Chapter Nine

2211 Words
***2 years later*** I found a nice countryside property that is in my budget range, and I am off to go view it with Robert and Derek hoping that it is what I am looking for and slightly enjoyed that I have managed to get this opportunity after some time. As we get to the property, we wait outside of the gates for the retailer to come and show us around. After 10 minutes someone turns up and I am hoping it is the retailer otherwise we look like complete standing outside an un-owned property which could be seen as us trespassing. As the person leaves the car and heads towards us, he greets us with a smile as he gets closer. “Hi, you must be Celeste, Robert and Derek, my name is Lukas and I’ll be the one showing you around this lovely property.” Lukas says as he approaches us. “Hi, it is nice to meet you, at first we thought you were not coming.” I reply while shaking his hand. “Oh no I will not miss the chance to go around this house one last time that is if it meets your criteria.” Lukas explains. “I am sure it will since it makes me warm inside just looking at its exterior.” I state. “Well shall we.” Lukas says while motioning us to go inside. Lukas leads us through the whole property asking us the usual retailer questions as we go; I believe this could be the one that I will buy as it meets every part of my criteria and comes with a large area of land. When the tour ends, I tell Lukas that this is the property that I will be purchasing. Once we get back to the flat, I phoned the retail company to confirm that I will be purchasing the property. Derek walks over with a plate of cheese and ham salad for me as I was on the phone, so he did not bother shouting that food was done. I take the plate off him and place it on my knee while I just finalize the payment plan. With the phone call over I dig into my salad as I have not eaten since breakfast and still have a lot to do before teatime so this salad is what will keep the three of us going till then. Once the food is devoured, we start to pack up our things into moving boxes as we move into the property in just three days; I was advised the sooner the better to move in and claim the property as someone could come along and snatch it up with a better offer if we take too long. ***3 days later*** With everything packed up into the moving vans and ready to go; we collect the final things from the flat making sure that it is as we left it as when we first moved in. I am going to miss this place, but it is time to move on and upgrade to a larger property if Robert wants to start a family. *There are so many memories here* *I know Kia, I know but now we can make new memories in the new place, and we can keep your bloodline going if we have children* *True, I guess we do need a bigger place for that* With a big sigh let out from the both of us, I shut and lock the flat door for the last time as if closing this chapter of our lives for good. We wait for the elevator for the last time and once we get to the ground floor I hand the keys to Liam, yes, I did get the desk boys name, and say bye. I walk out the building to meet the guys waiting in Derek’s truck and we set off to the new property. ***2 hours later*** We finally get to the property we meek Lukas who hands us the keys and bids us good luck and hope we enjoy the property for many years. We thank him and open the front gates so we can let the movers’ park in front of the house, and we park our lovely Range Rover over by the barn for the time being until we have everything unloaded from the vans and into the house. We all do our part including the moving people to bring all the boxes carefully into the house so we can get unpacked and get organized as well as sort through the amount of stuff we have collected and think of a theme the house is going to take. *Well, here we are Kia, new place, new chapter of our lives* It takes us about an hour to unload the vans and we thank the men for their duties and send them on their way with some refreshments and some food as I doubt, they have eaten for a while. Once the movers’ have departed, we take the boxes labelled ‘kitchen’ into the kitchen and unload them, so we are able to make ourselves something to eat before we get to the unpacking of the rest of the boxes. ***5 hours later*** With majority of the boxes unpacked we settle down for the evening with some warm hot chocolate and some lovely soup by the fireplace. With our beverages and our soup finished we decide to head off to bed as we have some cleaning up to do tomorrow and plans to come up with for the two barns and the paddock we have on our land. Also, where to plant our fruit and veg garden as well as our herbs and spices. I have always wanted to live off the land with my own grown food and will only purchase meat food from local sources to the house now. Kai purrs at that last part. ***12 hours pass*** We all wake up to the freezing cold draught coming through the living room, so I get up and put some firewood in the fireplace and light the fire seeing as we still did not have the central heating up and running. Derek and Robert head into the kitchen to make some breakfast with the little groceries that we have now before we head onto town to replenish the cupboards and to get seeds for the gardens. After breakfast me and Robert head into the nearest village to go and get some supplies for the property while Derek gets on with the cleaning around the property. We walk around several shops before finally heading back to the car and heading food. As we approach the house, we see Derek de-weeding the gardens and the paths making them look more presentable and more beautiful. We Park the car in front of the house, and we start to empty the car into the back barn since most of it is for the grounds; Derek takes the food inside and puts it away in the right places in the kitchen. We head into the living room to plan out the theme and the layout of the house and the grounds. We walk around the grounds into the back barn and think that this should be just used as storage for building and decorating materials. One corner will be made out of concrete room to store the paints and building materials, so they will not be destroyed due to any insects and rats as well as the weather outside. The room will be temperature controlled. The second barn will be used as a barn to keep animals in and will be heated with central heating so the animals will not freeze during the winter and overheat during the summer. The paddock next to the barn will also have heating for the horses, when we get some, and will probably be redone out. ***2 months later*** We managed to get both barns and the paddock done out and ready for use. The house has been done out decorated with a lovely country theme. With all the renovation work finished we unpack all of the boxes into their rightful places since we only unpacked a few of the boxes we required during the renovations. Once the house is sorted, we all settle down with some takeout and watch a bit of TV before planning on what we are going to do financially as we are still going to need some sort of income as the savings will not keep us going for our entire lives since we had to quit out last jobs before the move. Robert is the only one with an actual income due to him having his own business that he opened a*****e in the nearest village whilst still having the original back in Birmingham. I grab my laptop and decide to do some job hunting especially something that is not too far away and something that I am capable of doing. After an hour or so of job searching, I managed to find a couple of jobs that were close by and that I was capable of doing without having to travel extreme miles every day. Now I just have to wait for a response and hopefully I should be able to get a job since there are plenty of openings due to the war being over and people needing jobs/workers to support themselves/their businesses and to start the economy again. I go and lay down on the patio swing since it is a nice day to soak up the sunny rays while it lasts since it is not that often we get nice hot beautiful days in the UK. *Kia, how are you liking it here* *You know what I love it. It is so peaceful and quiet. It is just us and nature, no city congestion* *Yeah, I have to agree, and you know what else we could do* *What is that* *We can finally let you out to go for a good run without the worry and risk of being caught* *Omg, you are right, I cannot wait* *Maybe tomorrow night I will let you out* ***2 hours later*** I feel someone prodding me, probably to wake me up, I open my eyes to see Robert standing over me prodding my arm; guess I must have fallen asleep here for a couple of hours. “Hey time to wake up someone is here.” Robert says still prodding my arm. “Who is it?” I respond slapping his hand away. “No idea but they seem to be asking for you?” He says shrugging his shoulders. “Me, why?” I question confused. “They would not say.” He says shrugging again. “Okay, tell them I’ll be right there.” I reply and Robert walks back into the house. I gather myself together before heading inside and to the front door to see why they are here and why they want to see me. I approach the door to see a tall man standing there waiting patiently. “Hi, can I help you?” I ask him cautiously. “Are you Celeste?” He answers my question with a question. Really guy. “Yes, I am, but what are you doing here?” I ask him. “I’m here because I received this and thought maybe you have a better idea of what it is.” He explains showing me the documents in his hand. “How did you find me and what makes you think I’ll be able to help you?” I again question him. “I found you online as it says that you worked in the field about ancient and weird ruins and artifacts.” He continues. “I did it as a side project but never worked in the field as it wasn’t something I really wanted to pursue a career in.” I explain. “Okay understandable but is there a chance you could look at this and let me know what you find.” He pleads. “I guess it couldn’t hurt.” I reply as this guy hands me a folder filled with documents then hands me his card with his details on. I say goodbye to him while closing the door and take the stuff and place them onto the table while I head into the kitchen to make a fresh pot of coffee as it seems it’s going to be a long night of going through this man’s folder. I hear someone walk into the kitchen, so I turn around to see that it is only Derek; he grabs a cup out of the cupboard and steal some of my lovely freshly made coffee, I snarl at him, and he just shrugs me off. I grab the pot and a cup and head back over to the table in which I left the folder and place them down; I head over to the study to grab some pens and notebooks, so I able to write down my findings.
