing’s next week, and graduation’s on the next one.”   Josh grimaced, looking at Zack who’s drenched in sweat. “Will you please take a bath first? Your sweaty smell is reeking in this room.”   Zack ignored him and leaned against the wall.   “Why are you even drenched in sweat. I thought you quit the soccer team?” Peter asked.   Zack nodded. “Yep. But I ran a few lapses on the field.”   “Why?” Ray asked. “I thought you hated  running around.”   “Well, after our summoning encounter, I thought I should build stronger stamina,” Zack said.   “Speaking of,” Ray started. “How are you guys feeling after the summoning?” Ray asked in curiosity.   Zack took his back and took a bag of chips from there. He opened it and placed it on the floor. “Just so-so. I thought I’ll have something like side effects but so far nothing else happened,” Zack said and popped a chip in his mouth.   Ray nodded. “Me too. I thought strange things will happen like creatures hunting me down or some stuff. I had a quite hard time sleeping.”   “I know! After the summoning, I started being a little jumpy. Even small rustles wake me up in the middle of the night,” Zack said and threw a chip toward Josh. It fell on the bed and Josh naively took it and ate it while staring at the mattress of the upper bunk bed.   Ray looked at Peter. “How about you, Pete? You passed out because of the dream goblin. Has it visited your dream last night?”   Josh turned to look at them with a grinning face. “I bet the dream goblin visited him and gave him boners!” He joked. “He had a huge one earlier this morning.   Ray and Zack laughed.   Peter was a little embarrassed and didn’t know what to say. But in his defense he said. “No way! That’s so weird. Of course, it’s because of a random stranger lady in my dream. I know you guys have it too sometimes. Don’t try to be a saint.”   “The cheerleading squad gives me boners sometimes,” Zack said shrugging.   Ray threw him a chip.   Everyone was waiting for Peter’s answer.   He figured if he should tell them about being a dream lord. He actually wouldn’t mind telling them because they were his friends, but would he be able to handle the aftermath of telling them?   Peter thought, no, I can’t.   It wouldn’t hurt them not telling about his secret. He looked at each of them; he knew they had hidden secrets, too. And they weren’t telling him.   It would just be fair for him to not tell them. He had the choice not to since it was his business.   Besides, if they’d know, they’d ask him for a lot of things he could do for them. They were his friend, but they were not an exception from those people who would ask him an unnecessary favor.   Especially Zack. He’d ask him to make girls for him, which sounded like slavery already. To Peter, Zack was kinda bossy.   Another thing was, he didn’t know what it could bring him if he revealed he was a dream lord. He wouldn’t know but it could bring Ray, Josh, and Zack into trouble. Even himself. He wouldn’t know what danger of telling them could bring him.   Trouble or danger, both are bad and he had to avoid that.   Looking into their eyes, Peter chuckled and shook his head. He was also a man. Men could have similar thoughts and he knew they’d just pester him if they knew. “Nope,” he said and took pieces of chips and munched on them.   He added, “Nothing happened yet since yesterday. I didn’t feel any side effects as well.” He tried to joke to make the conversation lighter, “Except the slimy feel I still could feel because of that green goblin.”   Ray and Zack nodded.   Zack realized Josh’s sudden silence as if he had fallen into deep thoughts.   Josh was contemplating his thoughts. The three but him had summoned something. Although summoning the green goblin caused them a little trouble, he thought he could probably summon, too.   “I want to summon, too,” Josh suddenly said.   The three, who was at that time laughing about something else, looked at Josh.   “Are you sure?” Zack asked him.   Ray nodded as if he remembered. “You said you’d summon today, right?”   Josh nodded with certainty. “Would it be good to summon beautiful creatures like a mermaid?”   “That’s good, but that sounded a little weird. If you want a girlfriend, I can make you meet one of some girls I know. Some of them probably like you,” Ray suggested, a little teasing.   “I’d love to. But have you guys thought of having fantastic creatures as your girlfriend? It sounds exotic but mermaid and beautiful spirit fairies are one of a kind. They’re ethereal,” Josh said, now sitting on the edge of his bed.   Zack nodded. “Well, that’s not possible. I think I saw something like a mantra to summon a mermaid.”   Peter disapproved slightly. “Wouldn’t it be dangerous? I mean, when I summoned the dream goblin, if I failed to get out of that dream, I would’ve died.”   “I think it wouldn’t be a problem. Mermaid is a common creature compared to goblins or skeleton warriors. Should we check the mantra first?” Ray asked.   After discussing, they were all prepared to go back to the villa. Ray’s car was used again and they arrived at the villa at four in the afternoon. It was still pretty early.   Without wasting time, they rushed to the basement and took the book and flipped through the pages for the mermaid mantra.   “Look, there it is!” Josh said.   “Then go to your position,” Ray said, stepping aside. “You can just form the summoning circle alone.”   “How do I do that?” Josh asked.   “Just focus your spiritual power. The book will help you,” Zack said and Peter watched carefully.   Seconds passed, and a basic circle was under him.   “That was easy,” Ray murmured.   Josh read the mantra:   The minor creature from the world of Nylathurow;  A beautiful half humanoid creature of mystique and beauty.  In your voice I sing with you; your heart I shall cherish.  In my name, Josh Lee, I command you to appear in this world!   The swirling of wind came, and so as the portal. But an accident happened.   When the creature went out of the portal, Josh was stoned to where he stood.   “Josh!” Peter yelled.   Next was chaos.
