Love's Gentle Thaw

CHAPTER SEVEN

Autumn sat alone in a secluded area in the cafeteria. She was done eating, just reading a novel and suping her juice.

Sebastian searched with his eyes where to seat but found none. He'd rather sit with autumn than sit with any of the girls throwing him seductive glances.

Carlo retreated his step when he saw Sebastian sit with autumn. He gnashed his teeth in anger.

" Seems you weren't fast enough. " Liam said and Carlo sits on at his table .

" Yeah. " He muttered with his gaze still on them.

" I think you're obsessed Carlo. Not in love. " Liam said and Carlo glared at him angrily. " She doesn't look like one who's interested in you Carlo. " He continued.

" Just watch me Liam."

Sebastian stared at the girl in front of him. She didn't say a word when he sat down and neither did he.He gaze intently at her searching for answers, answers to the questions he'd always wanted to ask her when he first saw her .

" Stare at me again and I'll make you go blind. " She said authoritatively like she really had the ability to do such .

" Are you always like this? " He asked the first thing he has been yearning to ask. She removed her gaze from the novel and stared at him with he usual cold look.

" I am. " She muttered and returned her attention back to her novel.

Hell no. He wasn't gonna believe that. It's either she's an expert in pretending or this was how she really is. He's a very observant person but when he comes to autumn, he doesn't see anything. She doesn't reveal any emotion and her eyes are blank making it hard for him to read her but one thing was certain. She was broken and in pains.

" I don't know what you're going through autumn but you're gonna eventually break down when you can't hide it anymore." He finally said and for a moment, he felt her eyes soften. He saw mixed emotions in them but it went back to coldness before he could fathom what the emotions were .
