The Start of this tale..
Hi there . This is your first warning before you continue on this story you're about to read. All names have been changed, but the story is real.
Rebecca was born on November 22 of 94.She lived in Arizona for the first few years of her life that she could remember, what she could remember. This was the only happy time in her life. Everything was wonderful until she moved in with her grandmother when she was four with her new baby sister Sophia, who was just born that winter.
Rebecca was too young to know what her life would be like from now on.
Rebecca's father , mother, and sister lived with Rebecca's mother. They lived in a beautiful seasonal town , very quiet and peaceful. Not only did they live there, but so did Rebecca's uncles, who were older teens. There name's were
Jacob and Dennis. Jacob and Dennis were Rebecca's favorite relatives of them all. In the fall of that year, everything changed. Just a few days before Rebecca's 5th birthday, her great-grandmother died, and everyone was devastated. Rebecca was the one to find her and comfort her baby sister while the adults handled adult things.
Rebecca's fifth birthday was the best everyone was there, family and friends. She never felt so much love ever again.
A few short days after her fifth birthday, her dad told her he was gonna go get cigarettes but never returned. As I am Rebecca, I think he didn't return because of my grandmother but you'll understand soon enough why I believe that. After Rebecca's Dad left , her mother fell into a deep depression and starting drinking alot. Life started to fall apart. Rebecca went to school everyday like she was supposed to. But life at home was awful in the short time we have told this tale so far , Rebecca's grandpa would give her fully body messages at night and Jacob attempted to leave this place early a few times. Also her grandpa and Dennis would have the occasional disagreements with fists. So just a regular life as a 7 year old, right?
On a nice fall day Rebecca went to school and came back to her mother no longer living at grandma's.Rebeca's
grandma sent her to a get better camp.
So not only she was forced to be unloved but she was abandoned too.
As Rebecca grew older in the next few years she grew to learn that she was nothing compared to her sister Sophia.
Sophia was her grandmother's favorite child. Sophia was grandmother's perfect thin, brown haired and white child. While Rebecca's was the over weight , black haired and olive skinned child with a speech impediment. It didn't matter how hard Rebecca tried to please her grandmother it was never enough. She would either have to drink lots of dish soap because grandmother would mistake Rebecca's good words with cruse words or get beaten with a belt or her wooden paddle. The worst punishment was to not eat until the next morning . It also didn't help that Sophia would tell there grandmother lies to get Rebecca in trouble often. Rebecca was bullied at school , at home for her weight and that she was different. When slim fast came out that was mainly her only dinner choice because her grandma wanted her to be thin like her sister. She even offered to get her someone to control her eating. This was the only thing that Rebecca was offered in the ten years she lived with her grandmother. Rebecca's sister Sophia always got treated the opposite of Rebecca. What ever Sophia wanted she got from the newest toys to birthday party's to the best Christmas toys and everyone loved her more. She got to go do fun activities such as tumbling/gymnastics or dance class. If Rebecca wanted something was ignored or told to play outside or had to get what Sophia wanted. She had no birthday parties and maybe one or two presents. On Christmas she got one present she wanted and the rest where handle downs or cheaply bought. Her stocking always had cole and dollar store trinkets. She missed her parents deeply and always wondered what she did.
The only small joy she had was visiting her dad's sister but that stopped abruptly after a couple years. Rebecca always loved to be outside amongst the trees and wilderness. Which they had tons of where they lived. She was not judged or neglected. She could just be herself. She also loved school, she did really well in school and was loved by all the teachers. She had gotten used to the bullying of her peers by how poor she looked, how she talked funny and how she was just different from everyone. She was over 100 pounds and short. Her clothes where never new and neither where her backpacks. The only thing new she received was one outfit, shoes and school supplies per school year as long as it was in her grandma's budget for her. She wished she could be loved by someone. As the years grew , the abuse never stopped. She was even locked out one night in the middle of a snow storm due to her not wanting to get belt whipping because her sister didn't want to stop talking. Dennis let her in a few hours later. Grandpa would occasionally stop by and give her special treatment at night. Then be back on the road to who knows where. Rebecca would talk to her mom and see her mom a few times over the years. Rebecca didn't tell her mom about anything because her grandma told her that if she did that her mom would get sick again and it would be her fault. She no word on her dad or any of her other family. She always wondered why everyone left her here.
It was a Sunday and grandma's music was on (the only day music was heard) , Rebecca always hated Sundays. Those where the worst days. Rebecca had to clean the whole house while Sophia only had to do one or two things. If Rebecca didn't clean she would either face a punishment or go not eating that day. She wasn't allowed to do anything until the house to Grandma's liking, that included escaping to the outside. That included vacuuming the upstairs and downstairs. Sweeping and mopping the kitchen. Cleaning the mess Sophia and grandma made from them making them a special breakfast . Scrubbing the downstairs toilet and what ever else grandmother asked. If it all wasn't done by dinner she didn't eat or if she got a punishment there was no dinner for her.
Rebecca was also responsible for all of Sophia's doing ; if Sophia got a bad grade or got hurt it was her fault in some way.
