50 Measuring Dorothy’s Power Attribute

“Do you need this?” Wiboe asked, handing him a familiar crystal orb that made him recall the one the dream goblin used when he was brought back to the dream space.

He looked at the orb in the dream goblin’s small hand and grinned. “I think I won’t need that,” he said. “Is the dream-admiring squid still out?”

They walked out of the merchant’s shop and Peter was guided back to the entrance.

“Oh, the one you drew near here?” Wiboe asked with a glance at him. “If it disappeared, it just went back to their lair.”

“How do you know it’s the lair they went back to?” Peter asked curiously.

“We know because dream guards report to us every time a squid monster is around. Through the centuries that we’ve handled squid monster when they go near the dream light tower, they disappear with no reports of them reappearing in another place. Although we still don’t know where their lair was, If you saw them disappear, that means they just went back to their lair,” he said.

Peter stifled a laugh. “You didn’t have to provide such long explanation, but thanks,” he said. The long explanation gave him assurance that he’d safely arrive at the dream space.

“How do I use this, by the way?” he asked, showing the bean with a yellow inner glow. “As you said, do I just need to put this on my chest and use it as is or do I need to do anything else?”

The dream goblin gave him a look. “Try putting it by your chest without touching it,” the dream goblin instructed, gesturing his small hand to his chest.

Peter hesitated but followed what the dream goblin told him. He slowly brought the stone close to the center of his chest and it stayed there out of his hold, a black chain thread hanged over his neck, the two ends intertwining around the bean.

It was now a necklace.

He stared at it in amazement. “Is this mine now?” he asked.

“One bean only has one owner,” the dream goblin said. “There’s one more thing,” the goblin remembered. “The test won’t work at once. You should create dream scenes on her dream and how she reacts to it will determine what glow the dream stone will provide you. It would be better if you put up to five scenes for her to react. The color that a person mostly got from the dream stone is the result. Bright green if that person’s normal, blue if average or potential descendant, and red if they are dreamlord.”

“But what if I couldn’t control her dream?” Peter asked.

The dream goblin smiled. “Don’t worry, everything will work as you wish with the dream stone. Everything will work because you want to control her dream for a test. And since it’s your second time, the dream-controlling should work.”

Peter nodded. “Okay, I understand. I’ll remember what you said.” He looked around. “I should be going now,” he said.

The dream goblin. “Keep our deal. Recruit dreamlord for me. If you found someone worthy of being a dreamlord, summon me to your dream,” he said. “I must warn you that if you don’t keep our deal, you’ll face the consequence.”

Peter only nodded. “I don’t break deals with you, Wiboe,” he reassured with a faint smile. “See you around,” he said and waited for the dream goblin to turn around and go back inside the kingdom.

When he got to the entrance, at the two tall gates of the kingdom were two gigantic stone monsters. As he could remember, they were taller than the sphinx. They looked at him and then looked away.

Since he was intimidated, he quickly created a flying car and he drove down to the dream space. When he was in the dream space, he parked in front of the copy of his house and made the car disappear.

He walked toward Dorothy’s house and found her dream orb there. He saw scenes inside the dream rob so he was right that she was sleeping.

He held the orb and entered her dream.

What he saw there was a scene where there was snow. She was playing by the snowfield and having fun. He smiled. At least, it was not something like the last dreams he saw her dream.

Since he wanted pure results from the test, he chose to not reveal his identity to Dorothy. Because he thought if she knew it was him, the whole test might be affected by Dorothy being distracted with the knowledge that it was Peter, whom she just formally met yesterday.

He wore a mask designed with a robot character and stayed out of her sight as he watched her play with a bear made out of snow. He kinda felt bad if he’d just change her dream. While watching, he let her enjoy the dream. When he saw that the scene was changing, that’s when he interrupted.

He wasn’t sure that he would succeed in changing the scene of her dream but he tried anyway and surprisingly, he succeeded,

He changed the dream into a dream where there were monster villains. The monsters he used were animal monsters, and they were there to eat human flesh. If things would go wrong, he would need to interrupt and make the monster disappear.

The scene was on a grassy field with few plants and trees so there would be a place he could hide.

He watched carefully as she ran and scream. She was a fast-runner at the dream.

She continued to run, but the scary bear monster was keeping up on her pace. She ran as she frequently looked at her back, screaming louder when she saw the bear monster was getting nearer at her. “Don’t kill me!” she screamed.

She reached the moment when she was cornered by the animal monsters. As she started crying, she slowly took something from one of her boots. A knife.

Every animal monster ran at her and she killed the three. There were still two that were left and she was sure they would attack at the same time. And she was right.

The two monsters ran at her to eat her flesh but Peter had to stop because he didn’t want to see more gruesome scenes.

Picked the dream stone up as it was hanged on his chest and waited for it to react before he would change the dream scene. After a few seconds, at his count, eleven seconds, the dream stone gave a green glow. He remembered what the dream goblin told him and it was normal.

He then moved to the second dream. He wanted it to be interactive, so he made an escape room for her. Some clues might lead to traps that will make it effective for her to react well to the scene.

She woke up in a confined room, without any visible door or exit. Just a room filled with some random things with clues and puzzles for her to solve.

He didn’t give that much task. He just wanted her to find the key and the keyhole that will make the door appear. He was watching her through surveillance.

Dorothy roamed around the room and broke one head statue by her hand. She saw a key there.

Peter was surprised to see what just happened. She was supposed to find at least a clue directed to another and then another clue. She then looked around and peeked under the table, where she saw a keyhole. She twisted the key in there and something square outline the wall. She turned the key again and the square door opened and when she crawled out, it led her to an empty airplane.

Just then, Peter saw the dream stone glow blue. It meant she was average.

Well, it was because of how she quickly found the key without using any clues. That was too fast.

He changed to another dream scene and this time, it was a dream where she was trapped in a video game. She needs to kill or else she would be the one who could get killed.

On the first level, she showed such impressive performance. She killed twenty enemies alone and even saved some of her teammates. It continued until the second round.

Third and last round, the fight was tight and she had to face a lot more groups of enemies. There was a moment she got out of ammo so she searched around and found a bag of ammo as she needed. It was just like when he saw her by that top of the building when she found a katana and other things.

So far, she had been reacting to the scenes he was creating like how she would on her dream.

She won the last level and when Peter looked at the dream stone, he was surprised to see that it gave him a glow of color blue. So far, she had one bright green and two blue.

In the majority, she was average. Although he would still go on two more scene tests, she already gave him the majority of the result. He thought he would be very shocked if the dream stone suddenly gave a red glow.

One thing’s for sure for now. With the majority of blue glow given by the dream stone, she could be a potential dreamlord.
