Love's Gentle Thaw

CHAPTER EIGHT

Autumn was staring at the novel but she wasn't really reading it. She was in deep thoughts.

Was this really her?.

The question lingered on her mind.she stood up immediately and with looking at him, she ran to the restroom. She didn't stop until she got to the restroom and locked the door.

For the first time in four years, she suddenly wished she could cry. After her parents death nine years ago, Autumn cried for five years but during the sixth year, the tears stopped falling. She just couldn't cry even though she's actually crying.

Maybe she's used to the pain or needed a friend whose shoulder she can lean on and share her secrets with.

She just feels broken, feels so broken that she thought being cold would heal her .

If she hadn't been so childish, her parents would still be alive by now and she would probably have thousand of friends. She stared at her expression in the mirror and the reflection she saw wasn't hers. It wasn't how she looks like within.

And Sebastian, he's making her want to go back to her old sef but it's not gonna happen. She wasn't ready to let go yet.

A WEEK LATER

school was closed for the day and students were trooping out. Autumn was back to her normal life and she and Sebastian were back yo ignoring each other although he'd tried to speak to her. And Carlo, he had minded his own business but she was sure it wasn't gonna be for long.

Autumn bumped into ivory and Maeve as she shut her locker .

She just stared at them and walked off. Maeve was angry but she didn't wanna get beaten of course .

" I hate your cousin. " Maeve frowned.

" You don't hate her more than I do. " Maeve said glancing back at autumn who was far gone. " What about Sebastian? " Maeve asked and Ivory hissed.

" He's a huge red flag, I'm over him."Ivory said and maeve laughed.

Autumn met Sawyer outside the school.

" Come on autumn, let's go home together. "

" Stay away from me. " She said making Sawyer flinch. Autumn signed and headed for the bus stop. Maybe it's best if she stays away from her too.
