35 Expelling Demons From Three Years Ago Part III

“Kill me?” the possessed kid asked and stood up, glancing behind the two with a grin.   The two looked behind them and saw a French man entering the lobby. “You mean, kill us?” the French man said in English. “Just try,” he added.   Beth and Bryan looked at each other. “Is this part of the plan?” Beth asked.   Bryan shook his head. “Sounds like we have to improvise for a new plan,” he said. He started walking towards the French man. “I’ll handle this one, handle the kid,”   Beth sighed. “Why am I the one being ordered around? And why am I the one handling the kid?” she asked. She murmured, “I’m weak for kids.”   She looked at the kid with glaring red eyes and grimaced. “This ain’t a kid, alright.”   Bryan only chuckled and took his demon dagger.   Beth sighed once again in defeat. She removed the knuckles off of her fingers and threw it somewhere else before she took the demon dagger from her holster.   The kid started levitating. She watched him and gripped tightly at her dagger. “Let’s not make this harder, alright?” she asked.   Meanwhile, she didn’t know Bryan was already fighting with the French man, and they were on the living room now.   The French man was thrown to the lit fireplace, and his clothes were on fire. He repelled the fire with his bare hands and Bryan saw how the French man didn’t have any bruise, just marking of black from coal.   “You know earth’s fire won’t burn me, don’t you?” the Frenchman asked and cracked his neck.   Bryan nodded. “Well, I know now, thanks for telling me,” he said.   Next, think he knew, the Frenchman ran to him and threw him across the room, and now he was in the kitchen. Bryan quickly recovered with a grunt. “You don’t have any originality. Why do you copy me?”   Beth didn’t know what to do with the kid, and she was just there, doing a staring contest with the kid.   Benedict grinned. “When you cross the road, what do you do?” the possessed kid asked.   Beth was confused but she looked to her left, only to see an incoming piano about to hit her. Her eyes widened in shock and she quickly tumbled and landed on the same spot she stood up.   “That’s cheating,” she complained.   The kid grinned. “I don’t have any rules to follow.”   Now, Beth had made up her mind. She was now determined to kill the demon inside the kid. But he didn’t want to make it hard for her, so she needed to plot a plan that would work at one single deploy.   At the moment, she couldn’t think of anything. The best she could do was to defend herself from the kid and attack him when she got the chance.   Beth took her demon gun and aimed it at the kid.   The kid grinned yet again and controlled the couch to hit her.   Beth squealed when she was caught by the couch, hitting the wall. The gun was thrown to a side and the kid controlled to bend it over and break it.   On the other hand, Bryan was now under the Frenchman, and he was in a chokehold.   Bryan struggled to get the dagger from his pocket and stabbed it on the possessed Frenchman’s stomach. He retracted his hand along with the dagger and watch as the Frenchman growled in pain before he jumped off of him, hissing.   Bryan’s attack wasn’t fatal until he’d stab the Frenchman on the head or chest. That’s the only way to kill the demon inside of a normal human.   He coughed and stood up, taking the chance to completely kill the demon while it was trying to heal. He stood in front of the Frenchman and swung his hand to stab the Frenchman on the head, but the Frenchman caught his hand.   The fight went on.   Beth recovered and stood up from the couch. “That couch is soft, thank you,” she said.   The kid levitated to her and just like the woman she jst handled before, she was held by the neck again.   It didn’t sink in to Beth’s mind; At how a kid could carry her by the neck. Well, he kept forgetting the kid was possessed by a demon.   She struggled to breathe and grinned when she saw Bryan behind the kid.   She took the water gun Bryan gave him and shot it to the kid’s face, spraying the elves’ pee.   The kid rubbed his face with his hand. “You know that doesn’t affect me, right?” the kid asked.   “I know,” she struggled to say and grinned before her vision started getting hazy. “I was just distracting you,” she said.   Bryan came with the dagger in his hand and jumped to the back of the kid, making the kid let go of Beth.   She fell on the floor and quickly gasped for air while coughing.   Now, the kid was struggling to get Bryan off of him, at the same time, Bryan was struggling to stab the kid with the demon dagger.   “Get off me!” the kid screamed.   Beth was slowly getting her composure and took the dagger as well.   “I love kids, but I’m starting to hate them,” Beth said while still coughing.   Bryan had the chance to stab the kid on the head and kill the demon inside him, but before the dagger could even get near the kid, the kid threw him across the room, to the same spot Beth was thrown with the couch.   Beth didn’t want to lose the chance, so she charged at the kid.   The kid turned to Beth but only saw her coming at him. He didn’t expect it, so before he could push her away, Beth successfully stabbed the demon dagger on the kid’s head, making the demon get out of the kid’s body and disappeared from sight.   Beth was quick to catch the passed-out kid on her arms.   The kid was about ten years old and he was too heavy for her so their weight’s fall was hurtful for Beth’s bum.   She groaned and lied down the kids on the floor, checking his pulse. He was normal, which was a relief to her.   She ran to Bryan and helped him up. “Did you kill the Frenchman?” she asked.   Bryan chuckled. “Be careful with your words. We only kill the demons, not the actual possessed person.”   Beth rolled her eyes. “Yeah, right.”   “Yep, I killed the Frenchman,” he answered.   Beth went through some thinking. “You know, these demons were from the last summoning of Edgar Lee, right?” she asked.   “Yeah, why?”   She sighed. “That means his copy of Book Of Dimensions is somewhere else,” she said.   “And?” Bryan asked, limping a little.   “I just felt like Roger will ask me or us about finding that copy of Book Of Dimensions,” she said.   Bryan only chuckled and shook his head, anticipating he’d get a call of favor from Roger soon.   At Present   “I’ll do my best,” Beth sighed.   Roger smiled. “Thank you, Beth. You know you’re the only one I can count on. Aside from Bryan,” he said. “But tell me if you don’t want to proceed, I can just ask him alone.”   “Ask him alone?” she asked.   The old man hesitated. “What happened three years ago...you nearly died. You should’ve died if Bryan wasn’t there. You wouldn’t be able to kill two demons at the same time. I mean, you could, but I couldn’t just risk that. That’s why I sent Bryan over.” He smiled. “You guys work well together.”   “Wait, is Bryan going with me?” she asked.   “Why? You don’t want to?” Roger asked back.   Beth paused and shook her head. “No, I didn’t mean that. It’s just that...it’s been a while since I saw him,”   “Yeah. He also said the same as you. Knowing you’ll agree anyway, he agreed to come with you,” he said.   “Are you guys talking about me?” Came from behind Beth was Bryan, looking no different than the last time she’d saw him. She smiled at Beth and patted her shoulder. “It’s been a while.”   She nodded and shook hands with Bryan. “But where do we find the book, anyway? You said the villa was burned down to ashes now.”   “I can’t tell for now, but the book could still be in there. The villa is now legally registered to Edgar’s nephew. My secretary’s still looking at it, so hang on a bit. I’ll tip you guys when she found something—“ Roger’s words were cut off when a lady appeared behind him.   “Roger?” the lady called him and showed him some papers. They murmured there, leaving Beth and Bryan on an awkward silence.   “Okay, thank you,” Roger said and the secretary left. He looked at the two. “So, my secretary just found out that Edgar Lee’s nephew and his friends used it three years ago,”   “Is it accurate?” she asked and Roger just nodded. “Does the nephew have the book?” she asked again.   “It’s either Edgar Lee’s son or one of his friends,” Roger said.   “Do you know their names?” Bryan asked.   “Josh Lee, Ray Gavinson, Zack Deppe, and...” he paused to breathe. “Peter Cohen.”
