They said she was cursed.

Her father abandoned her. Her mother was broken. Her family wanted her dead.

But Arianna Donovan fought back and survived, only to fall into the hands of the kingdom’s ruthless Beta. Cold. Powerful. Untouchable. He needs her as much as she needs him.

He swears to protect her, but instead she becomes his only weakness.

She was never meant to survive. He was never meant to love again. Yet together, they might just rewrite the prophecy that damned them both.

001: Her First Kill
Arianna POV “Look at you, slut. I know you’ve been begging for me… It’s not every day you get a d**k like mine. So strip, and stop playing saint.” Zane sneers, his voice dripping filth. In the dark, I catch the gleam of his well-toned abs, his shirt hanging in shreds where he’d ripped it earlier. We’re in a shack that looks more dead than alive. The walls are weak and rotten, and the roof is falling apart. The shack smells of mold and rust. Pieces of broken glass and wood cover the floor, crunching under my feet like bones. The only window is so dirty I can hardly see through it. The only route of escape seems to mock me, because his intimidating frame blocks the door, and that wicked smirk on his face are proof I’m not going anywhere. I step back, one step, then two. "Don’t come near me, Zane… don’t you dare touch me!" I scream as loud as I can, hoping someone might hear. But deep down, I know no one is around. Moon Goddess, help me. My eyes dart around, looking for an exit that doesn’t exist. My body’s too weak, too starved to fight. Frail arms, a skin stretched pale over bones, every rib a reminder of days without food while my adoptive family feast like kings. The pounding in my chest is so loud it drowns everything else. My frail hands won’t stop shaking, my knees weak as water. This is about to happen, I can already see it in his eyes, the image of Zane forcing himself on me twisting my stomach until I feel sick. By the goddess, no… I can’t let this happen. I can’t. “Please… stop, Zane. I’m your sister.” my voice came out more like a whimper than a plea. I stumble back one more step and my whole body goes cold, I’ve hit the wall. My back presses against the damp wood. There’s no more room. No more running. “Shut the f**k up! Adopted!” Zane’s roar shakes the shack. Spit flies from his mouth, his face twisted in rage. “The moon goddess forbid a filthy thing like you be my sister. Adoptive!” He spits the word like poison, never letting me forget it. My whole body trembles. He’s too close, so close I can barely breathe. I lunge to run, immediately a desperate cry rips from my throat as pain explodes in my foot. A broken bottle has pierced deep into my skin, burning and stinging all at once. I stumble, and he seizes the moment. His grip clamps around me, dragging me against him, trapping me. His filthy body presses into mine, and the reek of beer and cheap alcohol fills my nose, making my stomach twist. “Where do you think you’re running to, slut?” Zane snarls, his breath hot and sour against my face. “You should be grateful, begging for this. I bet your stinking p***y is already wet for me.” I shove at his chest with all the strength I can gather, desperate to push him off. For a split second, I think I’ve made him stumble, but the look in his eyes turns deadly, like I’ve just signed my own death. His lips curl into a devilish grin, and before I can blink, his arm swings. Pain bursts across my cheek as his hand slashes into my face. “You’re nothing but a slut… a w***e. Your body was made to please, to be used and thrown away, ” Frail hands or not, I shove him with everything I have. The force surprises even me, but it’s enough to buy a breath, a heartbeat of time. He staggers, snarling as he fights to regain his balance. “Arghhh," My cry rips out as I bend down and yank the shard of glass from my bleeding leg. Fire shoots up my limb, hot and sharp, but I don’t stop. Blood runs warm down my skin, and the room tilts with pain. When I glance up, he’s already on his feet. Zane’s eyes are black with evil, deadly, wicked, hungry. My hand scrambles for the broken bottle on the floor, but before I can raise it, his fist knots in my hair and yanks me back. “How dare you, f*****g slut,” I’m hurled against the wall, my head cracking against the damp wood with a loud thud. Stars burst across my vision, but I don’t waste a second. With the last of my strength, I swing the jagged glass forward and s***h it across his skin. “f**k… b***h!” he roars, letting go of me as his hand flies to the bleeding wound. I stumble, trying to steady myself, but the pain in my foot burns with every step, forcing me to limp on one leg. My breath comes fast, ragged. I push toward the doorway, hope staring at me, freedom so close I can almost taste it. But then I hear him again. Heavy steps. A low growl. He’s already coming for me. “No,” The scream rips from my throat as I whip the jagged bottle upward, slashing it across his face. The glass tears deep, leaving a scar that will never fade. Blood spills hot and fast, and his howl of rage rattles through the rotten shack. My eyes widen in horror as I stare at the blood on my hands, at what I’ve just done. My chest locks, breath frozen. “What’s going on?” I turn, heart sinking, to see my adoptive mother standing in the doorway, her face twisted with horror. “You b***h…” Her voice shakes, then hardens like stone. “How dare you do this to my son? After everything I’ve done for you? How dare you?” “She scarred me!” Zane spits, clutching his bleeding face, hatred blazing in his eyes. The sound comes before the sting. A whip lashes across my skin. Another follows. And another. Stroke after stroke. I grit my teeth so hard my jaw aches. The pain sears through me, but I refuse to cry, refuse to give them the satisfaction of watching me break. I was fading, slipping closer to death with every breath, yet my damned Omega adoptive family wouldn’t stop. For f**k’s sake, her son had just tried to r**e me, and somehow I’m still branded the villain? Fuck them. Screw every last one of them. A scream tore out of me, the sound ripping through my throat until my body buzzed with a violent charge. In the next heartbeat, I was no longer on the ground. My body glowed, shining with a light so fierce it burned my skin from the inside out. With a single finger lifted, I raised my hand, mother and son froze mid-motion, their eyes wide with terror as they watched me transform. They tried to shift, but it was already too late. I slammed them onto the floor with invisible force, bones cracking against wood. They scrambled for air, but mercy wasn’t in me. I raised them again, higher this time, and lashed them down once more. The sound of bodies tumbling and their strangled cries filled the shack, until their breath came in ragged, dying gasps. The power drained me just as quickly as it had filled me. My body shook violently, the world spins around me. Darkness closed in at the edges of my vision. My legs buckled, and I crumbled onto the blood-soaked floor. Through the haze, A figure so tall, Cold face advances towards me, Strides after strides. His face blurry from the night view. His hand reached down, he picked up the crest, the one my father had given me observing it. That was all I could see before the darkness swallowed me whole.
