More Questions Pt. 1

        Lexi turned to Haley. I smiled at her, “Ok what are you doing to my apartment today?” Haley smiled, “Setting up fun fairy hijinks traps, but not too many. The goal is for them to be somewhat successful.” She walked into the kitchen and started speaking fealish. She laughed when she was done. The room glowed yellow for a moment. Kincade and Carry walked into the apartment as Haley turned to me. I said, “What’s going to happen to them if they go into the kitchen?” Haley smiled, “They will get honey dropped on their head then flour with fly at them. It will get stuck anywhere the honey is.... Which will be from head to toe.” I laughed, “That’s….so you. Why not feathers?” Haley said, “Why would there be feathers in a kitchen? Flour makes more damn sense.” She skipped into the living room. Kincade and Kevin flew from the area. Haley frowned, “I wouldn’t do anything to you two.” Kincade said, “I appreciate that.” Haley said, “Blade says it’s not fair to mess with the protection details.” Kevin laughed, “That’s true.” Haley smiled, “It’s not as fun though.” Blade spoke, “Is fun. Job hard enough.” Haley frowned, “Hey! I’m a f*****g delight to guard. You are never bored Blade. Admit it!” Serion, Blade’s mate, stepped forward, and I had no idea when he showed up. Serion said, “Oh he’s never bored Princess.” Haley squealed and jumped into Serion’s arms. He laughed and hugged her. I smiled, “Hello Serion.” Serion smiled, “Lexi Scott. It has been too long.” Blade crossed the room. “Is surprise.” Serion laughed and spoke to him in Latin. Haley let him go of Serion and Blade yanked him into a kiss. I said, “So, Serion surprised Blade?” Haley said, “Yes. Apparently, it’s the anniversary of when they first laid eyes on each other. How f*****g cute is that?” I laughed, “It is pretty cute.”

            Haley said, “I’m just waiting for someone to suggest Serion join my protection detail.” I raised my eyebrows, “You think that’s going to happen?” Haley laughed, “Of course it is. Blade is with me all the time now. It’s the most logical thing for them to do so they can be together.” I said, “Why don’t you suggest it?” Haley said, “Are you under the impression people listen to me? They do not.” Serion said, “I listen to you Princess.” Haley smiled, “Which is why I won’t put up too much of a fight about you joining my detail. I will be annoyed when someone suggests it though because it will be because of some stupid shit.” Blade laughed. He and Serion sat down on the couch holding hands. Haley spoke in fealish again. Blade snorted. I glanced at him, “Why did you do that?” Blade said, “Learned Fealish. Princess funny.” I laughed, “He learned Fealish?” Serion said, “Haley speaks Fealish often now. Blade and I learned Fealish together. All her brothers did too.” I laughed, “I’d imagine they learned Fealish long ago.” Serion said, “Oh, they did. They learned how to speak Fealish when Haley was born.” A purple glow emitted around the room. I said, “What did she do in this room?” Serion said, “She watched Wylie Coyote for the first time the other day.” I laughed. Ted said, “Oh goddess have mercy.” Haley said, “If they come in through the window. They will get hit in the face with a wrecking ball.” I said, “Haley… that could kill them.” Haley shrugged, “It’s a small one not the big one.” Serion was trying not to laugh. I said, “What else?” Haley smiled, “If they break in through the front door, they will have mouse traps dropped on them. Both the kind that swing shut, and the kind that have sticky things on them.” I laughed, “Alright.”

            Haley said, “To the bedroom.” Kincade and Kevin were looking around as if something was going to fall on them. Haley rolled her eyes at them, “You two don’t intend to steal anything or hurt Lexi. My fairy hijinks won’t spring you on two. Honestly…. it’s f*****g insulting people still doubt me.” Kincade said, “Oh no Fairy Princess. I have the utmost respect for you. I just don’t want any of that to happen to me.” Haley giggled, “Wait until you hear my plan for the bedroom. We can all just hope the f*****g troll springs this trap.” She put her hands on the door jamb into my bedroom. She spoke in fealish and a green mist started to surround her. Both Blade and Serion laughed. I said, “What did she do?” Serion said, “She’s charmed it so that anyone who opens it gets a punch to the crotch then the face.” Ted said, “Punched how?” Ted said, “By a fake fist with a glove. It would be like being punched by Bjourn. I can tell you from experience…. that hurts.” Haley said, “I also charmed it so any of the spells cast here backfire.” I laughed, “I didn’t know you could do that.” Haley sighed, “We will see if I can, I guess. Now for the time consuming part. Seeing if I can make your things give us a location.” She went into my room and sat on the bed. She closed her eyes. She took a deep breath. She started chanting. I took a step back and went outside to the living room. We all watched her from the couch. It took her over two hours. A burst of light flew through the room and she opened her eyes. She spoke in Latin and Blade answered her. Her eyes widened. I said, “What?” Haley spoke in a shocked voice, “It worked. It f*****g worked. Holy s**t!” I frowned, “How do you know it worked?” Serion added, “And why are you surprised it worked?” It was a good question. Haley said, “Blade said the light he saw was Blue, gold, and orange.” I said, “It was.” Haley said, “That means it worked.” Serion said, “You didn’t answer my question.” Haley said, “I’m surprised because that means…. well...Get ready for someone to suggest you join my protection detail…. very soon.” Blade said, “Is evasive.” Serion said, “Yes, it is.” 

            Kincade and Kevin were frowning. I stepped forward nodding to Ted. He followed me into the bedroom, and I shut the door. “Haley, what’s going on?” Haley sighed, “I don’t want to say it out loud. If I say it out loud it’s real, and then I have….to do something about it then.” Ted frowned, “What would you have to do?” Haley sighed, “Call Aiden.” I frowned, “I thought you talked to him all the time now.” Haley said, “I do. This is a horn that can’t be un-honked once honked.” I said, “It’s a bell that can’t be unwrung.” Ted said, “Or whistle.” Haley said, “UGH! What the f**k ever. Mine still makes sense.” I said, “What would Aiden do that you don’t want?” Haley said, “Tell everyone. Literally…. everyone. Let’s just not talk about it. It goes back into the unknown.” I said, “But you know.” Haley said, “And that’s problematic enough.” I said, “You can’t lie.” Haley said, “But I can keep a secret.” I heard Blade snort out a laugh. I sighed, “Are you ok with that?” Haley said, “Let’s just…. table that. Tomorrow if you want me...call. I’ll come.” I frowned then realized she meant after I read her mother’s letter. I nodded, “I’ll call you after I read it.” Haley said, “I don’t need to know what she says if you don’t want me to.” I said, “I’ll tell you. She was your mother.” Haley said, “Veronica is my mom. Alania gave birth to me and made sure I didn’t die. I don’t think that qualifies her as my mother. She was Aiden and Arion’s mother.” I was stunned. That was the harshest thing I’d ever heard her say about her mother. 

            Ted cleared his throat, “Let’s check out the closet you’ve fairy prepared Haley.” I nodded. I walked in and gaped, “Haley… this is amazing.” She walked in looking sad, “It’s separated by season and color.” I laughed, “I see that. I probably won’t be able to keep this up.” Haley shrugged, “That’s fine.” I said, “Hey, are you ok?” Haley sighed, “Just a little upset.” I said, “Why?” Haley said, “Alania had to know what I just figured out. She didn’t tell me or Aiden.” Ted said, “You’ve used her name twice now.” Haley said, “As I just told you. She’s not really my f*****g mother.” Haley’s phone rang. She looked at it. I saw Veronica was calling. Haley shouted, “TATTLETALES! BOTH OF YOU!” I bit my lip. Serion and Blade had called Veronica about what Haley said about her mother. Haley put her phone on speaker, “I know they told you what I said. I’ll call you back in a little bit.” Veronica said, “Sweetie, are you ok?” Haley said, “Nothing is ok right now. Nothing will be ok for a long time.” Ted and I looked at each other and frowned. I wished I could link him. Veronica said, “You call me back the second you can.” Haley agreed and hung up. The second she did her phone rang again. She hissed, “SERIOUSLY?! YOU TWO GIANT ASS TATTLETALES!” She answered the call, “Eric, I’ll be home soon.” I heard him growl, “What’s wrong?” Haley said, “That’s going to get filed under s**t we aren’t discussing because once discussed you can’t get the toy back into the box.” I said, “Again...not a saying.” Haley said, “Have you EVER seen anyone try to get a child’s toy back into its box once you take it out? Unless I snap it back…. it’s f*****g impossible! That should be a saying.” Eric said, “Angel….” Haley said, “Eric… I can’t.” Eric said, “Can’t...not won’t?” Haley said, “I can’t lie. So can’t and won't? I don’t know. I need to go.” Eric said, “Ok. Pop to me when you are done with Lexi’s apartment.” Haley said, “Aren’t you in a meeting?” Eric said, “I was. Now I’m not besides, Jackson can handle meetings on his own. You are more important.” Haley said, “Nothing is going to happen right now. You can have your damn meeting.” Eric said, “How do you know nothing is going to happen now? The meeting is over Angel.” Haley said, “Because I'm not honking the damn horn!” Eric said, “What?” I said, “It’s an our realm saying thing.” Eric said, “Ah.” Haley said, “I love you Eric. I’ll see you when I get home.” 

            She hung up and a letter appeared in her hand. “OH FOR f***s SAKE!” Haley yelled. Blade opened the door, sword drawn. Haley stared at the letter. I said, “Is that….” Haley said, “A letter from Alania… yes, it is.” Haley ripped it to pieces. Ted’s eyes went wide. The letter repaired itself and flew back to her hands. Haley screamed in frustration and started using her magic. She flung it around my apartment, but it always came back to her. She threw it outside, and rain started pouring. It simply appeared back in her hands perfectly dry. She screamed again and the letter blew up. Haley’s eyes went wide. Now she looked scared. Ted said, “I didn’t know you could do that.” Haley said, “I can’t. That’s Lucinda’s power.” I said, “Apparently it’s your power too.” Serion was frowning. He spoke to her in Latin. Haley didn’t answer him as the letter repaired itself again and floated down to her. The fairy queen voice came through, “You can’t destroy it Haley. You are strong my darling daughter, but I used impenetrable Fae magic. You need to read what I have said.” Haley gritted her teeth. “I am so SICK of the messages from the f*****g BEYOND! Her and Fabian just can’t rest in their f*****g graves! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!” The letter didn’t reply, and her phone rang again. She threw it at the wall. Blade studied her as Serion winced. Carry answered her phone, “Alpha…. I …. Yes...she’s...upset. I don’t know… there’s some letter she can’t destroy...I think it’s from her mother.” Haley said, “She’s not my f*****g mother! She gave birth to me! That doesn’t make her my mother!” A portal opened. Haley groaned and launched herself backwards on the bed.

            King Titus stepped through the portal. Ted and I had met him many times but Kincade, Kevin, and Carry’s draw dropped at the mere sight of him. I went to the bed and took Haley’s hands. I said, “It’s ok Hales.” Titus spoke, “Haley… what is wrong?” Haley flung the letter at him, but it was like a boomerang. It just came right back into her hands. Haley groaned, “Really? I can’t even let someone else hold the damn thing? She’s such a f*****g b***h!” A knock pounded on the door. Haley said, “It’s Eric.” Titus laughed, “You certainly have all of us in the palm of your hand princess.” Haley said, “I didn’t ask any of you to show up.” Titus smiled, “You don’t have to. We love you.” Two more portals opened, and Gunner and Harper stepped through one as Ubbe, Benjamin, and Drake stepped through another. Eric ran into the room and scooped her up. “Angel, I do not like what I’m feeling from you.” Benjamin said, “Seconded.” Drake said, “Thirded.” Ubbe said, “Forthed.” Haley glared at Harper, “Don’t you DARE say fifthed!” Gunner smirked, “Fifthed.” Haley groaned, “You can’t feel my feelings Harper’s boytoy lover.” I smiled, “At least she still has her humor guys.” Gunner said, “That’s true I can’t feel you, but Harper can. We have our back and forths Haley, but I do love you like a sister.” Haley said, “I can’t be snarky when you’re all sentimental and shit.” Gunner laughed. Haley said, “Let’s let Lexi have her apartment back.” I said, “Hey, I’m worried about you too.” Ted said, “Ditto.” Haley said, “I’m annoyed.” Eric said, “You are far beyond annoyed. You are hurt, annoyed, frustrated, and I feel a bit of devastation, reluctance, and a begrudging acceptance.” Titus spoke, “You are certainly getting the hang of the bond Eric. You’re missing two emotions though.” Haley made a face. 

            Gunner looked at Harper whose face was grim. Eric said, “What am I missing?” Titus said, “Haley?” Haley said, “It doesn’t matter.” Benjamin said, “I hate that you believe that.” I frowned. Ubbe said, “You missed disgust and fear, brother-in-law.” Haley said, “Because I’m MOSTLY annoyed!” Titus added, “And hurt.” Another portal opened and Marcus, Bjourn, Histeck, Evin, and Logan stepped through. Haley said, “COME ON! This is not a whole family kind of intervention feelings moment!” Marcus said, “You are not alone anymore.” Haley said, “Obviously. There are not FAR too many people in Lexi’s bedroom.” Ted said, “Well, I think we could fix that by going to the Hackura realm. Mark and Joanie burst into the apartment eyes wide. Why were they even outside? They could’ve stayed in here with us. Haley said, “No, it’s fine.” I said, “See, I’ve been around now for a bit so I know that may mean it’s overall fine, but YOU are not fine.” Haley said, “We can’t talk about it…. we just can’t.” Bjourn frowned, “I thought we were past that.” Haley groaned and pulled a pillow over her face. She sat up, “Ok, we can’t talk about a thing that I know. We can talk about how Alania just gave birth to me and mom is my mom. I don’t want ANYONE to call that b***h my f*****g mother EVER again.” All of Haley’s brothers stepped back eyes wide. Titus said, “I can make that so in our realm princess and do my best for the rest of them.” Haley smiled at him and stood to give him a hug. He winked and me and stepped back through a portal that had been opened. The rest of them laughed and followed along with Eric, Blade and Serion.

            Ted sighed, “That’s a can of worms if I ever saw one.” Carry said, “At least she made it stop raining. The last time she made it rain….it rained for quite some time.” I said, “I didn’t notice rain around here.” Carry laughed, “It was in Alpha Lyons territory.” I snorted, “She is an emotional little thing at times. Can’t blame her though.” Ted sighed, “I worry about her.” I said, “Her mother is a bitch.” Ted said, “Maybe you don’t open your letter tomorrow then.” I said, “It would probably open itself and her voice would start to read it to me. That would be creepy.” Ted sighed, “Yeah...it would. Who would charm a letter to their daughter when they know they will die to use her voice? That’s so messed up. Especially since it’s not something she’d want to hear.” I said, “How did Alpha Conners get her so fast?” Kincade said, “He was meeting with Alpha Chase. Beta Matt said he left kind of abruptly for him. I’m sure he started to feel things from the Princess and didn’t like them. He was probably waiting outside for her to finish her fairy hijinks.” I said, “They are so cute. I love how much he loves her.” Kevin said, “Believe me…. he does love her a lot.” I smiled, “Oh I know. I’ve seen them together. I was quite jealous about it until I met Chase.” Kincade smiled. I noticed Kincade had his hand on Carry’s back rubbing his hand in circles. I don’t even think it was a conscious motion. Kevin noticed where I was looking. He turned his head and his eyes bugged out. He hit Kincade on his other arm and glared at him. Kincade seemed shocked but stopped. I rolled my eyes. The wolves really needed to get a clue. I said, “Well, let’s get back to the office.” Kincade said, “Sure, just let us buy a vowel next time you are going on a solo planning session.” I smiled, “I’m sorry if you got in trouble.” Kevin snorted, “The Alpha would have beat the crap out of us all if you hadn’t calmed him down.” Lexi frowned, “No… he wouldn’t have…. Right Ted?” Ted said, “Uhh… he was royally pissed off when he ordered us out Lex.” Our getaway couldn’t get here fast enough.

            We worked long after the sunset. I’d sent Carry home when five o’clock hit. Susanna texted me. 

Susanna: Your wolf needs you. He’s meeting with Robert and King Arthur now. Then I have some things to say to him myself.

Me: I’m on the way.

Susanna: Then I’ll have to talk fast LOL

I frowned, “Come on Ted. Kincade, Kevin tell Mark and Joanie Ted and I are running to Chase's house.” Kincade and Kevin said, “We will be right behind you.” I nodded. Ted and I took off. Ted said, “Why are we running?” I said, “Susanna is there now. She said Chase needs me.” We ran the rest of the way in silence. I ran through the door in time to hear Chase say he couldn’t lose me. I sighed. I knew this plan would be hard for him to accept, but Noah wasn’t going to get me because of an apartment. I told him he wouldn’t lose me. Everyone looked up at me in a panic. Matt ushered everyone out of the office. I watched them all leave mildly curious what they were all so worried about. Once the door had been shut, I tried to calm Chase down telling him the plan was risky, but all plans have a risk. I had no intention of losing Chase. He was everything to me.  Chase said that wasn’t what he was talking about. I asked him what he meant. He looked up at me, his eyes pleading with me. He was begging me to understand. My heart hurt because he looked so scared and broken. He asked me to promise him something. I crossed the room to him and sat down on his lap. I would promise him anything if he would smile at me. Anything that would take the fear out of his eyes. He wanted me to promise I’d talk to him about his situation. He wanted me to promise not to leave him basically. I was glad he didn’t qualify his ask. I would never just not speak to him again. I didn’t think I could do that to him or myself. I might need to talk to Haley first though. So thank the war goddess he didn’t ask to be the first person I talk things through with.

            I wasn’t an unreasonable person. I know it was my decision not to know his situation. I can’t hold it against him that I don’t know. The situation itself…. since I didn’t know what it was…. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it, but I’d talk to him eventually about it. Chase kissed me and ripped off my shirt. I was instantly ready for him. He wanted to play. He didn’t want me to come until he gave me permission. GOD. I needed someone to tell me why his tone was so hot. It’s like it was directly connected to my ovaries. I had to think of unsexy things to try and not come. I was thinking of old wrinkly men...my hand grazed Chase’s abs and I bit my lip hard in order not to come. I begged him to let me come...I couldn’t hold out any longer. He smirked and finally let me come. I gripped my hands down on him and dug my nails into his skin. I screamed his name. He said something, but my ears were ringing. When Chase told me to turn around, I bent over the desk. I followed all his instructions. He teased me and even brought in a butt plug. I was fine with the plug, but if he wanted to have anal s*x that was going to require a conversation. He made me come with the toys before he finally entered me. I gripped the desk harder. I begged him to f**k me. I had never begged any before, but I need him. I need to feel him. Chase started talking about how much he wanted me. His tone had me dripping wet along with his words. I was coming in no time. Chase pulled us back onto his chair and told me to make him unable to focus. I didn’t even care that this was his office, and he needed to focus in here. I rode him until both of us came again. I fell against him. 

            I was stunned when Chase growled and told someone not to open the door. Damn…. I really needed to pay better attention without my BA gear on. Chase gave me his shirt. His eyes were hardened. I felt a little bit bad for the person who opened the door. Chase told me I should start leaving clothes all over the house. Maybe in the areas Chase frequents I should. He led me to the stairs. I saw it was Alfred that had interrupted us. I wondered if I should stay briefly to help keep Chase calm, but he clearly wanted me upstairs. I ran up the stairs and into Chase’s room. I took a quick shower. I stepped out and grabbed some of Chase’s sweatpants from the closet and put on a tank top. Susie burst into the room with Nadine a few steps behind her. I was stunned to see Susie was crying. I went to my knees as Susie collided into my chest. She cried, “Don’t leave us Lexi please! We need you. Chase needs his princess! We need his princess! I need you! Daddy has lightened up so much since you came here and you’re my friend!” I glanced up at Nadine startled. Nadine’s eyes were tight with worry. I hugged Susie and then pulled back so I could look into her eyes, “Hey, I’m not going anywhere. You’re my friend too, and that means friends for life. You know my big secret. That’s an elite club.” Nadine’s eyes went wide. Susie wiped her tears, “You won’t leave?” I said, “Susie, I’m not leaving. I don’t know why I would.” Susie didn’t say anything. I said, “Let’s go back to your room, ok?” Susie nodded and I led her down the stairs. I heard voices yelling but I couldn't understand what they were saying. I sighed, “Did what Alfred came to say to Chase upset you Susie?” Susie cried harder. Alfred was going to get a talking to from me. I sent Ted a text telling him to get a meeting with Alfred first thing and to not tell Matt. Ted wasn’t happy, but he was going to do it.
