Right Direction Pt. 2

     Isaac stood and pulled Matt into a hug, “Just because I had a different idea about your path in life does not mean I am disappointed. You couldn’t disappoint me being who you are son. If you’d forced a connection with a woman you didn’t love...that would disappoint me. Following your heart and being true to yourself…. That’s what your mother and I raised you all to do. I’m not disappointed Matt. I’m not really even surprised. I suspected. Your mother outright said she knew. I’ve known about this list she’s had since you were fifteen years old.” Matt wiped his eyes. He stepped back, “For the past several months I’ve known my mate was nearby. I was resistant to find my mate because… I can’t accept a she wolf. I just can’t.” Isabella frowned, “Well, you can have a chosen mate Mattie.” Matt said, “Turns out… My fated mate is a man.” Everyone gaped, “Really?” Isaac said smiling. Matt nodded. He took off his shirt. His mom looked at his neck, “Ohh… his name is Ted? Is he human? What is he? Where is he? YOUNG MAN! Tell me you did not just leave him somewhere while you had this talk with us. I DEMAND you bring him here. NOW!” 

            Matt said, “He’s here. He’s spending time with Susie. He’s not human. I actually don’t know what he is. Their rules of telling their mates is complicated. Plus, there’s a leak that he’s worried about. He’s a worrier my Ted. He’s not telling them he found me because he doesn’t want the leak to come after me.” Isaac frowned, “We should convince him to tell them. Then they’d come for us, and we could end this leak. No one hurts my kids.” Isabella smiled, “Ted is one of ours now Mattie. Just as Jackson is, and one day Jenna’s mate. Plus I want to meet my in-laws. First though, I want to meet this young man.” Matt said, “I’ll go get him. I can’t believe this went so well.” Isaac said, “We are a family first son. No matter what happens with you kids, you are our children. We love you.” Matt wiped his eyes. “Thanks dad.” Matt walked out to get Ted. Isabella patted Isaac’s hand. “There are days I don’t know what I did to deserve you as a mate, Isaac Miller. Today was one of those days. I know this hard for you, but you still love our Mattie.” Isaac said, “It’s a hard road our boy is on. I just wanted him to have an easy life. This will not be widely accepted. I don’t want that for him, but I want him to be happy. If this Ted is his happiness… then I am on this path beside him.  Besides, who can argue with the moon Goddess?” I smiled at them as Matt came in holding hands with a visibly nervous Ted.

       Isabella jumped up, “OHHH isn’t he cute! And LOOK at him. So well put together. You and me Ted… We have to get my Mattie in better clothes.” Ted smiled and put his arms Matt, “Oh, I’m already planning to put his outfits together. We could go shopping ma’am. His wardrobe needs help.” Isabella clapped, “Oh none of that ma’am business. You call me mom. And YES! Shopping!” Matt groaned, “You guys…” Ted said, “Shhh… the ladies are talking.” Isaac snorted, “Son, it’s best to just them talk, and when they come back with new clothes…. Just wear them. You WILL lose the battle.” Isabella smiled, “He’s not wrong. Do you think your dad always dressed like that? He actually dressed a lot like you do.” Matt frowned, “There’s nothing wrong with my clothes.” Ted smiled and kissed his cheek, “Of course there’s not. I just want you in clothes that show off your assets better. You’re wearing the wrong styles.” Matt rolled his eyes, “Ok then.” Molly stood and hugged Ted, “I’m so happy to see Matt so happy. Welcome to the family.” Jenna stood and exchanged the same sentiments. Isaac stuck out his hand, “Welcome to the Miller family, son.” Ted’s eyes welled up, “Thank you. I promise you all I made sure Matt wouldn’t lose his position when he told me he was the Beta. I would never want that.” Isaac smiled, “I appreciate that Ted.” Isabella said, “Now, about those lists. I think we should go ahead and line up two girls. One for Ted and one for you Mattie.” 

            Ted said, “Uhh, what list?” Matt said, “MOM! We aren’t ready for kids yet. When we decide we are, we will go through your surrogate lists.” Ted laughed, “You have a list for me?” Isabella nodded, “Yes, since we have time…” she glared at Matt, “We can tailor the list to you.” Ted said, “No need. I have someone lined up for myself.” Matt said, “You do?” Ted nodded, “Heck yes I do. Ever since the fairy princess came into my life and I discovered fairy children conjure their own bottles. Haley gave me the name of a fairy who likes women. She had her eggs harvested for me. They are currently in some sort of fairy charm. I would need a surrogate since my chosen fairy doesn’t want to be pregnant.  She only wants to teach the children about their powers if they have any. She wants to be more of a fun aunt than a mom.” Isabella smiled, “That’s perfect! Maybe I can find a she wolf like that for Mattie! I’ll have to re-do my list order.” Matt said, “What’s the fairy’s name?” Ted smiled, “Drisenella. Fairy’s man. Weird ass names, but for women’s standard she’s cute. So we will have a cute baby.” Isabella laughed, “Oh… I like you. When are we announcing our Ted to the pack?” Matt looked at me. I shrugged, “We can do it tonight.” Matt smiled and pulled Ted back to him, “Tonight it is then.” Ted shrieked, “TONIGHT? I have to go change.” He took off running. Isaac gaped, “He’s…. very fast son.” Ted laughed, “He is. I’m going to go make sure he doesn’t worry himself to death about this. Thank you, guys…. For accepting me and standing by me.” Isaac said, “There’s nowhere else we would stand, son. I’m glad this is out there in the open now.” Each of them hugged Matt and then they all left my office.

            I sighed and did some paperwork before Bolt had enough. “I want to see mate again.” I sighed, “So do I. f**k we are not going to be productive without her here. Maybe she would set up an office in view of her fairy barrier house deal.” I went outside and shifted. I ran to the tree line that was far enough from Lexi’s place she couldn’t smell me but close enough to see.” Ted skidded to a stop beside me, “Hello Alpha Chase. Gosh you and Matt have that link thing down. He thinks I’m being crazy, but I’m NOT! I NEED the perfect outfit. Hopefully Lex can work some magic. Or call a fairy that can.” He took off and paced outside Lexi’s house. He called her but she clearly wasn’t there. Matt linked me, “What are you doing here?” I said, “You know what I’m doing here.” Matt said, “You needed to see her.” I nodded. I linked Kincade, “Where are you guys?” Kincade said, “She is almost home. We are behind her.” Lexi ran into view with food in her hands. Lexi grabbed Ted and pulled him through the barrier. We heard Ted tell Lexi where Matt was. Bolt was preening that she thought we were beautiful. We heard a door shut then nothing.” Matt began to pace, “I don’t like this. I can’t get to him.” I said, “Welcome to my world Matt.” Matt said, “That went really well with my family today. I was mostly worried about my dad.” I said, “It went great. They love you.” Matt snorted, “I know. I’m lucky. I know that conversation doesn’t go as well for others. This whole thing could’ve gone so badly. I could’ve been banished, and my family could’ve disowned me. Instead my dad was ready to leave the pack. My dad.” I smiled, “I told you. Our pack will be fine with this too.”

            Matt stared at me, “You know someone will say something unkind about it.” I said, “Then it will be handled.” Derrick linked me, “Ummm the fairy princess and Alpha Conners are here. The pack is buzzing about this announcement. What is the announcement? Why do I NEVER know anything?” I cursed linking Matt, “s**t. I need to get back and explain the situation to Derrick. Seems your dad must have spread the word about the announcement for your Beta Male.” Matt snorted, “Ted and I will be there soon. Once Lexi resolves the wardrobe crisis of the century.” I nodded and took off running for the house. I shifted grabbing shorts. I ran up to my room and grabbed some nicer clothes. I ran back downstairs where Haley and Alpha Conners were. She smiled, “Alpha Chase. Molly called me about Matt. I didn’t get all the details, but Eric told me another pack would’ve made Matt step down. I cannot f*****g believe that. I wanted to ask if we could be here for your announcement too.” Alpha Conners smiled, “My Angel would like to show that we support you and Matt in this announcement. She wants people to know we stand with you, Alpha Chase.” I smiled, “That’s very kind of you both. Of course you can join us.” Haley smiled, “I’d have kicked your ass if Matt had to step down to be who he was. I am NOT here for that shit.” I smiled, “Neither am I. Matt’s mom already has a list of co-parent she wolf options for insemination when they are ready. She has a list and everything.” Alpha Conners howled with laughter. Haley smiled, “I like her already.” I said, “I need a moment with my gamma. He’s been waiting outside to speak to me.” Haley smiled, “We will be outside.” Haley popped her and Alpha Conners out of my office. I muttered, “The door was literally two steps away. Would it kill her to use a door?” 

            I opened my door, and Derrick came in. “What is going on? And don’t say nothing. Matt’s disappearing all the time. He was moping around for months. Now he’s happy and he’s NEVER here at night.” I said, “One second.” I linked Matt, “Are you going to make it back to tell Derrick? Or do you want me to tell him?” Matt said, “Walking in the door now. Never tell Ted this, but he does look really good in this outfit.” I snorted. “Derrick, Matt is coming in to explain.” Derrick sat down, “Next time I’d like to buy a vowel or something.” Matt came in. Derrick jumped up, “HOLY s**t! You’re marked this is about your mate? Is… Ted? That’s a guy’s name.” Matt nodded, “I’m gay. I’d been resisting finding my mate when I knew my mate was near because of my wolf. I went to sit at our border and saw him about to be attacked. That’s when I found out my mate was a man and not some woman I was going to have to reject. I came out to Chase a few weeks ago, and my family today. We are announcing Ted as my mate tonight.” Derrick said, “Huh… makes sense actually. You always wanted to be Chase and I’s wingman, and never wanted the favor returned. Congratulations man.” Matt said, “Thanks.” Derrick said, “Well… where’s the man of the hour?” Matt opened the door. Susie yelled, “CHASE! Matt keeps taking my new friend away!” I laughed, “He’s moving here Susie, so you’ll see him a lot.” Susie squealed, “My new friend is going to live here AND I start school Monday? THIS IS THE BEST DAY!” I heard Nadine tell Susie they were going to play upstairs. I sighed. My dad wasn’t going to let her come to the meeting. Typical.

       Ted came in, and I had to smile. He did look sharp. My mate had a good eye. Derrick smiled, “Hello Beta Male Ted. I’m the Gamma around here who doesn't get to be in the know ever. I’m Derrick.” Ted laughed and shook his head, “Don’t you worry Gamma Derrick. TeleTed is here now. I got you.” Derrick laughed, “TeleTed?” Ted smiled, “It’s my nickname of sorts.” Derrick laughed, “Well Damn. Finally! I’ve got an in. Now when I have questions, I’m going to TeleTed first.” Mat and I laughed. Ted smiled, “I do have my uses.” Matt pulled him into him, “Yes, you do.” He kissed him. Derrick smirked and linked me, “I’ve never seen Matt this happy. It’s a damn good thing to see.” I smiled, “Yes, it is.” Derrick said, “I hope I meet my mate soon.” I smiled, “I’m sure you will.” Derrick said, “I noticed… you didn’t say ‘me too.’ You’ve been acting just as weird as Matt. Did you meet your mate Chase?” I sighed, “Technically, no. I know who she is though. I’m having her guarding.” Derrick looked at the ceiling, “That’s where Kevin and Kincade have been disappearing to? To guard their future Luna.” I nodded. Derrick said, “This is why I need TeleTed. He’s moving here right?” I nodded, “Yes.” My dad came to meet Ted. He clapped me on the back, “I’m so damn proud of you Chase. You too Matt. This… is amazing.” Isaac came in, “You boys need to get on stage.  Frank and I will stay with Ted.” Ted gave Matt a hug. Matt said, “They will love you, just like I do.” Ted took a deep breath and nodded. Worry colored his features. I said, “Ted, after you formally join the pack tonight. I’ll be able to link you, but you are accepted and welcome here. Anyone who feels different has no place in this pack.”

            Ted was still nervous when we left. Derrick and I had to drag Matt out to the platform. Derrick linked me, “Damn… he really wants to go back to TeleTed. My new best buddy who’s going to tell me all the secrets.” I rolled my eyes, “We were going to tell you.” Derrick said, “Sure, but now I can wait for you to tell me whilst knowing what’s going on. Did Kincade tell you I made him run extra laps for disappearing?” I winced, “No.” Derrick said, “See? Now I’m an ass because I didn’t know you had him doing something. TeleTed could’ve prevented this by telling me the situation.” I linked Matt, “He’s coming out here in a minute. Calm down.” Something pricked at the back of my neck. I was confused, “Bolt?” Bolt said, “I don’t know. Mate feels closer than her house.” I said, “I don’t smell her.” Bolt said, “I don’t know what to tell you.” Matt linked me, “Ted is so nervous. He just wants to be accepted. He’s worried about my position.” I linked, “Your position was never in question. Tell the worry wart I’ve got this. I’m beginning to think he has the wrong nickname. Ted the worrier seems more apt.” I spoke, “Many of you are curious as to why this meeting was called. I know you’ve noticed we have Alpha Eric Conners, his Princess Luna, and Alpha Jackson Conners along with Luna Molly here with us today. This is a historic moment for werewolves and our pack as well.” Whispers started. Haley smiled at me. I continued, “Our Beta has met his mate.” Everyone cheered. I held up my hands to quiet them down, “This is his moon goddess destined mate. They have my blessing, and Matt had it before he even met his mate. We are about acceptance here. Now… without further ado. I would like you all to meet your Beta’s Mate.” Everyone was bouncing with excitement. I linked my dad, “Bring Ted around.” 

       The pack couldn’t see Ted yet, but Derrick Matt and I watched as his eyes searched trees. “The hell?” I linked Matt. Matt said, “I have no clue.” He zeroed in on a tree and smirked. I followed his line of sight. I smiled. Lexi was in that tree. It was a good vantage point. She must have wanted to be here for her friend. Anger consumed me. She should be my side. She should be here to support her friend and me in this moment. f**k Sophia’s Gamma to the pits of hell. I linked Matt, “What are the odds we can break into Sophia’s dungeon and kill her Gamma?” Matt didn’t answer because his eyes were locked on Ted. He beamed at him. Matt reached out his hand and took Ted’s hand. Several gasps echoed as Ted and Matt stared into each other's eyes. I said, “This is your new Beta Male Ted.” Ted looked out at the crowd. Haley was startled for a brief second before Ted blew her kiss. She laughed and blew him one back. Alpha Conners linked me, “She knows him. I’ve actually met him too. He works with the party planner that did Haley’s event.” I linked, “He does work in that business.” Alpha Conners snorted, “I don’t even want to know.” I said, “You don’t.” I spoke to my pack, “I know this is not common… hell, it’s not done. That’s wrong though. Beta Matt is our Beta. He loves who he loves. The moon goddess put him and Ted together, and I do not argue with the moon goddess.” A woman said, “Where do I sign up to mother their pup? I want a future Beta child!” Ted laughed and Matt snorted. Several other she wolves agreed with her sentiments. They wanted to be considered to mother the future Beta.  I said, “That will be decided upon between our Beta and Beta male when they are ready to have a pup.”

        Two men stood, “This is not right! We cannot support this! He’s marked this man!  He needs to step down as our Beta. We will NEVER accept a Beta Male in this pack! It’s not done! I demand Beta Matt step down, and Beta Isaac resume his place as Beta. We will gather support among the packs! This cannot happen!” Before I could say anything, Haley jumped out of her seat. She popped to the two men. She flung one into Eric and proceeded to kick the crap out of the man who’d spoken first. I decided to let her. She yelled at them, “You f*****g backwards ass moron! You don’t make demands here you stupid messed up troglodyte! ERIC! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS REALM? Not even Full blooded FARIES would say something that stupid! I hold them in very low esteem in general. Even they accept who people love. My brother would still be King if he liked men. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!” I growled shaking the leaves on the trees. The pack turned to me in shock. I don’t often get firm with them like this. “Eugene and Perry, you are BANISHED from this pack.” I jumped off the stage and walked towards them. “I will NOT give you a recommendation, and I’ll tell all our allies not to let you in. Get running because if you are caught, I will not offer you any help no matter whose territory you end up in.” Alpha Conners nodded to me. He grabbed Haley and they sat back down. Haley popped to Ted and hugged him, “They are stupid shits Ted. They are lucky to have you here.” She popped back to Eric. I growled, “You all have two choices. You accept our Beta and our Beta Male, or you will GET THE f**k OUT! I will NOT tolerate petty backwards minds here. I am already dealing with that s**t enough. I WILL NOT DEAL with disrespect toward my Beta or his mate. Ted is now ours. You treat him with respect, or you will deal with me! ARE WE CLEAR?” I looked around. Everyone was frozen.

        I used my Alpha tone, “I SAID ARE WE CLEAR?” Everyone said, “Yes, Alpha.” One little boy asked, “Alpha, how are you already dealing with it?” Matt linked me, “You walked right into that one.” I sighed, “You all know I married Alpha Sophia.” Everyone nodded. I said, “I only did that so she could claim her birthright as the Alpha of her pack. They were going to oppose her taking over without me. That was already supposed to be dealt with; however, people like the two who were just banished cause me to still have to deal with it.” The kid asked, “But what about our Luna? That’s not fair!” I smiled, “Right there with you kid. I will handle it, and you will have your Luna one day. Alright?” The kid frowned but nodded. He turned and whispered to his mom, “But that’s not fair! We need our Luna.” Derrick linked, “You just have to love kids. He’s not wrong though.” I said, “I know.” I inducted Ted into our pack. I linked him, “Don’t let them get you down.” Ted was startled but thought back, “I don’t want them to hurt him.” I smiled, “Matt is the second strongest wolf in this pack, and we are not weak.” Ted said, “I know. I saw him rip a guy to shreds and pull out another's heart.” Haley popped on stage, “TED! I cannot believe you didn’t tell me about this! I about fell out of my f*****g chair when you came on stage.” Ted smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes, “Let it be known by all. TeleTed…. Can keep a secret.” Haley laughed, “You keep secrets, and you’ll get a new nickname. And TeleTed is f*****g brilliant.” Ted snorted, “You say that because you came up with it.” I glanced at Alpha Conners in surprise. Haley flipped her hair, “And it’s brilliant. You look amazing by the way. Something is really f*****g familiar about this outfit. Do we share a fashion brain Ted?” Ted smiled, “No, I took this from your stockpile in Lexi’s house. You worked your fairy magic. That closet is fabulous.” Haley smiled and kissed his cheek. Alpha Conners growled lowly. I bit my lip

         Haley rolled her eyes, “Come on. Let’s get Molly and Jackson. I have another stop to make.” Several pack members came up to meet Ted. Isaac linked me, “That shook him.” Isaac was glancing at Ted. I said, “I know it did.” Isaac said, “I’m worried.” I sighed. So was I. I wanted happy go lucky Ted back. Happy Ted was briefly with us before Haley popped out. If I had my own damn mate here, he’d be fine. I felt like a failure as a leader. With my Luna at his side our Beta male would be flying high. This was supposed to be Matt and Ted’s night. The pack dispersed and we all walked back to the front when Ted took off like a shot. Isaac cursed, “f**k! Go after him, son.” Matt had already shredded his clothes chasing Ted. I followed suit. I knew where he was going. I saw Ted flying towards Lexi’s barrier. Matt shifted and yelled, “TED PLEASE WAIT!” Ted ran through. Matt shifted back and began to pace. I heard Lexi answer her door. I hear Ted sob before the door shut. I linked Matt, “Come over here. I’m not far.” I’d come closer than I had lately because this was about my Beta. Matt came over to me and we shifted. Matt was crying, “He’s going to leave me. I’ve lost him Chase.” I said, “No, you have not. Lexi will calm him down. I’m so damn sorry Matt. This wouldn’t be happening if I could have Lexi by my side.” Matt ran his hands through his hair, “What do I do? I can’t lose him, Chase. He’s my whole world, my reason for being.” I said, “We will figure this out. He’s not leaving you Matt. He’s worried about you. Lexi will calm him down. He still joined our pack tonight, and he waited to bolt until no one could see him. He held it together. He will be a great Beta Male.” Matt said, “I’m going back to pace outside that damn barrier.” He shifted and left. Both our heads shot up when we heard the front door open.
