(Thelma's POV)
"Umm..." Before I could speak, Mrs. Tonia looked at me and said into the telephone line, "Boss, a new internship student is here to see you for her interview."
"Okay, boss," Mrs. Tonia responded, and I didn't know what their boss had said to her. She hung up the phone and looked at all of us standing in her office. We were about twelve people, suffocating her as she was sweating despite the air conditioning in her transparent glass office.
Mrs. Tonia looked at me again and said, "You can go in now to meet with our boss."
"Okay," I gulped, and Mr. Richard Ruben finally released my left hand warmly.
I was extremely nervous as I walked out of Mrs. Tonia's office with all the men in the transparent glass office staring at me. I made my way toward the office door that I had seen the previous yellow man step out from.
I wasn't walking fast, and I felt like all the murmuring and noise from the men in Mrs. Tonia Briggs's office had reduced. My heart was beating so loudly in my chest that I could only hear it.
I approached the huge office door in front of me and knocked on it, but the security man beside the door, guarding it with his full masculine chest that popped out to his front view, said to me, "You can go in, and there's no need to knock and delay our boss. Just go inside."
"Okay," I replied, and I saw that the office door was indeed showing a green light, indicating that I should go inside.
I stepped through the office door, and the green light immediately changed to red, indicating that I was already inside to meet with the boss and others should wait.
I stepped into the silver-painted office, staring downward at my feet to avoid meeting the gaze of the boss who sat on his executive seat.
I was still wearing a white shirt and a black pencil skirt, and my black shoes too. My slender legs felt heavy to move.
I clearly remembered that my elder brother and my father had both warned me to stay away from this man named Mavin White.
I could feel his gaze on me as I walked into his office and gulped. I slowly approached his huge black office desk, and I couldn't look up at his face. I was scared and didn't know if I should greet him either.
I finally reached his desk after taking minutes to get there.
I stood like a robot, still not looking up at his face as I finally stopped.
"What's your name?" The cold male husky voice asked me as he leaned forward to his computer keyboard and clicked to check who I was.
I remembered that Mrs. Elena Brown had said she would forward my identity to their boss, and I grew so nervous to speak my name.
"Can't you speak? I wasn't informed that a deaf and dumb lady would be applying as a new internship student here today. Raise your head up," he ordered, sounding a little annoyed.
I was scared to look at his face. Would he recognize me, knowing I'm related to Steven Sebastian? My elder brother is also very powerful like him.
I was scared and continued to stare at my feet.
I wanted to move backward away from his desk, but he finally spoke my name. "Thelma... Sebastian..."
"Yes..." I finally looked up at his face.
"You!" I gasped.
"You!!" He gasped too, and I was taken aback to see that he was the same man I had a one-night stand with the previous week.
I was so shocked to realize that I had slept with the same man my brother and father had warned me to stay away from.
His eyes darkened as he met my gaze, and his face contorted in anger as he stared at me angrily.
"What are you doing here in my office? As a new student in my company? Is this a joke or what? Are you a spy sent here to monitor me?" He asked angrily, rising from his office seat. I wanted to flee his office.
But I still stood rooted to the spot I was standing in before, and he swiveled his office chair sideways and walked out to meet me.
He grabbed me by my left arm and pulled me closely to himself, yelling, "Answer me! Are you a spy sent here by Steven or Conrad to monitor me? Are you related to them?"
I couldn't speak, and I was shivering and so afraid of this man.
How did I get into his trap again? I had prayed never to meet this scary-looking handsome man again.
What did I do wrong to him? He was even the one who had slept with me forcibly, and yet he stared at me accusingly, standing so close to me again, and grabbing my left arm tightly.
He was glaring at me with that same look that was plastered on his face from the very first day I woke up in his bedroom and met his angry gaze.
"Can't you speak? Answer me, or do you want me to get you arrested now? Come with me," he attempted to drag me out from the guest seat. But I immediately got scared and raised my right hand to his chest to stop him. He wore only a white long-sleeve shirt, having taken off his black coat and kept it neatly on another couch in his office.
I said to him, "Please sir, I'm not a spy, and I didn't come here to spy on you. Please believe me."
He froze as he heard my tiny voice, breathing heavily but not releasing my left arm yet. I repeated to him, "Please sir, I'm sorry about the other day. Sir Adam saw me crying and begged me to follow him to your house. But I didn't know him before, and I was only sad as my two best friends had mocked me for still being a virgin at 24 years. So I ran away to the club section of the hotel to drink any wine there and to cry away my sorrow until Sir Adam stopped me and dragged me out to meet you.
I don't know Sir Adam and really didn't mean to take any advantage of you, as he told me that he drugged you truly, and I would be paid by his grand master. But I'm not a spy, sir. Please, let me go, please."
"Shut up! And don't think I will just let you go so easily. First, you knew about my dilemma, and I was drugged, yet you agreed to do it with me."
"I didn't agree to do anything with you. You were the one who came out and dragged me into your bedroom with you," I replied, looking up at his cold face. He didn't look anything like a white man; he was a complete black man. Well, except for his silver colorless eyes, and I assumed that was why they were using White as their surname.
"Hmm..." His cold eyes burned like coals at mine, and I was expecting him to release my left arm, but instead, he grabbed my right arm too, holding both my arms with his palms.
He was breathing heavily, hot like me, and he finally asked, "Tell me that you didn't research about me all this while, and you knew everything about me, yet you chose to deflower me too?"
"No... I..." I tried to speak, but my voice was hoarse and husky like his, and I kept stammering and spluttering with him standing so close to me.
"You what? That you didn't research about me, and know that I hate women and you want to come here, break my hatred for women, and make me fall in love with you?"
"No... I..." I replied, meeting his deadly cold gaze. Before I could say any more words to him, his hot, sinful lips captured mine, and he kissed me so hungrily and passionately that I was shocked to see him pull me closer to himself. He circled his arms around my waist, and a hand moved upward to support my head as he deepened the kiss, continuing to kiss me passionately in his office as if his life depended on it.
We continued kissing for a while until his office door pushed open, causing our lips to part and breathing heavily. But he didn't move away from me, only stared backward at the intruder who had walked into his office.
He glared at Mrs. Tonia Briggs, who stared at us in shock for interrupting and walking into his office without permission, catching us kissing.
Mrs. Tonia was so shocked, she quickly lowered her head and apologized, "I'm sorry, boss, I didn't know that..."
"Shut up, and get out! I didn't send for you," Mavin curtly interrupted her, and Mrs. Tonia quickly exited the office, shutting the door closed.
"Hmm..." I wanted to move away from Mavin. My heart was still beating loudly in my chest after he had just kissed me, and yet he blamed me for taking advantage of him before.
So what would he blame this new kissing for now?
