Love's Gentle Thaw

CHAPTER NINE

WILL'S MANSION

(Later in the evening)

" Autumn acted strange earlier today." Sawyer said to Sebastian just after they finished having dinner. It was just the both of them at home.

Their dad hadn't come home once, obviously he doesn't care and their stepmom, going and coming.

" How. " He asked.

" She told me to stay away from her. " Sawyer said and Sebastian frowned inquisitively.

" Maybe she was in a bad mood." He said. Although he knows why she acted that way." Mom called." He said switching the topic and Sawyer's mood changes immediately.

" It's none of my business. " She said.

"Sway, she's still our mother. " He said and Sawyer shook her head.

" She shouldn't have left. " She suddenly yelled.

" She had her reasons. Dad cheated and....."

" Her reasons were pointless. " She interrupted and Sebastian sighed defeatedly." I don't wanna talk about it." She said calmly and Sebastian nodded gently standing up and heading towards his room.

His family wasn't that perfect, his dad cheated on his mom when he and Sawyer were 10 and 8 respectively. His mom left and since then, Sawyer hasn't been the same anymore. Sebastian spent five years in LA with his mom before he transferred to HiddenVile.

He suddenly stared out of his window and autumn was there staring at him. They both stared at each other for a while until she pulled the blinds.

******

Autumn left the window after afterwards leaving her room to get water from the kitchen.

" Mum, I'm going to study at a friend's place tonight. " Maeve said.

" You know it's okay as long as it's book. " Aunt Gina said.

" Yeah, yeah we'll be reading a lot tonight. " Maeve said excitedly and autumn scoffed.

Who was she fooling?

It was obvious she was going to a club.

" Hey, get me a glass of water. " Aunt Gina said and autumn secretly rolled her eyes.
