A confession with fatal consequences

Two months into this school year and nothing special happened I was thinking the year could pass without great troubles. I was so wrong. I woke up from a strange dream. Two wolves sitting at a lake but the opposite of the lake looking at each other. The bigger one was in a shining silver-colored fur and the other was in a deep black. There was so much desperation in their eyes, they were longing for each other but couldn’t reach the other. It seems like there was an invisible wall hindering them to pass the lake. In the next second both of them looked in my direction. I woke up instantly startled by their accusing look like I was the invisible wall that hinder them. It was 5 o’clock and I lay another 30min in the bed before I stood up. My mood was terrible. I felt restless. What does this dream mean? I throw water on my face to clear my mind. After I put on my sweater I went to Evelyn. Evan opens the door with a wide grin.

“ oh look who is there! How comes you are that early”

“ please Evan doesn’t get on my nerves I had a bad night “

“ really should I come over and cuddle with you”

“ shut up where is your sister?”

“ hahaha where would you find her at that time”

I walked past him and run upstairs to wake my always late friend. I opened her door with a loud bang and jumped on the bed beside her. She opens her eyes with a frightened look and was ready to jump at me.

“ dear god, what have I don’t wrong? Can you please take this lunatic with you!”

She throws another pillow at me and covered her head with the blanket.

“ so dear friend of mine could you get ready on time today?”

“Get lost!”

While I looked at her my mood start to lift. I am happy to have her as my best friend although she is always late. So I started to get on her nerves. After 15 min she moves in the direction of the bathroom.

“ so monster why are you up so early?”

Her voice comes from the bathroom

“ I wasn’t sleeping well”

I didn’t tell her about the dream. She would just make some funny comments.

“ so you came over so I can’t sleep as well?”

“ no, I came over so that we can be on time “

Evan shouts from the ground floor

“Hey girls I am leaving do you guys want to go with me”

“ Evelyn is still not ready, you can leave first” I answer him.

“ how comes your brother is always on time and you are always late?”

“ If I am the defense of our football team I would also be on time, coach Regan would kill anybody who is late”

I was lying in her bed for almost 30min and she was still not ready.

“Eve please are you finished “

“ Okey okay I am ready”

“ what are you wearing? The skirt is barely covering your butt!”

“ don’t talk nonsense, look there is still so much length to my butt”

“Why are you wearing that today that doesn’t seem like you?”

“ hmm. I was planning to confess my feeling to mike, do you think he will reject me”

“If he does he is an i***t how could someone not like a girl like you”

I hugged her tightly, Evelyn had a crush on Mike since the first year of high school during these years her crush didn’t change a bit. It was the last year so she collected all her courage to confess today. Evelyn gave her a thankful smile and both left the house. Maddison felt strange today the feeling wouldn’t leave. They reached school on time there was still some time left when they reach the parking space. A bunch of guys was hanging around. Maddison recognizes Leo on his motorcycle. He is a dropout he had connections with the wrong guys in Seattle. After a drunk fight at school, they suspended him. When they passed them Evelyn was attracting the attention of the guys. They started to shout some unpleasant comments. When one of the guys used the b… word towards her something snapped. I went to the guy and slapped him. It started a tumult, another guy tried to grab me I throw a punch at him. I heard some cracking noise I think I broke his nose. Before the next guy could get near me we heard a teacher shouting to stop. The guys were sent off school grounds but Leo kept his eyes on me until they were out of sight.

I and Evelyn were given detention after school then we left for our classes.

“Sry Maddy it is all my fault”

“ shut up these guys don’t deserve better it was satisfying hearing some cracking sounds”

“my omg you are so s******c, but still sorry and thank you” she hugged me.

After school, Evelyn was running towards the training ground to catch up to Mike before we go to detention. I was waiting on the sideline watching her talking to Mike. Evan came and taped my shoulder.

“ what’s up what are you doing here?”

“ she is going to confess “I point at Evelyn and Mike

“ oh f**k”

“What? What happened?”

“Mike introduced his girlfriend today they were already dating since summer”

“What?! Why didn’t you tell us?”

“How should I know she was going to confess, I thought this was just a little girls crush”

“They are done talking Mike is coming over don’t look”

“Hi Maddison, Evan we have a team meeting let’s go”

Mike passed and headed straight to the changing room. Both of them looked at Evelyn in the middle of the Feld.

“ Please look after her I must go to the meeting”

Evan also left with a last look in his sister's direction.

Before I reached her she started to walk. She was quite very quiet I walk beside her for a while leaving her some space. Evelyn walked blindly out of school without a specific destination. I was so worried that I forget the detention. It started to get dark and we were already walking an hour so I started to talk to her.

“ hey he doesn’t even look so good” she passed me and turn right after the corner. Before I could catch up there where a cry from Evelyn. My heart stopped a beat and I rushed to her. Two guys were holding her against the wall. My blood rushed through my body but before I could get to her someone caught me from behind. I was pushed to the ground while 3 other guys pinned me to the floor. My glasses flew away and broke into two pieces. Leo appears in my sight.

“Hi lovely Maddy, nice to see you again” his cold breath right above me.

“ What a beautiful face you have, how come you hide this gem behind these frames?” he picked up my glasses and dangled them before me. Evelyn was crying in the background pleading to let her go. Suddenly I heard some fabric torn. I strangle to get these guys off me.

“ if you touch her I will kill you, all of you”

The guys started to laugh.

“ you little girl will be next when we finish with her”

The guy with ugly thick lips put his mouth on Evelyn and then something cracked. There was a voice in my head that say we will kill.

My right arm throw off the guy which was holding me. I punched the left one and gave the third one a headbutt. My vision became blurred all I saw was red. There was so much hate and fierce energy radiating from me. I got up punched the one guy holding Evelyn and choke the one which put his lips on her. I started to punch again and again. The guy's face start to become minced meat but it was still not enough. Evelyn cried for help she cried my name. When I heard her sober I start to realize what is happening. I dropped the guy and run to her but she had so much fear in her eyes I stopped before her, looking at my hands. Blood was everywhere how could this happen? Sirens were coming in our direction most of the guys fled the scene. Leo looked at me before he left on his bike. Only three injured guys from the group were left on the floor when the police arrived. From this day on my life changed.
