ALEX TELLS THE WHOLE story over dinner, clearly delighted by his performance and the belated f**k-you to the school administration. Laura takes it all in stride, reminding Paul of nothing so much as his own mother’s reaction to anything odd that happened around him growing up. She’s clearly seen it all — especially with Delilah’s track record — and nothing Alex does can surprise her anymore. Delilah thinks Alex’s exploits are hilarious. Paul, however, feels mildly concerned. Yes, Alex clearly enjoyed himself, and maybe the trip to the school will, in time, prove as therapeutic as Paul had hoped.
