MISSING
Jesse walked inside the police station and approached the front desk. “I need to speak to either detectives Marco or Angelo. Are they in?”
The towering police officer nodded. “Wait here, please.”
His hands shook as he reached for his phone and dialled Gabriella for the tenth time in two days, but she still wasn’t answering. Even her friends and family hadn’t heard from her. He had reported her missing the day earlier.
He looked up when Marco approached. “Marco, have you heard anything?”
He shook his head. “Listen, we will find her, but you can’t keep coming here, Jesse. Let us do our job.”
“Any new leads?”
“Yes, but they might not pan out.”
