Crossing Path

Episode 3

Michael left Zara down to Coast city two months ago after his graduation, he stayed with his best friend Kenny in his rented apartment. Kenny has been familiar with the city for five years since his parents settled down. They both graduated from the same university. Kenny is a journalist who works with one of the top media stations in Coast city. Michael used the time being with him to secure a job as a Doctor. Apart from the dreams he had of him owning a hospital, he knew he had to undergo some pieces of training and be a professional in it before he get to own an accredited private hospital of his own.

It was a sunny Friday; Kenny did not go to work, his babe Linda came around. They all sat in the parlor watching a romantic movie. It was a good moment for them both, he was just busy pinging his phone so he won't be oppressed by their love. Michael was mourning my loneliness, he couldn't just control it anymore, he was forced to voice out;

"The way you both play your love is quite fascinating, Michael said " at least pity we the singles" He added

"I never begged you to be single dear Michael." Kenny mocked him

They all burst into laughter

"Coercion it is then," Michael said ignoring their love play "I will find one soon." He said going back pinging on his phone

"You better do just that," Kenny said aloud

"But come to think of it, why are you still single?" Linda asked

"Don't you know that his missing ribs left him for another man" Kenny mocked me the more

The both of them laughed trying to catch a cruise on him.

"When the right time comes, she will find me" Michael replied

"Who will find who, you or her?" Kenny asked rhetorically

They burst into another round of laughter, this time around it was deep

"I'm craving for pizza Kenny," Michael said

"Pizza?" Kenny retorted; " The single one is now craving pizza to keep him company." He mocked Michael the more

They all laughed

"I would need to get some." Michael said "Help me with your car key please." He implored

"I would love to eat as well," Angel mumbled

"I would get some for you both," Michael retorted

"The car key is on my reading table," Kenny said pointing to the room direction

"Alright" Michael replied

Michael went out to get us pizza using his car. He drove past a gorgeous-looking lady that was standing under the sun waiting for a cab. Unknown to him, the lady he admires is his twin sister. With the peek of things, he felt this thrust to help her out because the sun was harsh and no cab appeared to show up. He reversed the car.

"Hello pretty lady," Michael greeted, "hope you don’t mind me dropping you off?" He invited

"That will be so nice of you, sir," she reacted

Immediately, with no hesitation, she plunged into the car and mumbled a thank you to me with a smiling face that was so charming. So on their way to where Michael is supposed to drop her off, they both engage each other in a long talk, as if they’ve known each other for a long.

"I am Michael and you?" He inquired

"Mitchell is the name, sir!" She responded.

"What a lovely name you got," Michael confessed

"Thank you, sir." She acknowledged

"Please, just call me Michael," He asserted.

"What is a pretty lady like you doing under the sun?" Michael raised a question

"I was waiting for a cab but none seem to show up" She countered

"Oh! Sorry about that" He let out

"It's fine sir, I appreciate your kind gesture" She acknowledged

"It's nothing, we sure should help one an another in stranded times like this,"

Mitchell smiled, she looks really pretty. He wasn't really into lady's so he didn't push further, Michael didn't want to take advantage.

"So, where are you heading to?" Michael asked trying to get her interest

"Pizza plaza" She retorted

"Good thing that is where I was heading to before I sighted you," He said smiling sheepishly

"That's nice," She said trying to make herself relaxed

"Please make use of the seat belt," Michael said "You know these road officers can be so mean at it sometimes" he illustrated

"It's true" She reacted as she tries using the seat belt

She looked at me and smiled. Michael thought about how the connection got in so fast. He had dropped her off already and waved her goodbye. His mind is being unsettled. It was so unusual for him to drop a lady that he don’t know of. Michael then flashback on how he first met Mercy in school, they were both heading to the lecturer's office to submit their first-semester project in 200L, they mistakenly clashed with each other and both their books fell on the floor. From that day on, they become friends. Mercy had a spot for Michael, but he refused to give her a go-ahead answer because he was not ready for a relationship yet. Michael was still thinking about Mitchell, who he had dropped, the name kept ringing in his ears;

"Michael, are you alright?" He kept on asking himself.

The absurdest part was that they didn’t get to exchange phone numbers, he glanced through the window but she was already gone. So he said to himself that maybe because he got no time for women ever since in his school days. Michael ensure the face for that day ratified away but the feeling he got after then never left him; he came back to his normal self after the whole scenario.

"Oh, s**t!!!" He had forgotten that he was to go get pizza a while ago.

"Those two lover birds must be waiting for me," Michael said letting a smile out

Michael came down from the car, went straight into the pizza plaza to get the pizza. He wondered how Coast city pizza could be this small unlike Zara's own. Michael had to buy extra because he knows Kenny to be a gastronomist, he bought more than enough not to get complaints later on. Michael came out of the plaza with the pizzas and got into the car then drove off.
