First sight Pt. 2

        Matt laughed, “It would be awkward if I was into you. He’s just got that rough, powerful, strong, hot, tall, body of god, blonde hair going for him.” I laughed, “It’s because I don’t have blonde hair?” Matt smiled, “I can’t really explain it. Alpha Conners really isn’t even my type. He’s just hot. I prefer to be the more masculine partner. I didn’t want to date Alpha Conners though, I just wanted to f**k him.” I laughed, “Oh god. I have to go to his territory on Wednesday night. Now I’m going to want to laugh the whole damn time.” Matt smiled, “Why are you going there?” I sighed, “To check out the fairy lessons his mate hosts. Give it some thought Matt; about finding your mate. I don’t believe the goddess would give you a woman. What if it’s Mr. Right?” Matt was quiet, “I’ll think about it.” I nodded, “Good. If you do find your mate, and it’s not a guy… Explain it to her before you reject her. I’m sure it will hurt you both, but she’d understand. Oh god… If it is a guy Reagan is going to demand to move back in to get to know him. On second thought, Go get your man Matt! We need Reagan back. I miss my brother too.” Matt laughed, “They deserve this opportunity to lead.” I smiled, “They do. I know my brother will be an amazing Alpha. It makes me much less nervous about that border we share. We are now surrounded by strong stable allies. I swear that Hammond fucker was letting rouges slip through into our territory on purpose.” Matt said, “It was worse when you were gone. I think he was testing our strength.” 

            I stood, “I’m sure he was disappointed at how strong we always were then. Are you ok?” Matt nodded, “Yes. I’ve come out to two people who both accepted me. Both are very important to me. I know it’s silly, but keeping my position is non-negotiable to me. I thought I’d have to suck it up and marry some woman to keep being the Beta. I’ve been at war with myself about how much I would hate my life. Being a Beta is in my blood just as much as liking men is.” I said, “I would never want you to do anything like that. Marrying a woman for the sake of your position. Marrying someone you don’t love. That’s not the life I want for you.” I gave him a hug, “I love you man.” Matt said, “Love you too, brother.” I smiled. We were brothers in a way. The way most Beta’s and Alpha’s are. Matt said, “Where were you anyway? Derrick said you left.” I said, “I was looking at party planners in Alpha Conners territory that he would be likely to use. The princess doesn’t like me, so I didn’t think she’d tell me who she used for her fairy event.” Matt laughed, “This is why you need me.” I frowned, “Why?” Matt said, “Did Alpha Conners plan the party?” I said, “No... SON OF A b***h! I need to re-do my list.” Matt said, “You have a list?” I nodded, “I do. I ordered it based on who Alpha Conners was like to use. I need to figure out who the Princess would use.” Matt said, “See? I’m helpful. Go ahead. Admit it.” I smiled, “You are a genius. I would be lost without you.” Matt said, “Your entire countenance just brightened. What’s the big deal? Are you planning someone a party? Is it for Susie?” I smiled, “I am just excited. Any ideas on how to re-work the list based on the princess? All I know is she doesn’t like I’m married to someone who isn’t my mate.” 

            Matt said, “Males are unfortunately out.” I said, “Already had them out.” Matt frowned, “It’s a shame. I would’ve liked to have met some fabulous party planner to date.” I snorted, “You can google them you know.” Matt smirked, “I just might. Anyway I think the Princess would stick to supernatural’s. I doubt it would be a fairy. Anyone on your list work with only supernatural’s? She is trying to find partial fairies. A Human party planner would wonder about her magic speeches. So someone who contracts with other supernatural’s. Can’t have workers wondering about the partial fairy’s talking about training on their powers only to be overheard by humans.” I smirked, “I think My list was in the wrong order. Thank you, Matt.,” We shifted and ran back to the house. I told Bolt, “We need to track down Lexi Scott first. This is what Nick meant in his message from Alpha Conners. I was looking at it the wrong way. I needed to think about who the Princess would use.” Bolt was howling happily that we’d gotten on the right track.

 Derrick was waiting at the door, “We have visitors.” I sighed, “Oh good. Who is it?” Derrick frowned, “Alpha Ezra.” I said, “Alpha Ezra… as in?” Derrick nodded, “Yup.” I walked into my office. “Alpha Ezra. How can I help you?” Alpha Ezra smiled, “I’d like to look around your pack.” I frowned, “Why? We are not allies Alpha Ezra. You’ve come a long way unannounced.” Alpha Ezra said, “My brother had a few pups not from his mate. I wish to track them down. Relocate them to my pack. I owe this to my brother.” I said, “We had no dealings with the Ducants, and I have no single she wolves with pups.” Alpha Ezra frowned, “You are denying me the chance to look around?” I said, “I am telling you, I have no one that matches that bill. All my she wolves with pups are mated. I would’ve known, along with everyone here if one was unfaithful to their mate. Their mates' screams of pain would’ve pierced our territory. Just the same as their screams would’ve been if they were taken forcibly. If your brother had taken a member of my pack forcibly, he wouldn’t have been alive to try to take Alpha Lyons mate or shoot Alpha Conners’. I would not have allowed that to go unchecked.” Alpha Ezra turned red, “My brother would NEVER…” I said, “We are talking about the same man are we not? The Alpha of the Ducants? He was known for taking what he wanted women included. Next time you wish to see me, follow protocol, and give me a call. I could’ve saved you a trip.”

      Alpha Ezra’s face reddened, “I’ll find my brother’s children.” I said, “You will take NO she wolfs or pup by force from this area. If they go with you willingly that is not a problem for me, but if I hear about a missing pup, you're the first person I’m sending the council to.” Alpha Ezra left in a huff. Matt smiled, “I can spread the word.” I said, “Do that. I’ll call those on our borders.” I called Sophia first, “Chase.” Her tone told me she was still pissed about yesterday. She can join the club. “Sophia, Alpha Ezra is in town looking for pups of his brothers. I sent him away, but I’d imagine he will come to you next.” Sophia growled, “He won’t take a single pup from my pack. I’ll speak to my she wolves. If that Ducant piece of s**t attacked one of my members he should be VERY glad he’s dead.” I wasn’t surprised when she hung up. Derrick said, “That right there is why she doesn't need you. She can handle things alone.” I smiled, “That she can.” I called Alpha Conners next, “Alpha Chase. Did you find what you were looking for in my territory?” Derrick shot me a questioning look. I said, “Not yet, seems I was going about it the wrong way. I’ve adjusted my strategy. Anyway. Alpha Ezra is in town. I doubt he will come to you after failing to get money out of you, but he’s looking for pups of his brothers. I sent him away. I’m calling everyone to warn them.” Alpha Conners growled, “That piece of s**t won’t take a single pup from this area. Jackson get Alpha Ezra back on a f*****g plane back where he’s from now.” I smiled when he cut me off.

            I called my brother last, “Chase. Dad is… upset.” I said, “Dad needs to chill and remember who the Alpha is now. I am calling because Alpha Ezra is looking for pups. Now that I think about it, your pack should’ve been where he started. Do you have any single she wolfs moms?” Cameron said, “I just placed three with other packs. They couldn’t stand to be here anymore. They looked haunted.” I stiffened, “Contact their new Alpha’s to be on the lookout for Alpha Ezra. He’s looking for his brother’s children. He does not intend to be nice about taking the pup and mother. IF he takes the mother and not just the pup.” Cameron growled, “I’ll call them right now.” He hung up. Derrick said, “They have a chance now. With us knowing and warning Cameron. Cameron would’ve placed them with good Alpha’s who are strong.” I said, “The Alpha of the Ducants went further out for his contracts than our territory. We need to spread the word.” Matt raised his phone, “Word is being spread.” Derrick said, “Not all Alpha’s are honorable. He could get his hands on some pups and their mothers.” I snorted, “The Ducant Alpha could have a lot of pups out there. We Are keeping our pups and allies safe. Increase the border patrols, and men running.” I linked my dad, “Are you guys back?” My dad said, “Pulling in now. Why?” I said, “Alpha Ezra is here looking for pups of his brothers. I don’t want Susie in his cross hairs.” My dad linked back, “We are inside now.” I linked my warriors, “Who has eyes on Alpha Ezra?” My warriors linked, “He just crossed into Sophia’s territory. He is being stopped.” I linked, “By Sophia?” 

            After several moments, “No. Alpha Conners men just took control of his car. They are heading in the direction of the airport.” I linked my dad, “Alpha Conners men have him getting on a plane. I’d like to be cautious for a few days.” My dad linked back, “That’s a good plan.” I told Matt, “I want warriors around the school and pups discreetly. I don’t want to scare them.” Derrick said, “You think he left someone behind?” I said, “I don’t want to discount the possibility. I won’t lose a pup or mom. Especially since I did not lie. None of our pack could’ve fathered by the Ducant Alpha. I’d protect them with everything I have if they were here though.” We reworked our patrols and shuffled our people around so we could be well guarded. I offered Cameron some men due to the fact that they were still trying to get the right people into the right places. We were spread thin, but we were managing. It makes the week move by quickly. Bolt and I were both anxious because it was finally time to go to the fairy practice. I wanted to skip it. I wanted to stake out the hotel where Lexi Scott worked, but Bolt wanted to go to fairy practice. The obnoxious mutt sang it’s a small world on repeat until I agreed. He was quite proud of himself. I had one of our warriors staking out the hotel, but without Lexi's picture he wasn’t coming up with anything. Kincade, my warrior was frustrated. I tried to tell him it wasn’t his fault, but I wanted him to stay near the hotel. He’d taken some surveillance photos, but no one jumped out at me yet. It’s not like I could stake him out there all day at this point.

       I left and drove to Alpha Conners home. When I arrived Alpha Eric Conners greeted me himself. Alpha Conners said, “The partial fairies are all beginning to gather on the back lawn. I’m going to go ahead and tell you my wife will be pissed off about this. She… usually has colorful things to say about such things. Her take on things tends to be things we didn’t think of. She is quite adept at out of the box thinking.” I took a deep breath, “Are they all here? I don’t smell my mate near.” Alpha Conners replied, “No, they are not all here yet. They pop in closer to the time practice starts.” I nodded and ended up standing behind Darrin and Jackson. Something told me it was intentional. They were obstructing me from anyone’s clear view, specifically the Princess. I didn’t mind. I’d smell my mate if she was here. I could just keep an eye on her from here out if she was here.  Bolt pleaded, “I want to meet mate.” I growled, “We agreed. We’d look for her and keep her safe. We are still figuring out how to get Sophia’s head out of her ass.” Bolt grumbled, “I could get her head out of her ass.” I snorted. He could. Alpha Conners shot me a look. I linked him, “Bolt isn’t happy with the plan. We agreed we would find our mate and watch her for now. Until everything is settled. He wants to meet her though.” Alpha Conners smirked, “You let me know how that goes Alpha Chase. I couldn’t have stayed away from Haley if someone paid me. I needed to know her, be near her, and I needed her to know me as well. The need to mate with her… was something I’d never felt before” I frowned. He would know. He’d had a lot of s*x. I had to look away when I remembered my Beta was one of those people he’d f****d. I was trying not to laugh. Alpha Conners and Matt just didn’t match, but then again it wasn’t a relationship.

         Lucas and Beta Dylan drew my thoughts away from Alpha Conners and Matt by popping in with Alpha Lyons mate. She quickly ran off not noticing me. Beta Dylan tried to insinuate I was hiding. I was not hiding. They were hiding me. There was a difference. I noticed the second the Princess realized I was here. I was surprised when Alpha Conners mentioned Idel not being here. I just didn’t think my mate was a water fairy duchess. I didn’t know all about fairies, but I knew the Royal houses. I didn’t need to know the Princess well to know she wasn’t happy about my presence. Beta Dylan pointed out the fairy princess did something to Alpha Lyons Luna. I linked Matt, “I think Beta Dylan Frost has a death wish.” Matt linked back, “Why?” I replied, “He got Alpha Conners a doghouse that has a name plaque reading Alpha Prick.” Matt was howling with laughter. He must have been on our border because we could all hear him in the weird howling laughter mix, he was doing. Before anyone could comment on that the Princess came over. She was upset with her husband. I couldn’t have that. I explained to her what happened that had led to this moment. Alpha Conners was not to blame. Alpha Lyons mate gasped. Bolt sat at attention, “She knows! Chase, she knows!” I pleaded with her to tell me, but the Princess cut me off saying I’d be causing her cousin pain. What? I looked around but no one seemed to know what she was saying. My heart sank when she explained because of my situation my mate could be unhappy which would affect Duchess Emmaline. I looked at my feet. She told me to fix my personal Life. Alpha Conners linked me, “I did tell you she has a way with words. I think.” I linked back, “I noticed. I just don’t know what to do.” 

        Bolt nor I were going to take the disrespect from Hexxi. I would let the Princess talk how she wanted. For respect of her being the Luna of the Black mountain pack, and the Hackura princess. Hexxi, though that was another story. She may be water fairy duchess, but fairy’s treat their mates like s**t. She’s insulted I’m married? f**k her. I wouldn’t take my mate forcibly or have a lover once I’d met my mate. I may have a wife because she won’t f*****g giving me an annulment, but I would NEVER be with another like fairy’s are. She said they have lovers, but they don’t marry them. I was positive I could find a fairy that married someone who wasn’t their mate. I tried to explain. I had no intention of hurting Luna Emmaline. For god’s sake i just wanted some f*****g peace. I wanted my mate, and I wanted my stinking wolf to let me live my life. With her. I f*****g wanted my mate. I was so exasperated. I wanted the Princess to tell me what else I could do. From her explanation she clearly didn't know I was trying to get an annulment. Alpha Conners linked me, “I’ll fill her in on the details later Alpha Chase.” I sighed, “Just Chase. I didn’t think of the fact that Sophia’s mate will likely challenge me. f**k that’s a good point.” Alpha Conners said, “My wife is good at thinking of things like that.” I snorted, “I know she chipped you with a GPS tracker. I don't want Sophia or her mate to get hurt. Or mine. Mostly mine. I don’t want this to hurt her. I was just trying to let Sophia have what was rightfully hers. If it would spare my mate pain, I’d let Sophia’s mate kick my ass.” Alpha Conners replied, “I know.”

       I couldn’t stop myself from asking if it was a human party planner was working at her party. I didn’t know if Lexi Scott was a supernatural or just worked other supernatural’s. It had to be her or one of her workers. Matt had said it had to be a supernatural, but someone who knew of the supernatural would be allowed. The Princess asked me if I loved Sophia. Why do people keep asking me that? Bolt snorted, “Because she’s your wife. Idiot.” I rolled my eyes and told the Princess I just wanted to help Sophia. She told me to make Sophia realize she didn’t need me. “I think I need your wife to meet Sophia. And What is a negative Noah?” I asked Alpha Conners. Alpha Conners replied, “You should tell Sophia for her sake, she should let you go. Or I do fear she will meet my wife in an unpleasant way. Haley doesn’t understand our realms sayings. She knows we like alliterations, so she tends to mess up sayings that way. She thinks negative Noah is the saying here.” If I wasn’t so frustrated, I’d have laughed. Alpha Lyons mate dressed him down in front of us all until the Princess popped back for her. Once they’d gotten back to their lesson Alpha Conners linked me, “I assume you will not spread that they fought around.” I snorted, “I haven’t even told anyone I’m looking for my mate. I’m not about to tell anyone about my allied Alpha and his Luna’s fight. Especially when it’s my fault.” I spoke out loud. “This was for nothing. My mates not even here.” I observed the two Hackura men stare at each other. Bolt said, “They know.” I replied, “At minimum they have an idea. We don’t need the Hackura on our case.”

       Jackson clapped me on the back and led me inside to eat some food. We walked in silence until I broke it. “I didn’t want to cause problems with their mates.” Jackson shrugged, “Emmaline is young, as is Haley. Neither are capable of staying mad too long. Well, at Lucas or Eric anyway. They will be ok. Eric and Lucas haven’t learned the art of communication yet. It Takes time, and they are newbies.” I snorted, “At least that’s something. I want an annulment. I just don’t know how to make Sophia accept it. Do you think the Princess is pissed off enough to pay her visit?” A pop sounded before he could answer, and the princess and the rest of the girls stood before us. She wanted to take Jackson to Faerie. She had to take the burden she would be in pain. f**k! I didn’t want to hurt her. The list of people going to kill me was growing. We had Alpha Conners, the Princess, the Duchess, Sophia probably would kill me at this point except she can’t, any Hackura because of the Princess, and my wolf. The Princess told me my mate deserved the best. Before I could say anything, she was gone. She knew. She is friends with my mate. Happiness filled me even though that could not be good for me. My mate was out there, and she’s friends with someone powerful. That was good. The Princess could keep her safe. I stared astonished as the clouds rolled in and rain began to pour around the area. It seems the princess was unhappier than I’d thought.

        The guys ran inside. I apologized to them all. It wasn’t enough though; I’d messed up their relationships. I had no idea this could hurt their mate. I just wanted to find mine and make sure she was safe. Alpha Conners looked raging pissed but admitted they didn’t know that it would hurt their mates either. This was a whole new Alpha Conners than I was used to. The princess was really good for him. It made me want mine even more. I told him the Princess knew who my mate was. Lacy Lyons confirmed they both knew the duchess and the Princess. Eric started to growl. I wanted to flinch, but surprisingly his anger was directed at a fairy trying to f**k his wife. I linked Matt, “We need to become better friends with the Conners. It’s only a slight problem because their Princess Luna is NOT a fan of mine, but this s**t is gold.” Matt linked, “Next time you go there you have to bring me. I don’t understand what’s going on. Our side of the border is literally sunshine but if I stuck my foot over our border with them; ’d be drenched.” I said, “The Fairy princess is unhappy, so she made it rain.” Matt said, “I’m with Reagan. I want to be her best friend. That’s fabulous. She’s pissed so it’s raining.” I came back to attention when they said the princess didn’t understand people flirting with her. Dylan smirked at me and whispered, “Oh I know that look. Haley really doesn’t understand. She thinks Alpha Prick over there is the only one who wants her.” I looked at Alpha Conners, but if he’d heard Dylan, he gave no indication. I whispered, “Do you want him to kill you?” Dylan snorted, “Oh I’m safe. He’s former sheet buddies with my Alpha. You should watch it, you’re not protected.” I laughed, “You have no idea.” Dylan’s eyes sparkled, “OHHHH Tell me! Tell me, Tell me! I LOVE finding out things I don’t know.” I smiled. I’d never out Matt. Molly came in the kitchen and I winced. I linked Matt, “Your sister is mad now. Your brother-in-law is in Faerie though.” Matt said, “You are literally never going anywhere without me again. I’m so confused about what is happening.” 

       I told Molly I wouldn’t’ have asked if I’d known it would’ve hurt Princess Haley. Molly told me she knew that. I was worried the Princess would keep my mate from me. They all disagreed. Alpha Conners linked me, “Tell them what’s going on.” I sighed and purged the situation at the group. Then I remembered the anniversary party Sophia and I always have. I could not do that s**t this year. I needed to tell Matt to make sure Sophia didn’t try. I wouldn’t show up if she did. The Conners men came up with a plan. They were going to submit a proposal that she wolves could be Lead Warriors, Alpha’s, and Beta’s if they were first born just like males. That got me thinking about Matt. We really needed to evolve as a group. He was so sure I’d strip his title that he was going to be miserable being with a woman to keep it. Sophia was a great Alpha. She was scared that without me her title would be stripped. This had to end, we couldn’t stay this way. We weren’t helping ourselves. They’d have my support, and I let them know. I’d sign their proposal the second it was drafted. I nodded to everyone and left. I was almost to my car when Dylan said, “Ohhhh Alllppphhhhaaaa Chhhhasssseeee.” I sighed, “Yes, Beta Dylan.” Beta Dylan smiled, “You know when people say that sometimes I think I should’ve gone with Beta Frost. It sounds like a superhero. I would fit in with my new obsessions so well.” I said, “Your obsessions?” Dylan said, “The Partial Fairies. I’m never going back to PPFD.” I sighed, “PPFD?” Dylan said, “So glad you asked Alpha Chase. Pre-partial Fairy Days.” I said, “Why did you come out here?” Dylan said, “Jeez. touchy. I’m here for my man Beta Matt. Beta’s talk you know. We Beta’s are you Alpha’s glue. Without us you are but lost ships at sea. Find the event planner, Alpha Chase.”
