Chapter 3
Blood Crystal pack.
Alpha’s Manor.
In his chamber, alpha Maddox was seated beside the bed on which lay the unconscious Carmiltha. Her wounds had been tended to and her ragged outfit was no more present on her body, but rather, a pink cotton gown.
Maddox stroked his mate’s hair as he observed her features. Despite everything that she went through, she was still pretty and hot.
The door opened and his Beta, Julian Barker, a blonde-haired man, 6ft tall, dressed in casual clothes, walked in, donning a serious expression.
“Alpha, the prince of Moon Stream is here with his sister,”
“Ok. Throw her into the dungeon and have those criminals have fun with her. If she’s still alive after that, feed her to the snakes,” Maddox ordered.
“Yes, Alpha,” the Beta bowed and then turned to leave.
“Oh, and another thing. Strip that Harold of his attires and make him kneel outside the throne room.”
“Yes, alpha king,” bowing his head again, the beta left the chamber while Maddox focused on his way once again.
Meanwhile in the throne room of Blood Crystal pack.
Angelica Woods and her brother Harold had been anxiously waiting for the Alpha King to come to see them. However, they were baffled to see only the Beta return with several armed guards.
“Prince Harold, thus is the Alpha King’s decree. Your sister will reside in the worst section of the pack’s dungeon and you will be one of the decorations in front of the throne room. The order takes effect immediately,”
With that, the guards behind him headed to the siblings and separated them despite their resistance. “What’s the meaning of this?” Harold asked with a deep frown.
“It’s what you think it is. Strip the alpha prince and burn his clothes. He is to kneel outside the throne room until he’s half dead!” the beta commanded.
“Aye, sir!” the guards gingerly chorused.
“You... You can’t do this to me. I’m an alpha prince!” Harold yelled. “And you’re still below our alpha king,” the beta smirked.
Alpha’s chamber.
Camila slowly peeled her eyes open and found after scanning with her eyes that darted from left to right, that she was in an unfamiliar room. She felt a headache as she tried to recall what happened.
Yeah, that’s right, she was beaten by the gamma’s son Ian, along with three of his scum friends. Her right hand was broken and that was all she recalled. No, scratch that, she did feel someone big and strong
carry her tenderly. She felt his amazing fragrance of sandalwood and the warmth in his arms was something she longed for.
She tried to get off the bed and that was when the door opened.
A tall, ripped man with a burly build and golden hair walked in majestically.
Immediately, her nose met with that familiar fragrance. So this was the man? He’s really good-looking and left that vile Alpha prince Harold in the dust. He’ll, they were miles apart.
“Hey, you’re awake,” he said to her as he made for the bed. She nodded, “Yeah,”
Internally, her wolf was excited, ‘Ooh Carmiltha, this walking piece of meat is out mate. Our second chance mate!’
Carmiltha wasn’t that excited. She, rather, felt nervous. If she guessed right, she was no longer in the Moon Stream pack, which was a great thing. But this man before found her almost dead, in a place where dogs wouldn’t like to reside. She was no longer a virgin and was just a lowly Omega that had... pretty much nothing to offer.
Would this man accept her, or maybe it’s better she prepares for the second rejection?
“I can see you have a lot on your mind, Carmiltha,” his voice was heard again, bringing her quickly back to reality.
She quickly bowed her head to apologize, “I... I’m sorry, sir,” she said in a small voice.
Maddox sighed as he sat on the bed beside her. Lifting her chin and turning it to face him, he smilingly responded, “Dear, don’t talk like that anymore. You are my mate, not some disregarded punching bag in that stupid pack. I’m sorry I didn’t come early enough. You have suffered so much. Now that I finally have you with me, I tell you, no one will harm you again. I will cherish and protect you, Carmiltha,”
She felt like pinching herself to see if what she was hearing wasn’t some mere fantasy. How could someone choose to love and cherish her, someone who had nothing to give in return?
“Um... This... isn’t a prank, right?” she voiced out her thought, still in a state of incredulity.
A kiss planted on her lips removed her from that state. This gorgeous man kissed her. He wasn’t disgusted with her. She felt for the first time butterflies in her stomach.
A great part of her wanted him to do her right now but her sense of reason still prevailed in the end, though, she couldn’t stop the excitement from showing in her eyes.
“I, Maddox Greyson, Alpha of Blood Crystal pack, hereby accept you, Carmiltha as my mate and Luna. Only death shall do us apart in this life,” he declared.
Camiltha immediately felt a warm, lovable magical feeling course through her veins. It’s something her body yearned to feel for so long.
Happily, she reciprocated, “I, Carmiltha Hemsworth, also accept you as my fated mate and Alpha. Til death do us part,”
After her declaration, Maddox kissed her passionately.
Meanwhile,
Beta’s residence, blood crystal pack.
In her chamber, the eldest of the Beta’s twin daughters, Layla Barker, smashed the vase on the desk before her to bits, her teeth clenched, and her face contorted in fury.
“How come? Just why?” she spat, “I worked hard and did everything possible, just so he could finally choose me as his Luna but some unknown b***h just swoops down and claim my man? No way! I won’t let her be Luna. That filthy slave from another pack is not fit to even carry his shoes. How did she show up and ruin my plans? I will make her pay!” she shatters the desk to bits in rage, her hands balled into fists with her chest rapidly heaving.
